LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github Repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Are you still going with this? Wondering if it is worth waiting for an update.
Whats the issues with permissive? What will it prevent me from doing?
probably not worth pursuing. cm13 not much different than cm12.1 in some cases they removed things I liked and was used to.
I think we've seen the end of the line for this phone
Hoping for further development...
In contrast to @undivide, I hope development continues for CM13 on evita!
Going forward, CM13 will add a few new features and ways of doing things... in turn, this will prompt app-developers to update their app to match. And, if you're unable to run the latest OS/apps, you are increasingly exposed to hostile attacks.
I like new enhancements as much as anyone, but I'm here because of "safety".
And right now, I'm curious about the status of the GPS (taking a long time), SELinux (hopefully now "enforcing") and the camera (working with GApps)...?
Thank-you!
Errors:
1. after flash bootloop. have to flash boot.img via fastboot again.
2. sdcard corrupted message. there is a wizard where i can select mobile storage or interal storage. both settings are not working.
edit: got sdcard working over recovery but now i cannot use android because adoptable storage wizard comes up on startup and crashes, which is not a big problem but the app is starting again and again with the error message. so i still cant configure the sdcard nor can i use android because homescreen is not accessible. will revert to cm12

Hi, i just tried to install your ROM, then Gapps (open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20191116) but im getting "Error 70" saying in above message insufficient space...
I did factory reset and then format data, copied rom and gapps zip into SDCard folder...
No sure where could be problem.
EDIT: i had to copy "gapps-config-tilapia.txt" into the SDcard folder where is "open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20191116.zip" file, then it works. Wasn't that clear from Install steps.
Thanks
Great firmware! Big request: please update, preferably with the December security patch. I beg you to make us a New Year's gift, thank you!
Updated! Source upstreamed!
Can you make this rom for grouper?
(I used google translation because I can't speak English well. I'm sorry if I've made you feel uncomfortable.)
h.264 not working
Thank you for your work! @ud4
It just seems that h.264 decoding is not working properly. Could you have a look at it? I want to use the tablet my security cam streaming device.

I tested in Chrome and didn't experience any problems. What app do you use?
Hi,
@ud4 sorry for the late reply. I am using VLC. For example try the following rtsp stream:
PHP:
rtsp://wowzaec2demo.streamlock.net/vod/mp4:BigBuckBunny_115k.mov
It works on all my android devices but regrettably not on the nexus with your build. Could it be that the software decoding is working fine but hardware decoding does not? I just do not know how to test this.
@ud4
Thank you so much. You are the reason that i can use my tilapia.

Disapointing
Wow a ROM made in 2020 that has a 3.1 kernel ....

Thanks for the rom. Got my nexus after years alive again
Updated with various NFC fixes. Update with security patches will be available as soon as the changes are published in the LineageOS repository.

Slow while opening apps
There is a considerable lag when I press the dotted app tray button and some times when opening apps. Am I supposed to do something while installing this rom or others are experiencing this too?

Hi, I have C5000ZHU1BRA1 and twrp 3.2.3-0 on my phone, but when I try to install rom, it asks for the installed C5000ZHU1CRJ5. Which I can’t install on the phone. Am I alone with these?
I don't know why the developer keep saying:
"Install only over C5000ZHU1BRA1 stock ROM"
You have to flash C5000ZHU1CRJ5 stock ROM in order to be able to install the this ROM.
Thanks for your rom! I have been using your C5000 rom since Lineage14. And I found some problems for this beta rom:
1,The camera keeps making sound, which seems foucing;
2,when I turn on my phone , time is wrong(maybe my problem)
Thanks for Android Q
Just downloaded it and testing.
The developer options menu keeps crashing as well. Not sure if i messed something up
Op are you working on new build or not?

No update for quite a while. Is it still maintained? Any chance to get BT-Calls running?
Nice to see this ROM developed, thanks for all the hard work!
Bluetooth calls would be really nice!
Any way I or others can help with that?
First of all, thanks for the developers for the hard work!
Anybody using the latest version that can tell how that is going?
The link for the Disable_forcedencryption patch is also broken. Anybody have the working copy?
Thank you!

Just gave it a go myself. Really happy with it so far, along with the latest NikGapps. Nothing to complain so far. The other way around, it seems to work better than the GSI lineage I was running before. Battery seems to last longer as well. Let's see how it goes in the longer run!
Where's the latest build link?

Go here , click on "assets" and search for a build with "a40" in it's name
thanks but doesn't seem to work on my A40. Just throws 'error 4' from TWRP (or a number close to that from memory) and doesn't progress with any install.
Maybe Error 7 ? You're sure you took the right one ? This one work on my A40.

How do you install this UNOFFICIAL build? Because I tried sideloading it over the existing installation and it screwed it up.

Oof, this is because official builds are signed with different keys. A clean flash is needed to switch builds. However, there is a migration script on the LineageOS Wiki that may help you with keeping /data. I haven't personally tried it as I always clean flash.
I would love to try but after my first failed attempt and troublesome recovery, i.d. start from scratch, I cannot afford to lose access to my banking apps and 2FA...
Using the LineageOS updater would allow an easier recovery by just reinstalling the previous version.

I get it. Unfortunately it's not that simple when switching between official -> unofficial/unofficial -> official builds.
I've gotten some feedback from users on Telegram, so we'll see. One users said it works for them, another said it only works for them on sim slot 2. So waiting for more feedback before I commit these changes officially.
Hey guys I tested the unofficial build and the VOLTE is working. At least with my carrier - Telenor BG. I had it working from the first try - just clean flashed the unofficial build and the VOLTE call went through. Maybe you guys can let us know when we can test the official image with the fix that is included from the unofficial build Thanks
Changes for VoLTE will be in the next official build. I apparently wasn't fast enough to get them in today's build
I'm wondering: I flashed the build from today via the updater and was very pleased when I saw that VoLTE was actually working. SIM slot 1, Vodafone Germany.
And now you say the actual change is not in this build? Then i wonder why it is working. Could it be the involuntary clean flash? Because I originally updated my 17.1 build to the 18.1 one.
PS: I also have the option to turn on/off VoLTE. It wasn't there before.
Hello, would it be possible to install LineageOS using another recovery (I have Pixel Experience recovery), or it is necessary to use the LineageOS recovery?
Thanks.

Assuming PE recovery allows you to sideload or flash a zip, you should be fine to use PE recovery. Lineage Recovery will replace it once booted. The recovery.img is there as an option so that there is a way to flash LineageOS without the need of being dependent on another recovery option.
Thanks alot.
I will install the LineageOS as soon as an Android 12 image will be available.
Invalid zip file format!
Error installing zip file '/sdcard/lineage.zip'
Help please, I just want this device to work again, currently without OS

Is Camera working?
Hi!
If I clean flash this (from the OP, not the test build), will I be able to use the updater safely on subsesquent builds until a version change?
