how to load android on a rooted galaxy s7 - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hey guys,
New member here. I was trying to figure out how to load an android version onto a rooted phone. Is there an "easy" way to do this?
Maybe a step-to-step guide?
Thanks in advance!

Use odin to flash stock firmware or install TWRP to install custom rom from sd card.
Also I don't quite understand, you don't have to preserve root, you can root the device as many times as you want if you happen to lose it from installing a rom.

[Q] Tablet stuck at Android screen

Hey guys, I am sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread but I urgently need help from you guys!
So now I am having a china tablet, it is Ployer MOMO5 (if you guys know) and after using for awhile, it has stop working and I decided to upgrade its firmware.
I used Micro SD and I dowloaded the firmware from Ployer website.
After upgrading, everything went smoothly but it stucks at the 'android' word screen, and it is forever!!!
Anyone here can guide me regarding this?
I need this urgently thanks!

Any idea why it stopped working before you upgraded the firmware?
Not sure, maybe i did not use it for too long already.
Then when I on it initially, it showed all the RAM ROM and numbers (Not sure what it is called)

Then I decided to upgrade it by downloading the latest firmware, insert it into my micro SD and insert it into my china tablet to upgrade.
Everything worked fine.
But now I cant on it.
How did you install the firmware?Using a custom recovery or the pre-installed recovery of the tablet? And do you happen to have a backup of the working OS?

Not so sure what you are talking, but are you asking me whether i created the firmware myself, or download it from somewhere?
If yes, then I downloaded the firmware from the main website of it and I put into my micro sd

I downloaded the firmware and extracted them into the root directory of my micro sd. Then i hold the power button while inserting the micro sd card into me tablet. Then it update itself.
The tablet showed that the update is complete at the top left corner.
In that case, try flashing it again.

[HELP] Sort of Bricked my GS4

Im new to owning an android, and thought it would be a good idea to root and flash a custom rom onto my Sprint Galaxy s4 sph-l720, Not a good idea. I found some good tutorials to flash the stock rom back onto the phone. I've tried every guide and tutorial there is, but everytime, odin fails. I don't know what i am doing wrong, i may be trying to load the wrong firmware, i am not sure. I was on 4.4.2 Kitkat when i flashed my first custom rom onto my phone, my current custom rom is on 4.4.2, This is very frustrating and at the moment, i do not have a working phone until i can get Odin to stop failing. Thanks for reading. Quick replies would be appreciated!

[Q] Newb with a couple questions

I'm currently on 4.4.2. I ve been doing a lot of reading so bare with me. I'm simply getting tired of my phone, its been getting incredibly slow lately so I've thought about finally rooting and getting rid of the bloat. I should have done some roms before it was too late to get anything custom. I realize my options are incredibly limited now so I'd at least like to root and flash the debloated rom that seems to be the only one available. I found the sticky in the development section with all of the links to the only files available for 4.4.2 but when I attempt to download the root file, my computer flags it as a trojan so I can't go any further. What's the deal there? I"m on windows 8.1 so it it just my computer stating its not safe when it really is or can someone point me to a root file that will work.
Any programs that I need to download as well on my computer to flash this and anything else. I had my last phone set up well with custom roms but its been a little while so i'm out of the loop currently.
Thanks :good:

Why not just download it to your phone? Unless your using Odin then I can understand the need for a pc.
From my CM11 S3
In years past I just downloaded the apk file, connected the phone to my laptop and then ran the file in order to root. I thought it had to be done that way.

Well it would only make sense for the laptop running Windows to flag a android file which is an apk file as a virus. Windows doesn't and can't open it. If it's towelroot your referring to then yea downloading it to your phone is a lot easier

That makes sense. I took your advice and just downloaded it to my phone, loaded the towelroot and rooted. Simple. Also download safestrap and busybox. I rebooted and in safestrap created a backup file. This version is a bit different than the last that I'm use to. Is there a location that it saves to on my phone ? I thought I'd copy it to my computer to keep a backup there also.
I'm trying to get use to the differences but seems fairly simple. Is there a specific method to flashing a rom thru safestrap? Or do I just drop the zip file to my ext sd, reboot, wipe and flash via safestrap? Thanks for the help.

That I'm not sure of, I'm on an unlocked bootloader. May want to check in the safestrap thread
I know a little about how safestrap works. You utilize what's called a rom slot basically making the main rom as secondary and whatever BL rom you flash as the default one

Ya its a little confusing to me. It sounds like you use a rom slot to flash a rom and keep the stock one available to switch back to if need be? But it seems that people are flashing a new rom into the stock rom slot for better battery life. But that would mean then that the stock rom is no longer available to toggle to?

