Launcher pro plus and google play question... - General Questions and Answers

So, the other day I went to the Google play store to re-download the launcher pro homescreen and plus unlocker, (that i paid for) but couldn't find it... so, i went online, and from one of the few not bad APK sites, found the app, went into ES File Explorer, selected the app, and clicked the "open in playstore" link, and it still couldn't or wouldn't find it... what can I do, as I'd rather not download the unlocker from some sketchy site if it would be illegal, and I try to avoid sketchy download sites anyways, as a rule... would it be illegal for someone to post a copy of the unlocker, if it is indeed removed from the play store, and the launcher itself as well???
Boy do I wish I still had my backup I made, as I wanted to see if I could get it to work on my blackberry playbook

I would like to thank xanthrax for moving my question to the appropriate spot in the forum... i didnt know exactly where to put it or what it was classed as, questionwise, and when searching my question on Googl,e came up with an unrelated answer from my original posting spot, and that part of the forum was labeled apps and games or something like, so. i figured it looked like a good spot...

[Q] Android Market Missing Some Apps

I did the Market fix and was able to get access to a somewhat working Market.
I signed on with my main account where my Nexus One's apps are also tied to but when I went to 'My Apps' in the new Market screen, there were only two listed... No Signal Alert Pro and Battery Indicator Pro.
They're both paid apps, and I can't find any of the others through searching for them either.
LauncherPro is missing, as is the other 112 apps that I should be able to find. Angry Birds is missing too, even though I never downloaded it in the first place.
Is there any way to get around this?
EDIT:
I'm also unable to download AppBrain through the browser or through my computer. I might be able to get some more of the ones I want back if I could.
Reapply the market fix here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=845175 and follow it step by step dont skip anything. You should get most of your apps back.
I still use beta 3 and fix market already,

It worked!
Well, sort of. I got all my paid apps back, that's really good! But, all the rest of them, my free downloads, are gone still (I was looking in 'My Apps').
I just searched for LauncherPro and that's there.
So, there are some free apps in the Market (though, I downloaded this one to my Nexus One, and since they're on the same account, shouldn't it show up there too)?
YouTube also doesn't show up in 'My Apps' either, and it is obviously on both my phone and my GTablet.
You have to remember your Nexus One is Market approved the G Tablet is not Market approved as of yet.

Yeah, and that's a bummer...
Anyway, during the last few hours, I was able to get Appbrain onto my GTablet using the Market (searching for it actually made it come up).
Then, using their website, I added all the non-GPS-or-Phone-type apps to my new 'GTablet' list and they downloaded and successfully installed (this was after doing a single reboot)-- they all also showed on the Market too.
I got LauncherPro back (too bad, I might have to pay again to get the Pro features back) and most of the other cool apps I had before (minus the phone-related-or-GPS-location apps).
Except for:
TV.com (as someone else mentioned; too bad I loved watching this on my Nexus One)
TubeMate (the regular site works well enough through Skyfire )
Nexus Revamped Live Wallpaper (I'll find something cooler, like in that thread around here)
and that's it. Everything mostly works (had to remove a few that just gave black screens, only 3 of them) and you can see my app list right here:

Your device is not compatible with the version

Running and ICS / CM9 ROM on my Kindle Fire.
"Your device is not compatible with the version" when trying to download Fandango Movies for Tablets from Google Play.
If somebody would post the APK, that would be fantastic!
If somebody would explain why I get this message for this app and other apps on Google, play I would appreciate it. Is it resolution or LCD density? It would be nice of Google to give an explanation of the "not compatible" reason
Thanks!
I don't know this particular forum's rules in regards to posting "free" apks but the reason has something to do with the build.prop file and the fact google play does not recognize the kindle fire as compatible device because "technically" you shouldn't be able to access the Google Play store. A quick google search for "fandango tablet apk" yielded many positive results and you could always side load it until someone else that knows the rules better for this particular section posts and the apk.
I'm pretty sure its OK to post free apks, and yes a search brings up many links for fandango tablet app but they are all links to the play store. I am also interested in this apk if someone can post it.
Good luck with this. I wasted my time finding the APK for HBO Go yesterday, even backtracking versions. At the end of the day, it really wasn't compatible and would not run.
Also running CM9 on the Kindle, for whatever that is worth.

good to know about HBO go, but many apps that say not compatible do work, like NFL for tablets and USA today etc. So its worth a shot.

[App][Share] Market Unlocker

I had earlier posted this in the Galaxy Ace Themes and Apps section, now posting in Android Themes and Apps forum for greater benefit of users-
"Hey, all.
I was just browsing the web when I found an app- Market Unlocker
If you're not living in USA, you probably don't have access to some pretty cool apps like Vevo etc.
This app converts the market app of your country to Android market of USA (or any other country for that matter) and back with just one click. You can choose different carriers like Sprint, Verizon, T-mobile etc.
Using this app you can even access Amazon appstore (not sure, haven't tested yet)
I cannot post any links as I got the .apk from a friend
(Google will help you there)
I am in no way related to this app, and do not hold responsibility for damage that may come to your device using it.
Full credit to developer.
I just shared it cause I liked it pretty much and thought you guys would as well.
If you did, just spare a second and press that thanks button.
Peace."
Can also change proxy, now.

