Rollback to emui 4.1 for best battery - Honor 6X ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Develo

There is no rollback package for honor 6x india version so this guide may be helpful.
when i bought this device 2 years before battery life is amazing. it charges faster and drains slower on emui 4.1 then i have upgraded to emui 5 and flashed all the available custom roms also upgraded to emui 8 then tried lot of android pie gsi roms but none of these roms gave good battery life compared to emui 4.1
when on emui 4.1 sound mods and xposed works but after upgrading to emui 5 xposed gone after upgrading to emui 8 sound mods gone.
if you are in emui 8 use huru to downgrade to emui 5.
if you are in emui 5 then install elite twrp recovery.
then follow this guide to debrand to BLN-L21
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/how-to/guide-successful-debranding-to-bln-t3701050
all you need to do is flash elite twrp. now extract the update.zip then copy the update.app into dload floder in external sd card then extract oeminfo of bln-l21c432b360 then rename oeminfo to oeminfo.img then go to elite twrp go to install select install img select oeminfo after flashing hit reboot then press and hold volume up and down it will start installing. after that do factory reset then extract data file contents to dload folder and flash using volume up and down buttons. now you will have Bln-l22c432B360 build number.
now follow this tutorial to rollback to emui 4.1
https://fonegyaan.com/downgrade-honor-6x-android-nougat-marshmallow/
after downgrade to emui 4.1 battery life was amazing. it lasts very longer. i have tested and compared with all emui versions. on emui 8 overnight battery drain is upto 10% on emui 5 its upto 5% drain on overnight but in emui 4.1 which is zero. it stays at same exact percentage where i left at night. gsi roms also giving best battery life but they took upto 4 hours to charge the battery but emui 4.1 charges really faster and stays longer. viper4android and xposed working fine. pubg mobile sometimes lag there is a noticeable performance difference in pubm but pubm Korean version runs smooth as butter.

what is the build no. after downgrade to marshmallow??

Help needed

download emui 8 india version from firmware finder. then use hwota 8. try both methods like using script and sd card if none of those work do formate data and flash again. if your device is not detected on you pc then disable driver signature enforcement on your pc. still not working then use huru to flash stock emui 8.
i will not recommend huru untill hwota 8 not working because small mistake in huru your device will brick. my device got bricked two times with huru. but its good for downgrade from emui 8 to emui 5.

