Hi guys,
I might have to buy a new tablet soon(ish), any suggestions on what to get?
I need a device that:
- can be rooted easily
- good performance for games
- screensize 8" or more, HD ready resolution for screens under 8", full HD for larger
- decent battery life (10-12 hours, bonus for more)
- decent storage (64GB or more)
- 4G memory or more
connectivity: LTE + WIFI
What's on the market "out there" right now that you guys would recommend?

Hi - A friend of mine is looking for a budget tablet (< £200) for his son.. he doesn't know anything about Android and has asked for my help.. !!
I've never researched the low end of the market - but having looked around tonight, there is so much choice that I don't know where to start!
He doesn't really want to spend more than £200.. I want him to have full App Market access (not some limited proprietary app store)... Ideally Honeycomb with plans confirmed for upgrade to ICS...
Does such a thing exist? If not, he'll sacrifice the OS upgrade element, and even drop down to Gingerbread if necessary.
Thanks (in anticipation).
First thing: Honeycomb is only for Tablets.
Second, the only phone that I know that almost reach all what he want is Xperia Mini/Mini Pro.
He wants too much for a too low price, I think.
EDIT: Forget it, I tought it was a phone.
Maybe the Acer iconia a100. Pretty good tab if you ask me.

Either the Kindle Fire or Nook tab. They're both pretty good tabs at low prices - not sure about ICS update status, but im almost certain they both have honeycomb.
Easy
Nook Color, either new or first version. Throw CM7 on there, clock to 1400 and run circles around the rest for under your budget. Go used and save more.
Wait for the Asus 7", it will be smokin fast. Tegra 3......

Hey all,
I'm trying to look for the ideal tablet to fit my needs and price range, so here we go:
- I'll most likely be installing a custom rom on it, so I care more about internal specs than stock rom
- screen is a big factor, since I'll be using the tablet mostly for movies, occasional/light gaming, and reading
- screen size between 8 to 10 inches
- don't really care about front facing speakers (i always use headphones)
- priced below $500
I've narrowed my choices down to the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and NVidia Shield Tablet, but here's what's keeping me from making a final decision:
- Tab S has a gorgeous screen, but I don't like physical home buttons
- Not sure if CM11 or any soon-to-be-stable roms for the Tab S allow for fingerprint scanning, in which case the above is null
- Shield tablet's screen isn't as good (IPS vs super AMOLED, hd vs quadhd)
- Shield's internal specs are top-notch, but I don't game very often nor heavily, so in terms of regular day-to-day use, performance for Shield vs Tab S on CM11 probably won't have many differences (not sure about this though, can someone comment on this?)
- Tab S is more expensive ($50-70 more expensive on amazon)
Also, I took a look at a few other alternatives, such as the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4/10.1, which are one step down from the Tab S but according to a few videos on Youtube seem to be running buttery smooth on CM11 and are priced MUCH lower (around $230 on amazon).
I'm sure many people would benefit from a thread like this because I tried searching for recent tablet-choosing threads and nothing came out of it. Responses and advice would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT: reposted to correct section. mods please remove this

Hi there
I have a question...
I am searching a new Smartphone with the following abilities:
- >= 5,5"
- >= 32GB internal Memory and microSD Card Slot
- if 64GB internal Memory is available, the microSD is optional- >= 3GB RAM
- CPU should be in the range of Snapdragon 810
- metal body
- Android
- unlockable Bootloader
- Custom ROMs
- available in Germany
- optional: NFC
- optional: wireless charging
- optional: IR Blaster
I am now using a HTC One M8, and I would like to have a bigger phone.
It should be Android, because I want to use my LG Watch Urbane with my new phone.
Android Wear seems not to work properly at this time.
Does somebody have some recommendations for a new phone for me?
I was using a Huawei G8, but that Phone is a pain.
The Hardware is pretty cool and it feels good in the hand, but the software is not usable.
It lags, freeze and some bugs (especially Spotify on lockscreen) are a no go for me...
I would buy a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, but I've seen it in the market and it looks like the promotion Text "Galaxy S6" seems to burn in the Display and it is visible all the time in a light grey.
WTF is happend with our technology? The last time I've seen such things was on a really old CRT Monitor...
Question about devices...
I was on Android from Froyo to Jellybean for mobile. Left to go to Windows. But today, every Windows experience app I use is on Android, so I'm thinking of moving back. Can I get the following for less than $100 in an Android phone even if it's a year or two old?
- quad core, more than 1GB RAM
- a good camera (high quality photos, better than 8MP)
- smooth UI so there aren't major loading delays
- removable battery
- microSD slot
- the ability to have quickcharge or at least a battery that lasts long
- 5" screen, nothing rounded or special
- in a name other than Samsung, simply dont like them and theyre beyond my needs
- no need for watching any media other than the occasional Youtube or listening to music which I have separate devices for.
Is that something I can find for that price?
