Encryption fixed?

This just hangs at the loading image for me, same as your TWRP 3.3.0
I have the Chinese RN7P if it makes any difference.

Been busy in real life recently and bricked my violet before so I would rather wait for others to try

New steps for flashing (just for the MIUI users)
I have updated the forum with extra steps for those who are running the MIUI and try to flash the custom recovery for the first time. This will allow you to run the custom recovery alongside the MIUI so you may give this a go.

I suppose you must be running miui. I have posted some additional instructions on the forum on how to flash for miui users. You can also make use of this tutorial for reference :

doesn't stick on my device. have to flash recovery again and again

I installed it over fresh flash of latest MIUI Global Stable 10.3 fastboot, boots properly and everything is working so far. Will add more details once I test more.
Edit : I installed the MIUI eu rom over this recovery, works good, no hiccups so far. People facing the 'Stuck at Boot Logo' try erasing userdata in fastboot and then flash.
P.S. : I didn't flash the patched vbmeta mentioned by OP but still it's functioning well no problems.

Working for me, try wiping userdata via fastboot and if possible try flashing over a clean, fastboot flashed MIUI.

CyanogenMod 12.1 for LG L Fino
THIS ROM IS CURRENTLY BEING COMPILED FOR D290N ONLY! IF YOU FACE ANY PROBLEMS ON A DEVICE OTHER THAN THE D290N DON'T COMPLAIN.
DO NOT INSTALL THIS IF YOU'RE UNAWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING! ANY QUESTIONS LIKE " what's flashing" AND "how to wipe" WILL BE REPORTED SINCE THEY DO NOT CONTRIBUTE TO THE THREAD.
Notice:
This ROM is very WIP. Don't expect it to be a daily user.
Because the ROM is only tested on D290N, only this variant of L Fino is supported by me (since I only have this variant to test on).
Functionality can be broken on other variants.
The ROM theoretically can be installed on:
D290TR
D295
D295F
G2 Lite

Problems/Bugs:
When in system and connected to a Windows PC via USB. The PC goes to BSOD. (Appears to be caused by LG drivers. Uninstalling them fixes the problem but also stops any ADB access.)
NFC
Some phones have spots on back camera (This is due to them using a different sensor)
Audio not balanced properly
Other small things
People involved:
@proudlytm - Providing his device for testing.
@christpp - Main kernel dev. Everything we have now is because of him. This ROM would not be possible without him.

@vm03 - Creating msm8610 kernel
Special thanks:

That's what I meant. Did it boot after you put your battery back?
I think I made a mistake with pulling out the battery...I was done with the flashing, when the TWRP is freezed...I waited, and waited, and waited. After a while it's been annoying... So I removed the battery.. It said: Boot clarification (I can't remember very well) error+ some texts..
So I have to flash the stock ROM, and reflash the CM
Guys! Do not remove the battery if it's stuck!

Instructions for unlocking bootloader can be found here
Thank you @20tibby_gt06 for these instructions
TWRP Installation
1 - Download TWRP
2 - Reboot into boootloader mode
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
3 - Check to see if fastboot mode is working
Code:
adb fastboot devices
4 - Change working directory in terminal to your Downloads folder (or whatever folder TWRP is located)
Code:
cd Downloads
5 - Then type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Replace "recovery.img" with the name of your file (I always change mine to recovery.img for less typing in the terminal)
For reasons unknown to me, some people have reported a successful flash with this method but TWRP ends out being non-existent when rebooting to recovery. If this is the case for you try this:
1 - Follow steps 1-4 above
2 - Enter this command instead for step 5:
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
This will temporarily boot TWRP onto your device allowing you to flash the needed files to boot LineageOS

Quick question. I know own I shouldn't dirty flash but if I do will it keep the encryption in my external SD?
I use it as internal so I don't want to have to go through setting it all up again!
Will back it up anyway just in case

Also another random question. I find the WiFi in the other lineage rom to be slow.
This to me isn't a deal breaker as the performance difference overall is so much better but it would be interesting to know other people thoughts and if you think it is quicker in this new ROM.
For example I tried remote play and it's a laggy mess and downloading from the play store seems to take much longer than all my other devices.

