Today’s release of TextSecure is the final step in the transition from a private SMS app to a private asynchronous IM app that does not depend on SMS/MMS.
Using the lessons we’ve learned from the SMS environment over the past four years, we’ve developed an open protocol for asynchronous chat that enables private communication instantly with friends, private groups for realtime collaboration, and the ability to quickly and seamlessly share media privately – all without depending on SMS.
High Privacy, Low Friction
At Open WhisperSystems, our objective is to advance the state of the art for secure communication, but also to reduce the friction required for ordinary people to make use of it. We want everyone to have access to advanced secure communication methods that are as easy and reliable to use as making a normal phone call or sending a normal text message.
With an advanced ratchet, enhanced deniability, and an asynchronous orientation, we believe the TextSecure V2 protocol represents a significant step forward in what’s possible for the asynchronous chat environment today.
We’ve also made a substantial effort to simplify the typically difficult user experience that comes with end to end encrypted communication. The new TextSecure protocol doesn’t require a round trip key exchange process, eliminates half-open sessions, and is lightning fast – all without compromising forward secrecy or deniability. This creates an experience that takes encryption entirely out of the user’s way. A user simply sends a message, and it’s encrypted end to end, every time. Unlike other IM services, there is no distinction between “private” chats and “normal” chats. Private is normal.
Private Group Chat
The new TextSecure also introduces support for private group chat. Users can now create groups with a title and avatar icon, add their friends, join or leave groups, and exchange messages/media, all with the same end-to-end encryption properties pairwise TextSecure chats provide.
In keeping with our efforts to develop the most privacy preserving protocols possible, the server does not have access to group metadata such as lists of group members, the group title, or the group avatar icon.
An iMessage Experience
The new TextSecure for Android allows for two possible configurations. By default, TextSecure is configured as an “integrated” chat app with an “iMessage” like experience. TextSecure acts as a normal SMS/MMS app when communicating with non-TextSecure users, but will send messages encrypted over the data channel when the recipient is also a TextSecure user.
Like iMessage, TextSecure uses a color scheme to indicate which transport a message was delivered with. If the data channel is unavailable, messages can fall back to the SMS transport, and secure sessions can transparently migrate back and forth between the two transports.
A WhatsApp Experience
Alternately, users can configure TextSecure to function similar to WhatsApp, where messages are only ever sent or received over the data channel. In this configuration, communication is restricted exclusively to secure communication with other TextSecure users.
A Visual Refresh
We’ve also done a visual refresh of the entire app, adopting a more modern look and a new icon.
Connectivity Across Networks
The new TextSecure push transport is a federated protocol, and inter-operates transparently with the CyanogenMod deployment of the TextSecure protocol to their 10MM+ users a few months ago.
Now that the new TextSecure for Android is out, Christine and Fred assure us that TextSecure for iOS will be available in short order. The protocol includes support for users to have multiple devices, and Matt is working on a desktop client.

I use TextSecure since a few days before I had WisperPush, but I thought that it's a messenger like WhatsApp but i can only send messages via sms, if I deactivate my mobile network(airplane mode) and try to send a message via Wifi it doesn't work but a friend has also TS and we both has shared the key?
Edit: I've reinstalled it,... now it works
It would be nice if you can check if the message arrived, when you send it via internet.

Smart Protector is a security application for smart phones, tablet. Here are its major features :
1. Manage application accessing:
An expertise process occurs to make sure this application was installed by phone owner via gmail account and some appraisal services of Google. Ensure that the person who installed this application is the owner of the phone.
Password which is used to call and access the application at the first time after installing will be sent to Gmail, user will use it to call and setup the parameters of the application.
User setup a code to start the application, a password to access the application which nobody else can access and change the settings.
2. Manage calling.
Manage incoming and outgoing calls
Set a blacklist, block unwanted calls, prevent user from calling to blocked numbers.
Show the list of the blocked calls, user can view the detail information.
Show the list of incoming and outgoing calls, even with the call records of system was deleted. It can manage the calls of one who borrow the phone.
3.Manage Message
Manage the sent and received messages to ensure privacy of personal messages.
Block the message with a predefined syntax or phone number.
Blocked messages won't display in SMS application of system, prevent others from reading messages.
Manage blocked messages, view the detail information of those messages.
4. Tracing lost phone
Send SMS to your phone following some predefined syntax to perform the actions as below:
- Play a sound such as sirens or the established sound.
- Locate your phone and send the information to the established email.
- Take a photo and send it to the established email.
- Lock screen, prevent manipulating on the phone.
In case SIM replacement, the application will send a message to an established number automatically to inform about this case. With new phone number, user can perform the actions as above.

Hello! Thank you for contacting me about this. Currently the "Reply to calls" feature only replies to missed or rejected calls. My thought process was that if the phone call is answered then a reply is not needed, but I could add in a setting that allows it to reply to answered calls as well.
Does it auto reply to missed or rejected calls?

Is it possible to have this app send an SMS-message DIRECTLY after a call is comming in?
So that the app immediatly disconnects the call and sends a SMS?
At this moment, a SMS is send if the connection is closed, which means that the person who calls me has to wait till:
1) He disconnects the call, or
2) The call is disconnected automaticly after a while
But I would like it to send a SMS directly, so the person who calls me doesn't have to wait the time untill the call gets disconnected automaticly after, for example, 1 minute.
If I'm busy and can't accept a call, it's nicer that the person who calls me, get's to know this directly and not has to wait some time.
Is this possible?

I tried to get your app from the PlayStore but I could not access it, always say the page does not exist (i'm from Portugal and using a Xiaomi Mi6).
I could get the version 1.0.05 from December, 28 from another website.
Is there any problem on my side I might not be aware of?
If I want to buy premium, how can I do it without the PlayStore?
How can I get updates?

Hello, unfortunately Google recently changed thier texts and calls permissions policy, now only the default sms app can listen to incoming texts. Google removed all apps that used those permissions including my app and all apps that auto reply to texts. There are some work arounds but nothing that is even close to reliable. I am working to appeal the removal and get an exception, but this app is most likely dead. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Great. I don't know if it will be useful currently as SMS is dead in my country except for authentication. I'm gonna keep it in wait for the WhatsApp update.

Just install Xda Labs store nad Install from there. Restrictions are only on Google Play store. If Goo will keep adding those restrictions Play store will be pretty obsolite for util apps.

So do we get our money back then?
