Can't reply to texts on watch. - Samsung Gear S3

So I just got the S3 Frontier yesterday, set it up and began using. Everything seems to be working great except one feature. Text messaging. I get the notification just fine, but every time I try to reply, nothing happens. It says that it sent, but if I open the app on my phone, it did not send. It won't even let me initiate a text message from the contacts screen either. Which is weird because yesterday that worked fine. I'm using the watch with a LG V30 and the stock LG messaging app.

Messaging don't play well with non samsung messaging app but you can try out pulse.

Is there a way to get the messaging app on s2 when using lg v10?

Anyone found a way to get the messages app and the email app working on the gear s2 while paired with the v10? I am able to respond to text from the notification area or buddies list but i dont have an email or messages app in my app circle. I was told that its only able to use those app on the watch when paired with a samsung device but if there is no way around it i am gonna take the watch back.
I believe it is going to vary by each setup. I bought the S2 a few days ago. Calls and Gmail notifications come through fine on my V10. No messages notifications though although I have the messages app in my app drawer.

Stock Messaging is Horrendous. How I got Google Messenger on my S3

So I was told upon getting my new S3 Frontier (Sleek as hell btw) that if I want to be able to send and receive texts I have to go back to the stock text app on my samsung phone.
Much to my dismay I did. Within an hour my phone crawled to a halt. Switched back to Google Messenger (Long Live Google) and much to my surprise, even though it keeps telling me when I try to start a new text that I have to use the default text app, i can still view and send texts with Google Messenger as my default. When prompted that I need to switch, I simply hit the X and it takes me to the Message threads and I can still create or respond accordingly, albeit looking like the stock layout. In fact, when I receive texts, it displays GM's icon for the text and lets me reply with no hangups. It even displays group messages properly compared to the stock text app. If you reply via the notification, it then skins the message threads to Google Messenger. It still won't display pictures, but that really isn't a big deal nor would I really want to see pic messages (hey if you want to give us support for it I won't complain). All in all, it would seem the S3 has half-baked support, or GM has it baked in, for third party messengers to be used on the Gear.
So I'm not sure if this is intended or I somehow got lucky, But I just wanted to pass along this bit of information and wanted to ask if there is a way to fully integrate my GM app into my s3 somehow?

Thanks for posting that. I use hangouts and was in the same situation. I never tried to actually send a message because the app said I had to go back to stock messenger. It works perfect!

Disregard
Yes same with chompsms that I use and love so much. I was already calling to find out about returning it and freaking out. But when I power cycled the units, everything works. I use it mainly for replying to text so it works for me. Hopefully we get more support from some devs

Now all I need are some watch faces. I remember downloading a huge amount of faces but don't remember from where. It was for my old moto360
Am I missing something? Mine just tells me to check my phone (Pixel type)
Edit: Nvm, read S3

If you have an LTE version, then turn your watch network setting to always on.
Are you all getting notifications. I have the S3 with Galaxy9s. I can read the messages but get no notifications on the watch.

Check your battery optimization. I had to turn off optimization on my OnePlus 7 Pro, then rebooted. Now I get notifications on the watch.

Textra and Gear S3 with Huawei P9

Hello everyone =)
I was using Google Messenger with my Gear s3, but I had some problems with MMS not being downloaded to my phone.
So i tried Textra and was surprised how smooth and good looking it is, and it is able to show me history of my conversion when I receive a text and also show pictures of received MMS messages
My only problem is that i am not able to get any sound on my watch when i receive a message from Textra, other stuff like e-mail is working.
My phone is on mute, so when i turn on the sound on my phone I also get a sound on my watch when receiving a Textra message.
Any ideas? =)

Outgoing SMS Not Showing In Thread When Sent From MightyText/Pushbullet/MySMS

I just got this phone a few days and ago and it's working great except for one issue. I use apps like MightyText/Pushbullet/MySMS to send texts from my PC. These apps all worked fine on my last phone but not on the Honor 6X. I verified that the messages go out and the other person receives the text I send (and all of the apps say that the message has been sent), but the outgoing message does not show up in the conversation thread in my messages app. I've looked in both the stock app as well as my preferred app (Textra) but they aren't there.
At first I thought it was an issue with MySMS (my primary remote SMS app) but I installed and tried MightyText and Pushbullet as well, and all of them send the message successfully but none have the outgoing SMS show up, so I'm thinking this is an issue with phone. Not sure if it has anything to do with it being a dual Sim.
Does anyone know what's going on?
FWIW, I've kinda solved my own problem. Looks like messages will only show up as sent messages if they are sent through the default SMS application. I set MySMS to be the default SMS app and now outgoing messages are showing up. This isn't ideal because I prefer Textra, but I found an SMS app called Pulse that does the same thing and I like the SMS app more than MySMS. It's cheaper than the other options too. It's not a perfect solution but it will work for now.
Still not sure why this is an issue with the Honor 6X and not my last phone (Moto G4 Plus)

get check your phone message on any messaging app notification

does anyone know why i can't reply to my SMS or my what'sapp messages form the watch.? and how to fix this problem?
Unforunately Gear S3/Sport do not work with some system SMS apps, andwith Whatsapp the upgrade is said to cause problems and the solution to it is downgrade to 2.18.46 on your phone - I am checking it today to see whether it works.
with SMS I had the same problem, I installed Textra and now it works fine - in notifications I have the whole conversation - but when I terminate the notification, all disappears

Wow, I use Textra and I just bought A Gear Sport. Waiting on very slow shipping.
If Textra does not work well on the Gear Sport, that would be a huge deal breaker. It might be going right back up for sale.
