My imei no got lost while restoring backup using cwm..... i looked around the forum and the ".nv_data" method will not do because my efs folder has a file named "essiv" only and nothing else.....
if someone would confirm what files are contained in thier efs folder and mail it to me also i'll be grateful......
I don't think the 'efs folder' of one device can be used with other devices as it contains the device's IMEI number.
Could you elaborate a bit as to what did you do that resulted in the loss of your IMEI number ? It would help others avoid it in future.
Well.... i restored the same backup file couple of times 'coz i was trying to flash a new theme...btw i am on stock indian 2.3.5......
the files in efs folder can be edited using hex editor (read somewhere in the s2 forum...i don't remeber which thread) so the imei no. in that file can be modified...
Hello Friend
I need EFS folder because my phone does not Antenna please upload for me your EFS folder.:crying::crying:
Thank you
Using any other efs than the original is illegal but you can use your phone as a ipod
Sent from my C5503 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Ok for friends who have completely corrupted EFS folder then the phone is "without imei" just write this file via ODIN in PDA
mega.co.nz/#!lxdgHCpL!UXThp1fT2HKrTJA_G1czASiKjkkrit-FjVJSwiexPFQ
This file restores EFS with a standard imei 004999010640000 then proceed to restore your imei staff with the method you prefer.
I used Z3X.

Thank you., I got this file with Flash Odin software, but unfortunately the problem is not resolved or you have any suggestions?
After flashing the above file, you need to restore your own imei number, to get the network working. Check the bill for the phone, or the box it came in to find your imei number.
Ok my imei peinted in phone box and i have this number. How to restore this imei number??
Use Z3X. Search here in xda forum for more details.
Hello together,
i hope you guys can help me out here. Today my Nexus 5 has been stolen. Now i want to prosecute but i need my IMEI. I am currently not at home but i got my laptop with a backup made by TWRP.
The folder looks like this:
http ://puu.sh/ nzexP/cfbff68baf.png (remove the spaces, i am new here thats why i cant post links yet)
As you can see there are some files and also two files efs1 efs2. But i dont know how to extract those or where to find my IMEI in that files.
Could someone please help me with that?
Thanks in advance
Edit: I found something in that recovery.log which might help to extract it? The log says:
Backing up EFS...
I:Backup command: 'dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p12 of='/data/media/0/TWRP/BACKUPS/05f111c90047784e/2015-08-18--14-50-33_cm_hammerheadcaf-userdebug_5.1.1_LMY48G_501//efs1.emmc.win' bs=1048576 count=3'

Maybe you guys now know which command the file was created with and you maybe know something for this in reverse to extract?
You don't have the box?
Call your carrier and they may have a record of the last IMEI for yoru nexus 5.
I have Bell Canada as my carrier and their system is able to read the imei from my phone.

Isnt it possible to extract this backup files?
If you go to Google dashboard it will give you a list of all Android devices ever signed in to that account. Including IMEI.
Hey guys,
Does anybody have a qcn back-up file for the MI 4 LTE-CU?
I need it very bad. I flashed wrong modem firmware and now my nvram (12, 13, 16th partition) is corrupted . I have no IMEI, baseband and cellular info.
Hope someone can help me.
Ruud
Try Qualcomm IMEI Writer or QPST tools.
I tried them both but I need a qcn file complete. I do not know how to write a complete qcn file myself.
If I can get a similar qcn file from the same device I can change the IMEI into my own using QPST and a heximal IMEI converter.

Is it the LTE FDD version of MI4? I tried to flash it using QPST but no success so far.
It can not reset NVram it says. Complaining about incompatible model number.
Thanks for your help! I going to examine the file later this week and then give it another try. Probably coming weekend.
Greetings
It works!! Finally I got it. I used XVI32 writer to change the IMEI in the above qcn file. With Qfil I was able to restore the adopted qcn file.
Many thanks for sharing, Yingice!!
Solved!
Which files and folders are IMEI responsible for? and where do I find it on the mobile phone ROOT?
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????w
Might be wise to wait a day or so before question marking your post. Just an FYI.
I don't have my Mate 9 Rooted, but TWRP should have an option to backup the IMEI information. As well you can checkout this thread here with ways to backup the IMEI

No. You asked what controlled imei. It's in the modem partitions, but encrypted.
You need to use HCU to fix it.
