Hey, I'm looking to get the Redmi Note 7 Pro because combined with Google Camera its images look incredible.
I want to know if the ROM (China or Global) makes a difference to Gcam working and if so, which ROM is best or most widely supported for gcam? I'm from the UK and i know the China ROM has English preinstalled so that's not an issue.
I've never had any luck modding, unlocking boot loaders etc so I want to be able to just download a suitable Gcam Apk and have it just work without special knowledge, because I don't have any.
Thanks for any help!
China ROM can install GCAM with no problem.
GCAM that works : https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/MGC_6.2.030_RN7_V1f_plus.apk

Hey guys,
My friend got a Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus from his girlfriend, but he doesn't understand chinese at all, and there's a lot of apps he can't use because of that, as well as not being able to access our regular Play Store. I was looking for a stock version but couldn't find one, and Lineage doesn't seem stable enough to install at this point.
Does anyone know what is the most stable ROM that most closely resembles stock Android for the "natrium"? Or do you think LineageOS is stable enough to be used as a daily driver?

Install the lastest rom from Xiaomi EU. I recently switched from Lineage OS to MIUI 9 Beta. All roms from Xiaomi EU are in english without chinese apps and other stuff. Works great.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi.../files/xiaomi.eu/MIUI-WEEKLY-RELEASES/7.8.24/
Also, do not forget to install Google Camera with HDR+ APK for better photos from the rear camera.
Hi Guys,
Let me just say beforehand that I did try and read threads with this topics this but I admit I'm a bit lost. I see that most camera apps for RN5 Global are for unofficial roms, but I'm still on vanilla version.
Is there any working camera app that work better than stock camera app? Even if it's not 100%. I know Arnova's for instance are great and I understand it doesn't work great.
For the kind soul that takes the time to reply, many thanks!
first of all, shouldn't this post be on discussion section?
now, what do you mean by vanilla? miui? its not vanilla. it's xiaomi's own custom made rom. they modified vanilla aosp same as other custom roms you see. here you should say you're on stock rom or miui rom.
and unofficial rom means? all other custom roms? like PE, AOSiP, AEX etc.? they are officially supported by their respective devs. and here you should say you're not on aosp based rom or custom roms.
and now for the camera part. stock miui camera is considered well enough and some say works better than gcam.
if you want gcam you can try different versions and see which works for you. as for now, arnova gcam is partially working and a dev is working on a fix magisk zip. that means you need root by magisk to apply that. that'll fix front cam issue that we're facing now.
and if you don't know, you need camera2api enabled for gcam to work. to enable this you need root. you can unroot after enabling this if you please so. and you'll be vanilla again
there's also nokia camera port

Hey guys, hope everyone's doing well I'm currently using pixel extended rom which is great but I'm unable to use my 48 mp camera slow motion and all the other goodies that came along with stock camera, Gcam can only help me in pictures and videos which i admit is the most use but sometimes i do need those extra goodies that were present in my stock camera. Can someone please port that camera for custom roms.
I hope someone responds to my request
Having the same issue I searched everywhere and somehow stumbled on your post. Thought you might get a solution if so please let me know.. if not I am hoping some one would help us.

Porting stock camera to custom rom is next to impossible as stated by one of the developers of the riceDroid custom rom! Either use GCAM which is almost stable and good to use or you can always go back to realme ui.

Apologies if I sound kinda dumb, but how do I get back to Realme UI, I'm currently on CorvusOS, and I have the same camera issue, can I just directly flash the ozip file in Orangefox or is there some other method to do it ?

I have actually read somewhere that there is a flashable file of RUI which you can flash through custom recovery and after flashing, it will remove your custom recovery and install RUI stock recovery and stock ROM. But I have no idea up to what extent it will work like will our bootloader be locked again or not. But there is a process to go back.
Hello everyone. Hope youre enjoying ur day. I have a poco x3 nfc (bought in the UK). I would like to install custom roms on it. After updating to android 11 I have faced some bugs on miui . Just to let u know, I have little experience about installing as I used to experiment with my mi a2 lite. I have couple of question,
1) If I install custom rom on my poco x3 nfc will I lose my miui camera app? is there any ways to get it working on a custom rom?
2) Can anyone give me the links to working custom recovery and stock rom?
3) is magisk still a thing? (lol) Havent been experimenting with this in a long time
Thanks in advance. Cheers

1) There's a Magisk module for that
2) You'll find a working recovery, ROMs etc in the forum
3) See #1. I use ANX Camera (MIUI cam for custom ROMs), a call recording module, systemless hosts for adblocking and a OnePlus font). Other people use sound enhancement modules etc
Hi All,
I've been running GSI ROM (Pixel experience plus, A13) on my Xperia 5 III. All are working well except the camera. How can I reinstall the native Photography Pro app? I 've tried using ADB but get the error as attached
Thank you in advance
thanks for reply. However, what I am asking for is the native photography pro app from Xperia 5 III
For Gcam, I've tried many different versions but all of them are not fully compatible with this device.
Hi, Anyone bother to help here? I would like to keep using GSI Rom but I miss the Photography Pro stability.
Thanks
There's a thing called Xperiance Camera. It ports XZ2c's stock camera to any stock-based ROM. You can use the basics from it to make smth similar for X5III.
The quirk is, though, that you need to experiment by yourself. Playing with libs, trial and error and all that.