Rollback EVA-L09/L19, from Android 7.0 EMUI 5.0 to Android 6.0 EMUI 4.1

Hello !
I found on the Romanian Huawei page this package, used to go back from 7.0 Nougat EMUI 5.0 to 6.0 Loli EMUI 4.1.
UPDATE: for both L09 and L19
It contains a pdf with instructions.
Advice from other users: use an older version of Android 6 MM
I am not responsible for any bricks.
http://consumer.huawei.com/ro/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=91624&key0=Mobile%20Phones&key1=Smartphones&key2=EVA-L19
DOWNLOAD
Hit " Thanks" if this helped you
INSTRUCTIONS from the pdf file:
HUAWEI
EVA-LXX EMUI5.0+Android7.0 rollback to EMUI4.1+Android 6.0
Operation instruction
The instruction guides user to roll back from Android7.0 to Android 6.0
1) Roll back operation includes twice SD card update, only through intermediate package
EVA-LXXC900B300, like below:
2) Allow roll back to Huawei official stable release.
Precautions:
1. Make sure the current system version on your phone is an official Huawei version based on Android 7.0. If your phone has been updated with a non-official version, the rollback may fail and even cause unexpected problems.
2. Make sure your phone system version has not been unlocked or rooted.
3. Your personal data will be erased during the rollback. Be sure to back up all your important data beforehand.
4. Prepare a micro SD card with available storage space at least 8 GB.
5. Make sure the battery level is higher than 30%.
6. The rollback includes two local ROM flashing procedures, first from Android 7.0 to the intermediate package version and then from the intermediate package version to Android 6.0.
Step 1: Back up data.
Your personal data will be erased during the rollback. Be sure to back up all your important data beforehand.
To back up data to your micro SD card, go to Tools > Backup, touch backup, and follow the onscreen instructions.
Step 2: Update your phone to the intermediate package version.
Obtain the EVA-LXX intermediate package (UPDATE.APP) by visiting the official EMUI website or calling the customer service hotline.
Load the UPDATE.APP package to the dload folder under your micro SD card root directory. If there is no dload folder under the directory, please create one. (Do not load the UPDATE.APP package to the internal storage.)
When the phone is powered off, press and hold the volume up, volume down, and power buttons simultaneously to enter forcible update mode. Release the buttons only after the rollback starts. Do not operate the phone during the rollback.
Step 3: Confirm the intermediate package version.
When the phone is powered on, go to Settings > About phone and check whether the displayed version number contains EVA-LXXC900B300.
Step 4: Update the phone from the intermediate package version to Android 6.0.
Download an older version of Android 6.0 full package (UPDATE.APP) for the EVA-LXX from the EMUI official website. Load the UPDATE.APP package to the dload folder under your micro SD card root directory. (Do not load the UPDATE.APP package to the internal storage.)
When the phone is powered off, press and hold the volume up, volume down, and power buttons simultaneously to enter forcible update mode. Release the buttons only after the rollback starts. Do not operate the phone during the rollback.
Step 5: Confirm the system version and restore data( better not).
When the phone is powered on, go to Settings > About phone and check whether the displayed EMUI version is EMUI 4.1 and Android version is 6.0.
Go to Tools > Backup, locate the desired backup record, and follow the onscreen instructions to restore.
It's everywhere now. Here in Bulgaria too. So hard to go back. Wish HiSuite was better and just connect your phone and install stable version, something like iTunes. I am not so advanced on Android, recently switched from iPhone and really want to test the Nougat on this beautiful phone, but if it's bad I will have to buy SD card and do all this crap just to get to stable os... Ain't worth it.
P.S: What this part means "6. The rollback includes two local ROM flashing procedures, first from Android 7.0 to the intermediate package version and then from the intermediate package version to Android 6.0." What is intermediate package version?
it means that it's a 2 step downgrade.
first you flash the update.app in the zip attached (intermidiate package ).
then you flash your desired version of Android 6.
it's not that difficult. and you can do it from the internal memory also via the 3 button combo method
It worked with my L19C432 that was running L19C432B322. Thanks.
Confirmed that it works on L09C432 to, so it's not just for L19.
I can go back to 6.0 but I can not apply theme how to solve please help

Wonderful news, thank you!
It doesn't work with me : the rollback of B300 to B182 failed.
EDIT : In fact, it didn't work because I didn't have enough battery...
Trying this now I'm L09 C432, what a ballache!

Still really hate this phone, well done Huawei

Did you found a solution? I am experiencing the same problem. After downgrading to Android 6 themes don't work. Also i've installed L19C432B180 and when searching for an update its saying its the latest version. I upgraded to Nougat from B182 wich was an OTA update and now i can receive it anymore.
I think Nougat did something to system partion and now after downgrade not everything its working properly.
I'm on L09C432 in UK.. and was considering upgrading..
Is 7.0 N That bad... Ive read its a Leaked version, which usually means Beta... but Ive read a few forums where people are rolling back
Would you recommend staying on B182 for now...
The official beta is quite good, but you can't get in the list anymore. From what i have read, the leaked one is not that ok. I recommend 182 for now

I had a nightmare with up and downgrade last night. I thought i've broken my new phone but i've managed it to get it working again without any problems (themes also do work here).
What have i all done, for the reason someone else have troubles with downgrading.
Tip: Do not try to backup anything, it will most likely will make things even worse. Wipe and flash without later importing backups from different builds.
My phone: P9 (L19) DualSim
New phone, directly unlocked bootloader and removed OEM protection
Installed TWRP 3.0.2.0
Opened recovery and installed directly the BETA image for my L19
Until this point all works fine. BETA image is buggy, keyboard not working and freezes sometimes
Decided to go back to stock
TWRP is not working anymore, stuck in "Your device is booting"
Always running into Huawei eRecovery, where you can do noting. Repair always fails
Downloaded latest stock image for my L19 and tried the here suggested steps
Note: Before doing the "dload" flash you need to flash stockrecovery, as far as i know and other threads suggest it too
First Update.app flash (from the zip file here) worked fine
Second Update.app flash from the stock rom stuck at 5% and closed with an error
Hours of trying different things, all not working (Other TWRP recovery version with encryption support, wipes, resets, etc...)
Last try: Download an older stock image of my L19. Flash successfully done. Phone boots now into stock rom :good:
Locked Bootloader again (i guess it have been done by the stock rom flash)
Now i'm completely back to stock - Which is currently the best available rom for this phone, IMHO.
Conclusion: The most headache i got from downloading the wrong (too new) stock image. Trying an older one have solved my flash problems.

