Sup, my fellow ONE-chaps.
I'd like to port a CM11 ROM from the Galaxy Note 3 for my ONE.
Can someone help me through how they ported their ROM to this phone?
Thanks in advance!
There are far to many differences to simply port a ROM from the note 3 to this phone, it would be hell to get it working
You would be best off to build from source and then cherry pick the features you wanted from that note ROM, but even this would be difficult to explain step by step here.
Check out XDA-university and look through those guides to see if its something your comfortable doing
Best of luck!
hi, i have a redmi6 cereus (type M1804C3DG 64GB) android 8.1 and i have upgraded from miui global 9.6 to miui global V10.2.3.0 (OCGMIXM) stable.
are there any official custom roms that can be installed on this phone? and if not which are the non official ones?
hello, things are a bit sparse for the Redmi 6 but you can try the mi-globe tool to create a ROM and remove/add bits & bobs.

no cstm rom? there r worser probs if u think 2b the owner of xiaomi phone u've buyed!
Hello Apesgrapes, thanx for your tip! i took a look at the mi-globe tool, never saw it before and seems cool
Hey since you are the only soul that answered me please, i need another tip... really hope you can help me
i spent the lasts interminabe 15 days waiting to unlock this phone and after waiting all these 360 hours with great patience came the great day but with big suprise i had another gift from this beloved chineese company... i tried yo unlock again with this ugly mi unlock program to finaly receive this rewarding gift: "Couldn't unlock"
and i thought "but why?!!?!???"
simple: trying keeping calm i saw that the reason was where? right there below the message... written how?? obviously in chineese language and it was this:
手机使用未达到指定时间,无法解锁.
and you think that anyone could make a copy and paste in a translator?? obviously not because the chineese reason is not copyable....
anyway the translation from simplyfied chineese is this: "The phone has not been used for the specified time and cannot be unlocked."
so the point is: specified were? do i have to use it since when before having xiaomi's permission? at this point will they ever give it or bother telling you that they will not? (i used the phone more for two days and tried again but answer is still the same, hope that tomorrow after the next 72h might unlock but not hoping really anything too soon before that i throw the phone in the wc and pour all my quite right anger upon it (or maybe wiser solution might be selling it quickly because it's brand new too)
can you give me a tip to shorten this time or have an idea if i have to wait other 14 days (that'll be a huge month of time)??
thanks for any unlocking tip suggestion - please help me even if at the moment i'm quite sure that i'll never buy a xiaomi phone again in my life!!, but at this point please help me to unlock it the same!!
hello, i don't think i had that problem. I used an english version of the unlock tool from here: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262904004420
you could give that a try and maybe the message will be more sensible (i think i tried before the time was up and it told me how long i had to wait).
good luck!

Hey Guys I have been using OnePlus 8 (instantnoodle) for a couple months now and I am loving this phone ever since I got it. It would be a great help to OnePlus 8 users if they get a chance to test a super stable ROM like Pixel Experience. The kernel sources are out there and I know someone would create the ROM which would be a great help to the users who don't like OxygenOS.

Yeah it will happen eventually, but those request aren't really useful, if a Dev want to maintain this ROM for us, he'll do when he has time (that's a big job). So please don't post ROM request, try to build one or wait till someone does it.

I posted a request to aware a Dev who is really interested in making this ROM bcoz I thought if more people request a Dev then the Dev will eventually have more interest for creating the thing that the people have requested him/her to do.

Hi everyone, I've just bought my oneplus 7 pro gm1913 today and I want to ask you some advices about modding this phone... First of all I want to unlock bootloader and flash TWRP and after that:
I want to install gcam, which version do you think it's better?
I'm on Oxygen OS 10.0.10.GM21BA, you advise me to change to a custom ROM or to stay on oxygen? Custom rom for guacamole works on my gm1913 version?
Is it recommended to flash another custom kernel or to stay with stock? Which kernel is better in your opinion?
Sorry for my english and for all these questions, I'm a newbie and I want to learn from you with more experience than me.
Thanks in advance!

welcome to your awesome phone.
1. The stock rom is quite powerful and attractive, and a lot of us on here like it. If you root the phone, then you can freeze/uninstall some of the stock stuff that you may not like or need.
2. The Smurf kernel is absolutely silky smooth on the phone, and it lets you enjoy the awesome battery life. Other kernels are good too, and you may just have to try them out; that's the response you will always get when you ask for an opinion.
to root your phone and get twrp, there is an amazing guide in one of the pinned guide posts by arden144 or GoodSoul.
Here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...unlock-twrp-root-and-update.3940368/#poststop
that's your starting point. You might want to take over the air (OTA) updates first before doing the root. Your phone's latest firmware version is 10.3.8 from a week ago.
Good luck, read, search, and then ask.

Congrats to your new phone! Here are some thoughts from a two-year-user that are nowhere to be taken as axiom.
I tried Gcam a few times. I reemember it being a lot of fiddling to get the aux cameras working via Magisk module or flashable zip in twrp. Even then the results of gcam were worse than the stock camera. I made this journey three times and back and OOS camera always won no matter the config I used in gcam.
As for the OS itself, OxygenOS is comfortably close to AOSP and the tweaks made by oneplus feel really nice. It's close to the pixel experience. I would say stay on OOS and wait and see if there is something feature missing you absolutely need. When you want to switch to a custom rom, just check the corresponding thread here in XDA and choose the one you like the most. Mosts of them are still actively supported. One thing you should know is that TWRP backups/restores can break easily if not all stars are aligned perfectly, so be careful to trust those unconditionally.

Thank you very much for your advices!!
So i wanted to ask if any developer is interested in this "OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G" that is the exact ne of the phone.. so if anyone knows how to make an ROM also i feel it's great for us...
Thank you for replying ..
Guys should give my things more attention. If there is no one than they should read a thing about this device..
No TWRP or any recovery exists for it so far. Otherwise you could try a GSI on it but I won't be until twrp supports it.
I see.. well that's fine.. good job
