Screen on time - Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Real Life Review

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

This is my usage today.. I'm on 50% brightness and Wifi from 8am-5pm and then LTE till just now... Mostly reading Reddit today and had about 40 mins or seeing videos and YouTube.. Really not impressed and lost on what to do to improve battery life..

How else is everyone else getting on with their sot?

Horrible. Switched back to mate 20 pro

Mine was having a maximum screen on time of 5 hrs and 30 mins on FHD+ display resolution. With the recent update, the battery life is improved to 7 and half hrs S.O.T with QHD+ display resolution. I'm quite satisfied now!

Love my SOT.. Best ever.. Everything to the max

I get 11 jours SoT on average. I bought my phone in Seoul, with 4500mAh battery capacity.

I have 11 SoT usually, very happy with performance. The negative point is the actual capacity is 4300mAh rather than the advertised 4500mAh

one ui 2.0 screen on time menu sucks though

[Q] Battery Life study over 12 hours

Hi Everyone,
I have been using CM12 Nightlies since they were out and have had better battery life than CM11s untill the last 2 weeks when battery life has gone half. With the same Usage, i now get to about 35% remaining over 6 hours , where earlier i would still have 60-65%.
I thought it was a passing thing with the nightlies but the problem did not go. Hence did a bit of testing today. Following are the results.
What is bothering me specifically is even basic usage of Facebook/Chrome is draining battery at 1% every 4 minutes or so.
I would like to know if this kind of battery drain is common or is it specific to my device.
This was mostly testing the idle battery time. I will be conducting a normal usage test tomorrow.
Please find attached the Better Battery Stats dump , Logcat, Screenshot & an excel file of all these entries for anyone who wants to compare.

thx
12h 42m on battery ? Lol sometimes I get 48h with 6h Screen on Time on my one plus
I prefer to have how many time OPO run on battery than how many time rest on battery ,same on KK
Same here:
You have to specify. Are you looking for screen on time ? (Gaming, browsing etc.) Or running on battery (all together, even when screen is off for example at night.) As I said, I can browse, play games , Facebook etc for maximum 6h every day. My phone runs about 24h on battery, however if I don't play games etc my OPO runs on battery for about 2 days. Hope this helps
Arf my english is bad but i try to explain
I have no problem with my battery life
Original battery life on LL (OPO)
Original battery life on S6
I would like to see the time use since last full charge same S6
On OPO LL at "use since last full charge" nothing but on S6 LL at use since last full charge you have the time on battery
It's possible on S6 maybye on OPO too
I hope you understand
UP!

Android System Battery High

Anyone have any tips on what I can disable on a stock non rooted device to get my Android System battery usage down? It's always on top and is usually in excess of 25%. As it stands I can't even get a day out of this thing with only 1.5 hrs of screen on time.
Maybe the battery is bad, phone is only a couple weeks old.
Oh and I should mention that there's no wakelocks or anything strange, it appears it's a legitimate battery drain. My screen brightness is low as well and today I never woke it up outside, just inside abient light. WiFi is off as well.

A thread all by myself, cool.
Today my battery has been unbelievable, only dropped 28% in 12 with plenty of use. I don't know what to think.
Same issue here.
I've had the phone for 5 days now.
First 3 were a blast with over 5 hours SOT.
I am now getting little over 2 hours SOT thanks to Android System.
Lonely threads come with expensive devices. No support, No Roms, No Development.
Anyhow, For your issue, Try minimizing the permissions of builtin apps. Disable autorun, and use greenify.

How do I get 9 hour SOT?

Last night I was streaming movies using showbox and mx player. Nothing disabled and noticed how good my battery was. 6 hours SOT with 35 percent left over.

A part of most tests performed on the S6 for battery endurance are done by streaming a video with a set amount of brightness (probably on the lower end). On most tests, the S6 gets 10+ hours of battery. Sounds fair that after 6 hours of streaming videos you can still get a decent percentage of battery remaining. While watching videos, the processor sits on the lowest (or lower) frequency of its set, so it consumes less power than when browsing (multiple touch inputs and load from the browser) or doing other activities. Getting 4+ hours of SOT on daily use usually requires excelent signal strength, disabling location and other -sometimes- useful services and limiting apps than sync constantly.
I have a new s6 being shipped to me this week but I'm hesitant to swap bcuz the new one might not have as good battery. Got a couple scratches on the aluminum on this one when I was drunk... Even though the case hides it it bugs me knowing they are there.

Battery Fast Degrade

I brought the device on May 11 since on that day i install accubattery app since it will monitor my battery's health. . i keep my battery often from 40%-80% charge to keep it good. but when i found out this thread on How to gauge your phone's battery capacity after months of usage https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS7/comments/694urh/how_to_gauge_your_phone_battery_capacity_after/ my battery seems degrading so fast -306 mah for 2 months.?? and my charging cycle is only 67. I didnt experience any overheating since i bought this. i also use normal charging because i think that fast charge wear the battery faster. . . Im abit OC of this phone since it is not removable. . Is the accubattery making this false reading ? or i got a damage battery? what do u think? please advice.

I'm sure that software isn't accurate at all.
bump
The other thing to keep in mind is that battery drain is almost always software related, and barring a bad battery, is rarely related to the hardware at all. If you have an app (or many apps) that create a bunch of wakelocks then your battery is going to crash and burn. I'll agree that my phone is brand new, but I stream music from Amazon Prime music ALL day and by 5 PM I'm at around 66%.