I found the same procedure to work. What really puzzled me was that the flashing of update.app "crashed" at 5%. I also tried all sort of solutions, with only new error messages as result.
The final solution to flash an older image was not exactly obvious
i will update OP. thank you for sharing
I tried 2 versions, still gives me errors. Could someone provide the exact version of the rom used in rollback?

Emui 8 with volte bln-l22 released

Long waiting came to an end. EMUI 8 india version leaked into firmware finder!
Everything working
Jio VLOTE calls working
idea volte working
performance and battery life is soo good.
Flashing Instructions
From EMUI 5 india to EMUI 8 india
WARNING im not responsible for anything happens to your device
unlock your frp (go to about phone tap 7 times on build no then enter developer options enable oem unlock)
unlock bootloader
now download HWOTA7 from this thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/development/hwota7-hwota8-honor-6x-t3792601
download firmware from these links
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G3196/g1699/v154301/f1/full/update.zip
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...channel_in/update_full_BLN-L22_channel_in.zip
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...01/f1/full/public/update_data_full_public.zip
it contains three files rename them as suggested in hwota thread then keep them in update folder in hwota.
Now keep then phone in fastboot ( switch off the phone press vol down connect usb cable)
now hit update. bat it will install twrp then asks you to reboot to twrp
press volume up and power button phone will reboot keep holding then volume up and release the power button now it says booting then release volume up button
after entering twrp press enter if its not detected your phone then go to mount disable mtp
now it asks to choose via sd card or script choose script then it asks to change region or change firmware
select change firmware
now it loads emui 8 firmware into your phone and it automatically reboot your phone into dload and install emui 8.
if booting takes more than 5 mins then then boot into recovery do factory reset.
From EMUI 8 china to EMUI 8 india
download huru from this thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
then stock recovery from this
https://mega.nz/#!cbJFAIQD!qvp1KnZ0qxlg6nHDFmpM5qyZ9QUVIDe5PoZE0BQf8fs
then twrp from this
https://mega.nz/#!a81EDZAR!2-9yPFh3reghkGcfSl3nRIJhHGkP8fqDsgUG66ewjkk
Download india oem info from this
https://mega.nz/#!eBECSYKZ!rte1IxPYuw3Y0NVcySOFy23tXWXoR6vBBo46iJ6JlEw
now download emui 8 india stock rom from firmware finder
rename them as update. zip
update_all_hw.zip
update_data_public.zip
then create a folder on sd card keep these three files along with stock recovery. img and huru. zip
Now flash twrp via fastboot then reboot to twrp flash oem info zip if it fails to install then extract oem info then select install img on twrp select extracted img flash then select only huru. zip then swipe to install it will ask you to hit vol down in 10secs then press vol down it will flash stock emui8 then go back to main screen select reboot recovery then do factory reset
for first time its asks need verified google account then again hit factory reset it will do factory reset then reboot.
it will stay at bootlogo screen for 30-40 secs then boots.
your bootloader will be locked again even after flashing via huru so be prepared and need to enable oem unlock on developer options.
Good luck
FYI: If you play PUBG you may noticed lag in emui 5, china emui 8 & elemental rom but there is no lag in india emui 8 & gsi roms and the good news is india emui 8 consumes less battery for PUBG game than gsi roms you may notice 40% difference in battery.
Fix for incomplete flashing via huru
If your themes not working then you have flashed it incompletely follow these steps to make it perfect.
Download HWOTA
If your bootloader locked then go to developer options enable oem unlock and USB debugging.
Now go to fastboot unlock your bootloader.
Now go to stock recovery do factory reset then reboot to FASTBOOT now open HWOTA 8 copy firmware files in update folder and rename them as suggested in hwota thread.
Now open update. Eng if its not working then open update. Bat press 2 hit enter then again enter it will install twrp now unplug USB cable hold the volume up and power button reboot to twrp recovery.
Now goto wipe then formate data by typing yes it should formate data without any errors if it shows errors at beginning with red colour then you need to flash stock recovery again do complete factory reset then flash twrp do format it will do without errors.
Now go to main screen of twrp hit reboot to recovery
After booting to twrp now press enter two times on hwota 8 tool now select 2 hit enter then select 1 hit enter then it will show same brand bln then press enter it will start copying firmware files then it will automatically reboot to dload and starts flashing. remove USB cable after it starts flashing.
After update finishes hold vol up button when it's rebooting.
Now it will boot to emui recovery do factory reset. If it stuck at 99% do it again then reboot now you will have fully working smooth emui 8.
ROOT FOR EMUI 8
download twrp then flash this magisk you will have root.
https://mega.nz/#!a5EUBbyL!L3oqIV22YBUKzk9buLenlL8Bks-g--Pq8MmGgtkbZcY
Currently there is no sound mod for emui 8 if you try to flash viper or dolbyatmos they will corrupt system files and you have to reflash emui 8 via hwota 8.