I will work on a tutorial this evening for everyone for unlocking bootloader and installing twrp. It will be in post 2
One thing for now for you to try is instead of doing fastboot flash recovery recovery.img try fastboot boot recovery.img. that will temporarily boot it allowing you to flash the ROM, Gapps and root if you choose.

Ok encrypted sd caused me no end of issues so did a full wipe.
First bug I have got is in the camera. Keeps asking for sd to be inserted even though storage permission enabled.

Something is wrong. Magisk won't write to sd.
Log collector can't get access to collect the log.
Not sure what's going on!!
EDIT: Sorted it. It was because I had used external sd as internal. For some reason even after a full wipe it was looking for it. I had to tell it to forget it and now all is well.

I managed to install your ROM using the temp twrp install method! Enabled root within rom settings! Installed flashify and gave it root permission then I was able to flash twrp.img permanently via flashify! Rom is lightning fast compared to the stock ROM! WiFi not as fast but I can live with that! Screencast doesn't find my Philips TV but other casting apps find it fine! Excellent ROM! Congratulations to the developer

Thank you kindly for the work to get TWRP working on the X18 Plus! Are new versions of TWRP automatically built now along with all the other versions supported. How has the feedback been on the release?

Yes, a new release is auto-built every month.
Tested by @iNFeRNuSDaRK and confirmed it's working. Except for encryption support.

Badly it seems there are some x18 Plus modifications missing in the recovery img
when i want to update the system i get things like
E3004: This package is for CUBOT_X18_Plus devices this is a cubot_x18.
even if try to modify the updater-script to ignore these checks, i fail at least at updating the system partitions, maybe some problems with encryption or file system layouts modifications for x18 plus are missing
ok i tried to recompile the recovery and tried to find the right parameters but this gets much more confusing, when i try to update to the latest official rom

same as with the old build
E3004: This package is for CUBOT_X18_Plus devices this is a cubot_x18.
Edit: ok i see, i think the build wasn't successfull so there where no changes in the .img
---------- Post added at 04:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:51 PM ----------
so i tried more stuff, when reverting back to original recovery i get
E3005: "EMMC:/dev/block/platform/mtk-msdc.0/11230000.msdc0/by-name/boot:10138528:fcf3cc2d6ac345fa071fb12e409df7234de130cb:10156960:84a65157b0daa69dd9559f7d7b109ad2909e225b" has unexpected contents.
so i think maybe it's an issue with original update and unlocked bootloader, not sure how to understand this. Maybe TWRP is fine and this issue don't come when using custom rom

Well, build errored that's why it's the same.
This error you posted means you have modified boot partition, are you trying to flash an OTA?
New build is out!

Any new?

You can't flash ota if you made modifications to boot/system
So first flash full rom, flash ota, backup boot, flash magisk or whatever
when you get another ota, restore boot then flash, and so
I ported Philz recovery to x18 plus, got it working, everything works fine except it can't mount /data
So just asking asking between TWRP and now Philz recovery being ported is the X18 plus are we in a position where there is a working recovery that can install a GSI so we could use the Project Trebble ROMS? If not then what is the impediment stopping this? I am happy to try and contact Cubot directly if it helps out?
@yshalsager : I saw that you wrote in the other thread that you need the /vendor/etc/fstab.* files. Do you still need these? If I can get some instructions on how to provide these to you I happily will do.
Thanks all for continued work on this phone.

