Battery issue - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm owner of a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact D5833. Running kit Kat 4.4.4
It was running smoothly until i kept it in a drawer for a week or two. When i picked it up again the battery was completely drained and then i plugged it for charging there was a problem. Now what phone is doing while charging the Sony logo appears and then restart continuously again and again again and again. I opened the back cover, removed the battery and plugged it into Sony Z3 D6603 and the problem was same.
I repaired many batteries in this condition by giving shock through a usb cable by plugging in PC and used red and black cables as + - points. But this time in-vain.
How to repair does anybody know?

[Q] will an android device work with a dead battery?

Hi,
will an android device work with a dead battery (or with it removed) but with ac plugged in?
will your android phone still work with the battery removed and ac plugged in?
Try it and state your models.
Thanks
I don't think phones work on AC power without the battery like laptops do.
I have a Sony Xperia SL, Xperia Z Ultra, and a Xperia Tablet Z in the house and the battery is not removable in all of them, but if they are absolutely dead and I plug in the charger they first charge before switching on, if even for a few seconds.
I tried with a device called the Karbonn A5 which has a removable battery, and it didn't switch on.
I also tried with an old phone, the Sony Ericsson W810, and it didn't switch on either.
Hi,
Yes, thank for your reply.
I have a cheap China product which do not boot if the power of the battery is below 20% and start charging. So I guess the device would not possibly boot if there is no battery (or removed) when the battery is dead.
So are the Sony Xperia SL, Xperia Z Ultra, and a Xperia Tablet Z still operate with ac charging after the battery dead?
Have anyone had a device that has the battery dead?
Anyone can check the android source code to make sure about this too?
The Sony Xperia SL, Xperia Z Ultra, and a Xperia Tablet Z don't operate with ac charging after the battery is dead, but they do not need to be charged to 20% before using. They can be used just after a few seconds of charge if they are plugged in, I am guessing after 1% is charged maybe.

So you have android phone with its battery removable?
We want the device to be used more than that is promised, which is only 1 year warranty. The device may still be used for some other purpose such as watching videos, reading news or as a bed night/alarm clock when it is plugged on the ac adapter. Otherwise, it would become waste.

Phone won't charge, despite new charging socket & new battery

Hey guys,
I've had to replace the charging socket of my Sony Z5 Compact because the old one wouldn't charge my phone anymore/was super wobbly. (I've also changed the battery). However, every time I plug it in, it will recognise it being charged, upon which the Sony screen will display but shortly after that the red light will turn off and it'll return to the battery screen, which isn't displayed as charging. I've tried different cables and power sources - it seems to be the same problem that I had before I replaced the battery (when I couldn't even turn the phone on)
Any ideas on how to fix it? Any help would be very much appreciated!

Xperia Z3 D6603 turning off after i connect charger, don't charge battery

So from the beginning of story, my wife discharge phone to 0% and it turned off, after it turned off it wont charge any more, so i think she killed the battery. Bought new battery, replace and it's ALIVE, but when i connect fast charger xperia turning off ( puff black screen, on normal charger is showing it's charging and after 10 seconds puff same result ) and red light is on at the top ( new battery is 50% charged ).
So i connect old battery to Xperia Z1 and charge, old battery is working, connect to Z3 and it working without charger connect, when i connect charger phone turning off, and place where is connected battery to phone board getting really HOT when charger is connected.
I don't see any water on phone-board, and white marks near the place of connection with battery.
Have someone same problem, and have a solution?

Your charging module might be damaged. Try charging using the magnetic charger, it should work.
I have the exact same problem in my Xperia Z3 D 6633 . this is how the problem started. original battery started swelling but charging while it was alright and had charged but I saw the risk in keeping a battery that is swelling all the time so got a new battery and that second battery lasted for about 2 months after which one fine day it used to discharge in just under 20 seconds from hundred percent 20 and after that gradually it will not take any charge but at least I could make it pretend charging when I connected to AC and the phone was on as long as there was external power either from the AC or Power Bank. next this second battery was changed to a third battery . with the third battery in place all I could he is a red light there is no charging at all and no charging icon and phone is totally dead with a red light.
some other place I read that there should be a voltage difference of at least 4.2 v for a battery to work in that phone and III battery initially did work but when it was discharged it will simply not charge again.
when you say the charging module is not working what exactly does it look like and can it be changed easily please help me out thank you

Xperia xz won't charge offline

Hi all. My wifes xz won't offline charge. When she plugs the charger in it lights the led red for about 20 seconds then boots the white Sony logo then loops. I have replaced the USB C port but still does the same. Am I right in thinking it's a software problem or could it be another hardware problem?