If you flashed on stock slot you only have one O/S to work with and it's recommended to use stock slot for better battery life. Safestrap is using TWRP for backup, restore and other functions so when you backup you should keep your backup on your external SD card. When you select backup, you should choose external sdcard and it will create a backup in the TWRP folder on your external sdcard, then make a copy on your pc if needed. Don't ever keep your backup on your internal storage because some day you're so drunk that you may wipe the internal by mistake..lol

Got myself in a bind. Bought a new Note 5 today to upgrade to 64GB. Forgot to OEM unlock, and the phone is bricked for the moment. The new image N920TUVU3DPG1 isn't available to download yet. Any suggestions, or does anyone know where the new image can be found yet? What a rookie mistake! Smart Switch in emergency recovery tries to flash N920TUVU2DPD1 and fails. Just downgrade to an older version via Odin if possible. It can be done on Verizon so I don't see why not on yours.

Hope u fixed ur problem, I'm still on Note 4, was waiting for u to fix the new firmware for us last month, and now we just got another one, so shocked Samsung is actually taking care of the Note 4 N910T,
My rom boots up, but can't see sim card, external storage, wifi doesn't connect and so forth, I guess they did something with the new MM that @dsixda kitchen doesn't work correctly somewhere anymore,
need to learn Ubuntu, not easy with no help,,, I made an external drive with 16.04 but need to java development and figure the rest out, not easy with 2 kids.. and wifey..
and u r also in FL, by the way thanks for the updater script for the past v5.1.1 roms we had...
Samsung keeps raising prices on these phones, ridiculous no reason the new Note 7 will be $849 cause they r only making egde style phones.
I'm glad they pushed me to my limits, first it was HTC, I had all the HTC phone till M7, for when they had the first tmobile dash windows phone.. haha..
don't know whats next, maybe crapple... no rush since the note 4 is still rocking good,
but the Note 7, water resistence is awesome is the only kool thing I guess.
Seems like I'm having the same problem frp lock and drk has anyone found a solution yet. I can't seem to find any way to fix this yet. Appreciate any help in advance
I could help with this issue, just let me know if you need my assistant I would have to remotely do this to accomplish this thanks..

LRA ☆SM-G920R6☆ Root without tripping Knox Counter

Hi. I'm finally can root my SM-G920R6. I use the KingRoot.apk the v4.80 and root the phone. But it's not full root. Them I use the SuperSuMe.exe on my PC to remove all the KingRoot app and install the official SuperSu.apk The program install it's self. And now we can install the correct binary and reboot the device and don't lose root... ohh and my Knox still 0x0... =) XD:laugh: :victory: :highfive:
Links:
●KingRoot v4.80
●SuperSuMe. for PC
Sincerely I don't know if full root or not. But for me is working. And other things I don't know is full knox disabled. The SuperSuMe block the knox in one of the process but I don't know if is disabled at all or not.
I wish this can't help all the SM-G920R6 user. And don't want to avoid the knox warranty.
The only thing you can see is every time you BootUp your phone it say Custom.
The next thing I'm going to do is make a full backup with FlashFire app because mi firmware not appear in SamMoblie. If one Dev can make something with this backup for make custom roms or something good for this devices model.
my phone info:
Android Version : 5.0.2
Baseband : G920R6WWU1AOE4
Build Number : LRX22G.G920R6WWU1AOE4
Hardware Version : G920R6.02
I'm not a good English speaker so I apologize my errors..
P.S.
Sorry I'm not a Dev. this is my first Thread and I do this for helping.
This is a little off topic for the op but I really need help right now.. I rooted with CF autoroot for G920F no problem then installed TWRP 3.0.2-1 zeroflteusc also built for G920F model and in the process of trying to find a better rom as soon as I had a custom recovery, me (being a dumba**) accidentally wiped my internal storage to do a clean flash of a rom therefore deleting the only backup I had. I've only been able to find the factory binary for this device which I flashed but it had literally nothing exept for basic testing software and a simple ui to run it. It was also stuck on Android 5.0.2 but I found a compatible rom with AllianceROM v1 with update v2 flashed for the G920F but I can't find any way to update past 5.0.2!! I've been trying to find a way to update somehow for weeks but nothing is compatible with my device and I'm stuck. Would someone that has my model running on Android 5.1.1 or 6.0/.1 please install the TWRP I mentioned before and make a backup of the system, modem, efs, and boot and post it online or send it to me it would be a lot of help.

Because my device is G920R6 originally and i want it back the 920F rom is barely compatible with my device as is and i want a stable rom made for my build and also to enlighten others of how i rooted this phone and what custom recovery is working for me. Even on 5.0.2 and an unstable rom my battery lasts 6+ hours of constant use so root is working fine for me.
So much hate.
yeah i see now this model phone is the ugly duck....
But some one have the factory firmware of this model flashable with odin. Thanks a lot.