The recoveries are working alright, its just an issue with Oreo's force encryption of the data partition (the system automatically encrypts the data partition on 1st boot) if you do a full wipe of /data the encryption is cleared, you'll see TWRP can access it but after first boot its back to encrypted.
As for GSI I guess you can install (haven't had time to test thought), you may need to do a full wipe of /data before you boot the new system.
I just tested out the official RR GSI from https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...pment/gsi-resurrection-remix-o-6-1-0-t3811299 on x18_plus everything working okay except MTP, you have to disable adb. And network when using dual SIM is not very stable

Hi @kamwash @yshalsager,
Great work guys, could I request for the lurkers on this forum that you might point people to a guide for installing your recoveries? Or conversely write a few lines here if you have a few spare minutes. I think it would help out as other tutorials are not really specific for the X18 plus and people are scarred of bricking their working phones.
Many thanks gents!

What is TWRP?
Oh come on, you know what it is - don't try to fool me!
In case you're serious, though...
Team Win Recovery Project is a custom recovery for Android devices.
It allows you to back up and restore your data, flash custom ROMs to your device, repair broken file systems, root your device and more.
Read more about TWRP here: https://twrp.me/about/
How to flash and setup it completely?
- First, make sure your phone isn't RMM Locked.
- Download Odin3 v3.13.1, Samsung USB Drivers, latest TWRP's tar for your variant, latest no-verity-opt-encrypt zip and RMM Bypass v3 zip.
- Go to Settings App, Developer Options and enable OEM Unlock (If you don't see Developer Setings, go into About phone>Software info and tap "Build number" 10 times to show Developer Options menu).
- Do a backup of all your important data and files in your phone.
- Shutdown the phone. Once it's off, Power it On in Download Mode (Press and hold Power, Vol + and Vol - buttons together)
- Connect your phone in your PC, open Odin3, go in Option section and untick "Auto-reboot". Once that click the "AP" button and select the TWRP tar you downloaded before, then press the "Start" button.
- Once Odin3 finished to flash the recovery (you should see a "PASS" message), force reboot your phone (Press and hold Power and Vol - buttons together) and once the screen is off, press and hold Power and Vol + buttons together to boot in TWRP.
- Once TWRP is booted you first need to decrypt your /data partition. To do so touch Wipe>Format Data and follow the instructions in screen.
- Once it finished go back at the home screen and touch Reboot>Recovery. TWRP should be able to mount your data partition. Now copy the no-verity-opt-encrypt and RMM Bypass zip you downloaded before and flash them (touch Install and select each zip to flash it)
- You're now able to reboot to your OS without re-encrypting /data partition and without RMM Prenormal lock.

I was running Magisk on a clean firmware. V16.00 does not install root, and imei flies. V16.6 root is received, but imei also flies.
SuperSu put then just to check for a clean rom and imei also flies.

I've a feeling it may be the kernel since in Oreo kernel Sammy added more RKP security. Gonna release probably a snapshot of my custom kernel without upstream temporarely then bump the version when upstream is done. So please have a bit of patience, give me the time to merge all the MCK N v2.1 tweaks/edits into Oreo source code

It's not a TWRP issue, and it's still unknown if it's a Magisk bug or (high probably) a sort of new anti-root protection by Sammy. I'll check A8 firmware once I get free time

Hi. You must plug in the USB cable while holding down the volume keys. Then is will go into download mode.
For recovery mode. Hold down volume up then press and hold power. When Samsung J6 logo appears release both buttons
Work in j600g?
Hi,
I can able to root SM-J600G via Magisk.
follow just few steps
first of all backup your data
Enable OEM unlock via developer options
flash twrp recovery & go immediately recovery mode
put these files in external sdcard
1. flash RMM-State_Bypass_Mesa_v2.zip
2. flash no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip
3. Rest factory via twrp recovery
4. flash Magisk-v17.1(17100).zip
Finally reboot device.
Worked on my galaxy j6 2018 (SM J600g)
Followed the steps as mentioned in the thread and I got twrp installed on my phone in first attempt.
Recovery working fine, no major issues found, and also successfully rooted the phone with magisk 17.
A big thanks to the developer cause I was able to completely remove 180 Samsung bloats from my phone.
Waiting for custom roms for this model, anybody working on it ?