Reasons for me are:
No xposed framework on EMUI 8, so no track control using volume keys and other tweaks I had before
Missing new Honor/Android security updates while we wait for official release
TWRP for EMUI 8 not loading all partitions, so not possible to do a full backup
I've tried to use the dload method, but erecovery for EMUI 5 won't flash as it is a different layout
TWRP is no good, as it can't mount the data partition

I used hurupdater to downgrade from 8 to 7. Also, you can use HWOTA. Both methods are not guaranteed if you make a mistake along the way (it can brick your phone or end up with a frp lock - there are always ways to fix those issues though).
Works perfectly, thank you.
Used hurupdater, copied EMUI 5 zip files to SD card, along with hur zip file.
Into TWRP, and installed hur zip file.
Reboot, with inevitable bootloop, so went into stock recovery and did a Reset.
Then booted fine and with adb installed TWRP, Magisk and Xposed again.

eRecovery, not the normal one. In eRecovery you can set your WiFi and download b407
Does anyone know how to downgrade from oreo?
Connect the phone to pc and in HiSuite look for updates. There will be an option to go back to B407. I didn't test it. Just saw the option was there.

Nope, you would just have done step 2 of the following post, you also have to do step 3 then:
Thread '[HONOR 6x EMUI 8.X Oreo] Installing EMUI 8.X on Honor 6X EMUI 5.X and RAM extend via SD Card' https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-emui-5-x-and-ram-extend-via-sd-card.4237453/

ok, there is a more recent EMUI stock firmware (B520):
Honor6X-BLN-L22HNC675CUSTC675D2B520 (8.0.0.520) - Shared with pCloud
Keep all your files safe, access them on any device you own and share with just the right people. Create a free pCloud account!
e.pcloud.link
you can use https://www.dropbox.com/s/via9iigwa5q37rf/HWOTA_BLN_Eng.zip
to install it. Some infos about that here.
You should be able to use dload official update, and somehow "Huawei updater" software or "Huawei Firmware Finder" soft or app, also to instal it.
BUT ANYWAY, you should have stock recovery already with the build you install to get EMUI 8 !!! Did you check? That would be the case, after installing the above B520.
If not, look inside those B520 zip files (using "Huawei update extractor" software for update.app if I remember well, google "Huawei update extractor" for all infos), you will get recovery .img files. Flashable with Fastboot or twrp recovery.
But I thnik you are already on stock recovery, or will be after B520 update

Hello, I am having trouble using the DC-Unlocker software. I am trying to follow this tutorial from their official website to unlock the bootloader of my Huawei Mate 9 Lite (BLL-L23) but HiSuite does not seem to work. It shows a pop-up saying "HiSuite will be installed in your device" and then another saying "Instalation error. System version is too old". And then nothing happens, and HiSuite doesn't even recognize my phone.
I have Android 6.0 Marshmallow and I'm trying to upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat. Also, I have EMUI 4.1.3, and if I'm not mistaken, I should be able to upgrade it to EMUI 5.0.
EDIT: HiSuite seems to have installed the drivers 'Android Adapter PCUI' and 'DBAdapter Reserved Interface' despite the error, but not the 'Android Adapter Modem #2' one, and I don't know how to install it. I'd like to know I have everything needed to proceed successfully before paying the 4.00 €.

the tutorial you're following is the good one.
What is the OS version of your computer ? try another one!
Try also to install diectly the huwei drivers without hisuite:
Huawei_Android_USB_Driver
MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

Thank you for replying.
My PC runs on Windows 10, so I don't think that is a problem. I could try a Virtual Machine with another one though, which one do you recommend?
As for the instalation, do I have to uninstall my current drivers in order to install the ones you are providing me? Or does it not matter? I will try them ASAP.
P.S.: I found this thread in the DC-Unlocker forums of someone saying not all phones have the 'Android Adapter Modem #2' drivers and it should be possible to read the bootloader code of a Honor 6X without it (I am assuming that Mate 9 Lite == Honor 6X at this point). Should I trust this?
I apologize for the amount of questions, you just seem like an experienced person, and I thank you again for taking the time and having the patience of answering.