[APP] My apps banned from Play Store back online

Hi all,
I had a few apps on the Play Store some months ago, which got removed after Google decided to ban me from the Play Store for who knows what reason. Apparently the cause was the "sexy" nature of the apps, which still doesn't explain why my app got kicked out and so many apps that are much worse than mine still live there.
Well, anyway, I've decided to put them all back online on a website for users to download, so if you're interested in them feel free to download them and give me some feedback! All the apps have a brief descriptions and screenshots:
drfeelgoodsw . appspot . com (sorry, being a newbie no link allowed...)
They're all apps to quickly access galleries of well known sexy and gossip websites (Front Magazine, The Sun Page 3, Egotastic and so on), and they all allow you to mark those galleries as favourites, save them on your SD card, etc. Nothing fancy but I hope you'll enjoy them nevertheless! If you have any suggestion on how to improve them, or just know some other website you'd like a similar app to be made for, I'd love to hear it from you
They must have been deleted again because nothing comes up in a search for them

Sorry, I should have been clearer... by "back online" I actually meant they were available again on the web page I created for the purpose, not on the Play Store. I tried publishing them on Android PIT after they were removed from the Play Store, but that only lasted a few weeks, as apparently Android PIT only hosts apps that are also on the Play Store (quite silly of them, considering they're supposed to be an alternative market, but anyway...). I'm looking for other markets to publish the apps on, but until then the apps are available for download on the page I linked in my previous post. Those apps automatically look for updates using a JSON string on the same page, so updates should be easy to keep track of even without a Market in place.
No feedback? Either the apps are perfect the way they are, or they really suck!!

Also, I suspect that people are getting a bit wary of sideloading apks when they could be malware. That's unfortunately a level of trust you lost when you were banned from the play store.

Oh, I hadn't thought about that...
Well, if that can help, I can post a screenshot of the mail from Google describing their exact reason why I got banned, which had nothing to do with malicious behaviour in my app. That said, anyone can just monitor the traffic my app generates, and see that, apart from an update check at the beginning (a GET to retrieve a JSON file), the only connections are towards the website each app is wrapping. I would be quite dumb to post malicious apps on an expert den of Androiders like XDA Developers anyway ehehe
Anyway, if that can help I ca post the complete source code of one of the apps to let people check that everything's fine. The core of the apps is mostly the same (activities, sqlite database, image cache, httpclient+jsoup), apart from differences related to their structure (e.g., Page3 has much more activities and choices than GQ), so that should help understand I'm not hijacking anything. Of course, you could object there is no guarantee the code I'm posting is exactly the one used to generate the APKs, as we'd be back to the trust issue at the beginning...
Well, if there's any way I convince those in doubt that I'm in good faith just let me know. About the Play Store, unfortunately there's no way I can get back there. In the mail I received, I was told I was banned and that I could not open a new account to publish the apps again, so that's out of the question. Android PIT only accepts apps that already are on the store, so no go either. I tried other markets like Androlib and SlideMe, but both failed to send me the confirmation mails I needed to confirm the account, so I'm wondering if they're even a viable solution for developers right now. I've already discarded the Amazon App Store option, as there's an annual fee the likes of which only Apple could conceive. Anyone knows more alternatives to publish apps?

Appstore troubles

Hey everybody. I wasn't sure about the right place to sumbit this thread so I went for the General one. I'm having some store-troubles.
I recently got this new device, a generic greek brand. It came without the playstore on it. I tried a lot of ways to make the playstore work on this device but the best state I got it to, is, having it installed on the device but whenever I may try to download an app on it, it will crash. That was no problem me, I mostly needed it to use other apps that just "need" the store to be installed. For my everyday use I shuffled through AmazonAppStore-1mobile-Aptoide n such.
Now the problem I'm facing is with certain free apps that I try to install, the last one being Heroes of O&C. It's a free app on the Google store, but since I can't use it I search on my other stores. Found it on 1mobile,downloaded it, ran it, runs license check and drops me. Found it on aptoide, same deal. That's happened before on other apps I tried to install through these store, and everytime they fail. See, I don't understand how this works. They are all free apps, and they all fail a license check and ask my to BUY the dam app(?). So then I'll have to resort to google, find a legit apk+obb combo out there and download it. But what happens when you want to go online? Some of em won't support it, or even support updates on themselves. By the way i didn't mention it before but the device isn't rooted and I doubt there's a certain way to root this one (nor would i risk it for the time being).
So what I'm finally asking of you are these two things:
1) I want whatever possible way you can think of making the playstore work without having a rooted device
2) perhaps any "more" legit store I haven't found already?
Thanks in advance peeps
