My current phone is a Moto G 2014. The stereo mic and speaker is a really nice thing. I know Motorola unfortunately changed the G 2015 to Mono output. Did this happen to mic too? This detail is really seldom mentioned in technical data.
If somebody just wants to test: To record stereo on the G 2014 you need some app that identifies a camcorder if I understood right. Most apps are not capable to record stereo. It works fine using the Titanium recorder when recording mp3. Or just use the internal camera and record a video.
Thank you in advance!
Moto G 2015 have 2 microphones, one in the bottom speaker hole and the other near the 3.5mm jack. This is for noise cancellation.

Thank you for the answer - this makes hope that stereo recording could be possible. Could someone test it please?
Start Titanium recorder recording mp3 or the default Motorola Camera recording video. Speak "Left" in the left speaker and "right" in the right. Connect headphones and replay the result, carefully listening if the sides can acoustically be recognized.
Thank you in advance!

Yes, i have tested and the app records in stereo, just enabling stereo recording in settings.
Has anyone thought of activating the earpiece speaker somehow to be able to use it in conjunction with the bottom speaker for a stereo audio?
my s7edge had a sound mod that enabled it. here's the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/themes/req-dual-speaker-t3339809
hope we can get it to work on the pixel.
Hi
My phone felt down and the bottom speaker isn't working anymore and can't be fixed so i thought if there is any app or mod or framework to use with xposedinstaller to be able to control and redirect all the sounds to the top speaker because now it's not loud when i receive call probabaly because the phone rings from the bottom speaker and when when i get a call and put it on loudspeaker i can't hear anything because it's also probably from bottom speaker.
Thanks.
PS : The top speaker is working perfectly and is loud.
Can anyone answer ??
Hello there!
Well, the question is in the title... Mi Note 3 has a kind of stereo speakers, but the earpiece side has a much lower volume than the blaster on the bottom. There's any mod out there that raises the volume of the earpiece side when watching stereo content? Or the speaker itself isn't powerful enough? Cause I've seen other phones with similar configuration that had real balanced stereo sound.
Thanks in advance for any input.
Don't do it, you burn speaker.
