Currently, I am running LIneage OS Latest Build, but I am trying to go back to emui 9 as I don't see any battery improvement over Emui9.
Check in guide section, i have posted a guide for emui 8, EMUI 9 should not be a difference

Today i'm going to install the Resurrection Remix OS on my Honor 8 (FRD-L09).
But if i'll want to switch back to emui, is there a way to go back from RROS to emui? (i prefer emui 5, but 4.1 is good too)

Anyone working on official custom builds of LOS or RROS for honor 8(frd)? emui sucks.
They have unofficial ones (though the battery life sucks on both). I would recommend AOSPA (paranoid android) which I am currently using.
Wait until EMUI 8.0 With Oreo and Treble drops, then use a Treble compatible ROM, if you look at the Honor 8 Pro forums, they already use a Treble ROM which is near perfect. Should be the same for us then just a little more patience.

I don't have doubts, Honor France and Honor Poland both said that the Honor 8 will get EMUI 8.0, they also mentioned that "One does not go with the other" in other meaning "EMUI 8.0 doesn't work without Oreo" which means that EMUI 8.0 will also include Oreo. If it was only a feature update/ported features, they would have called it EMUI 5.2 like they did before with EMUI 5.0.1.
Also all Huawei/Honor phone get Treble alongside Oreo since they already use their own vendor partition which means they don't have to reformat the device (which COULD result into a brick, thats why OnePlus and Nokia won't include Treble on the Oreo updates).

Developers if there is any way to get any sound mods in Emui 8 , please comment below. Somewhere I read Emui 8 is 64 bit so mods didn't work in that. I didn't know the information is right or wrong but no soundmods work in oreo, anyway, we have to find a solution to this.

Dolbyatmos available to flash in RR gsi rom from Openkirin. it was working on RR but not working on stock emui 8

Hey, I'm debating If I want to take the leap and root the honor 8 already , I wanted to know If I install an Android 8.0 my phone will support Treble Or I need to install the EMUI 8.0 Rom first for the support and only then install Lienage or something like that....
also, is there an android pie 9.0 treble rom for our phone?

To use any Treble based ROM, you have to first update to EMUI 8.0. Look at all the Treble based ROMs present on OpenKirin's website. They'll provide you with the best support.

those are aosp roms? I can download them directly from a rooted EMUI 5.1 with twrp and that will give me treble support Or I gotta go to EMUI 8.0 first and only then?

You must first upgrade to EMUI 8 to get treble support.
Then you must NOT use TWRP to flash openkirin treble ROM, as stated in their install instructions.
See their thread/site/telegram for magisk instructions.

Does anyone know if Honor 8 will get Android Pie?
I'm also wondering about Android 8.1, will it be available for Honor 8 (frd-l09 especially)
I recently had my phone replaced but this time it refused to download the android 8.0 update both in OTA and hisuite, even after i downloaded and flashed B521 it refused to update to B562.
By refused i mean telling me it's already up to date, both OTA and hisuite.
Is it possible to force it or should I give up on OTA's and hisuite updates

There is no need getting 8.1 because there is already pie from Open Kirin. I am pretty sure we will get working Android Q this year too and because of treble, we will probably get Android 11 too.

openkirin.net -> Downlaod -> Omni pie rom
On their website they assure that Pie builds works ONLY under EMUI 9 ?

BRo there is also a pie rom for emui 8. But battery is not so great as stock rom.
