Hello all!
I searched and found that TP-Link Neffos C7 doesn't have his own Forum, so I'm asking here.
Thing is, System updated to Android Oreo 8.1.0 and I was happy with Nougat 7.0. However, TP-Link removed the C7_NFUI7.0 ROM for this device on their support website, so I had to get the 7.0 Stock ROM from another website (I tried to contact support several times but they don't even bother to answer).
After trying to downgrade the Android Version from 8.1.0 to 7.0 via Stock Recovery, the system can't apply the downgrade.
I always get this message:
Code:
Android Recovery
Neffos/TP910A/C7
8.1.0/O11019/2756
user/release-keys
System check SUCCESS!!

E:Error in /sideload/package.zip (Status 7)

(I've had two Xperia phones before, and both with custom ROMs gotten from here, so I consider that I'm not that noob with the use of Recovery)
I tried to search the web on this error message, but the "solution" of changing the name in the update script doesn't work either.
I gave up on downgrading via recovery, so I tried to do it via SP Flash Tool. However, I need the Scatter.txt file that comes with the ROM and the one that comes with the Stock ROM doesn't work, SP Flash Tool gives the error message that this file is not valid.
I tried to obtain it via MTK Droid Tools but even after installing MTK and ADB Drivers, MTK Droid Tools doesn't recognize my device.
Any help will be very appreciated.
i faced same problem.. please help.......

Hey, So i was trying to root my motorola droid maybe 2 weeks ago but it didnt work, and i didnt really care enough to try again (i have a mac and it was a pain to find a windows computer). I thought everything would be fine, but for some reason when i tried to update my phone to 2.2 (i found the update.zip on androidcentral) it said that it failed, and for some reason when i restart holding down the X, it says:
Android system recover <2e>
Patched by SirPsychoS (0.00.3b)
is there a way to change that back to the regular one? or am i screwed hahaha
Also when i hit "allow update.zip installation' and then 'install /sdcard/update.zip (deprecated) i get this:
--Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
Installation aborded.
What do you guys think i should do? finish rooting it (can i have directions please ) or is there a way to get it back to how i got it? I think i alreayd tried to factory reset it
Thanks
Assuming you can boot into recovery, find your original ROM on the net, if available and re-flash with that to be un-rooted and back at square-one.
Could be the ROM you flashing now is not for your network provider, or you haven't successfully rooted.
I'm HTC myself so would use a goldcard (google it) to use a generic rom with my vodafone phone. Don't know if goldcards work with motorola.
hmm i cant seem to find it, could i just stick with what i have now and receive the 2.2 froyo update when it comes through OTA?
Depends how you rooted (or tried to root) if you flashed a rooted Rom in the root process it probably won't be updating from the official Motorola servers.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I don't think i even flashed a rom, i tried that screenshot program (i cant remember the name of it, but you need root to use it) and it wouldnt work so i dont actually have root. I think that i tried to flash it with a rooted 2.1 rom but it failed. what do you guys suggest i do?
ok so i figured out that it was because my mac unzipped the file, but when i try to install it i get this:
Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
Verifying current system...

Ive tried like 4 different downloads and its just not working :S
So I unrooted my Shield Tablet a while back without changing the stock recovery, and found out that whenever I try to install an OTA update it shows an error during instalation, rendering me unable to aquire the 2.2 and 2.2.1 updates. Already tried unrooting it, locking back the bootloader and so on. I can still sideload updates to the tablet but would like to gain back the convenience of OTA updates. Has anyone encountered similar issues? Could anyone help me fix this issue?
Saw the probable solution on another post.

In these forums somewhere I read that the unroot was done using Super su's full unroot option. However it apparently left behind a few files that caused the OTA to fail. So what he did was to uninstall Supersu, reinstall Supersu and update the binary. Then use full unroot function... Maybe it will work for you if you have unrooted using SUpersu...
Unrooting, locking the bootloader, and flashing the stock recovery doesn't allow you to take OTA's.
There is THIS thread, providing OTA files that can be flashed in TWRP or CWM. And are official files from Nvidia.
You have to flash these every time there's an OTA, or just flash a full stock image through fastboot, and never root or flash a recovery.
I'm having similar issues. I was rooted with CMW recovery but unable to install OTA update. I unrooted, and did a factory reset of the OS.
I tried to install stock recovery 2.2.1 (found on another thread here) with adb sideload command with the following result:
"cannot read "update.zip" (I tried the original filename and changed it to update.zip. Neither worked.) To test adb, I installed Supersu via the same method.
Trying to install the OTA update I receive the following:
Invalid command argument
Finding update package...
E: unknown volume for path [@/cache/recovery/block.map]
E: Can't mount @/cache/recovery/block.map
Installation aborted
I do apologize if I've missed something. Some of the other threads I've been using to learn are many pages long. Any help is appreciated.

Download the full version and flash it manually thru any custom recovery.
Hey guys,
So for a couple of hours I've tried quite a few of guides, but I can't fix my problem.
I'm trying to flash the stock ROM from Oneplus, but I get an error that says the following (just typing everything so I don't miss anything for you guys)
Installing '/sdcard/Oneplus_Bacon_OxygenOS-201601190107.zip'
Checking for MD5 file
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
This package is for "Oneplus" devices, this is a "bacon"
E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/Oneplus_Bacon_OxygenOS-201601190107.zip'
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/Oneplus_Bacon_OxygenOS-201601190107.zip'
Updating partition details..."
I currently have no OS on. When I go to the Reboot button and press any of the buttons there, it firstly comes up saying that I have no OS installed. When clicking OK to that, it comes up with a message that my system is not rooted. I have an option to "Do Not Install" and the "Swipe to Install". The same thing happens no matter what I press (the phone just restarts instantly"
I'm running TWRP v2.7.0.0
Any help is greatly appreciated
Using TWRP to install stock rom's
In most cases TWRP cannot install "Stock" roms, mostly due to an issue with "updater scripts." If you want to use the Stock rom than you'll have to go back to the Stock recovery.
Side note: I wanted to use OxygenOS on mine; however, I wanted to keep it rooted so I found a "TWRP safe" version of OxygenOS online. Be cautious if you attempt that because you'll more than likely lose functionality of your Sim/Radio (will have to flash a baseband in the recovery) if you decide to flash another custom Rom over OxygenOS.
Use oneplus one flashtool or bacon toolkit to flast stock rom. Find in tools sections for flashtools
After receiving and installing the Oreo update on my international Mi Box, it's in a bootloop.
I don't have a custom recovery installed on it. I tried re-installing the update with the stock recovery.
But when I try to install it, it says "This package is for "once" devices; this is a "".". How can I fix it?
Removing the lines that check the model would obviously help, but as always: that won't install with the stock recovery...
It's my main device that enables me to watch tv shows, so I really hope you can help me!
Does anyone know a solution for this problem?
