i have an SM-A750G/DS and i flashed the SM-A750GN vietnam version of pie, everything is working great but when i try to check for updates it says registering device and then "operation failed"
i assume is because the version is not exactly the same, is there any way to get updates?

I've been getting error 7 in TWRP on my SM-G930S S7 while trying to flash the official builds of LineageOS, the unofficial ones work just fine.
Having looked for solutions, I'm certain that:
- My model is said to be supported by the official builds, I even checked the update-script, my model name is there.
- I have the latest bootloader for my model
- I've downloaded the correct build for the correct model and wiped everything clean before attempting to flash.
Despite checking all of those boxes, the error still persists.
Can anyone offer any other solutions? Or at least confirm that this is a real issue?
Thanks in advance
Hi.
I have a G955U Galaxy S8+ AT&T Factory Unlocked on Android 7.0
Baseband Version: G955USQU1AQD9
Android Security Patch Level - April 1, 2017
I no longer live in the US, and currently in the Philippines. Phone works great and the signal is too and all, but I cannot get OTA updates.
Can I just download the firmware file in this thread and flash straight through ODIN, or do I need to follow another guide?
Thanks in advance
You can, however there are specific sequences to follow, so you have to update in firmware released order.
I encountered the same problem so I downloaded odin that worked for Nougat and loaded all version to BRB1 I think it is and then went to Oreo. Currently on CRC5.
Another note, when you are about to hit Oreo you will need to download the odin that works for Oreo. It can be found in the CRC5 thread.
Happy Updating

Is this really necessary?
I want to update to Oreo as well but since I'm AT&T unlocked and not currently using AT&T network I'm stuck in the June software update so I'll have to flash like 7-8 firmware updates and each one being about 2-3 GB to download.
Also, is there any stock Samsung firmware I can download so I can avoid having to manually flash every software update? Or am I just stuck with the AT&T firmware?
Thanks in advance.
I'm also having this problem. Need to flash the updates through ODIN but I can't find every single stock file leading up to BR9 on this site. Do I really have flash them all? Or is there another way?
Hello everyone, I searched here and found several discussions on this problem, but didn't found a solution.
My friend gave me a G920F with a bootlop problem (stock Samsung ROM), it also has a broken recovery which doesn't load at all. I can only go into Download Mode. The fact is, downloading the latest available firmware for ITV, dated 30th March if I remember well, with Nougat, I get the error message on the phone: SW REV CHECK FAIL: DEVICE 6, BINARY 5. Now, how the hell is possible that the phone has a bootloader version greater than the latest firmware available to download? My friend told me she updated the phone few days ago, so it could clearly be the 30th March, which is also the firmware I'm trying to install with ODIN. Anyone could help? I can't really figure it out.
Hi, I've got the same problem. I had stock Nougat on my G920F. Never rooted. Then I recieved a call form unknown caller and the phone crashed. Now it's in a bootloop. I can't access recovery menu, only download mode. Odin fails to push the latest software and I get "SW REV CHECK FAIL: DEVICE 6, BINARY 5" on the phone. I've tried SmartSwitch but it doesn't support G920F anymore. I tried to find sth in here but the only solution I found is to get AOKP, which is dead with no download link. Please help.
I have the same problem. I installed TWRP and LineageOS and want to go back to stock. I downloaded firmware for the phone, start it in Odin and it says in Download screen on the phone: "[CM] SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 6, BINARY 5". I Googled it and only found that I'm possibly flashing older bootloader than what I already have. I updated my phone when it was on stock like 2 days ago.
I will try and download newest firmware I can find, 4/4/2018. and see if it works then.
-------------------EDIT--------------------
It worked! I downloaded a ROM from sammobile from 4/4/2018, can't remember which one exactly but it doesn't matter and I didn't get any issues. Everything works fine now.

so it works?!
Hi
I tried to update my poco x3 nfc from 12.0.4 android 10 to 12.5.4 android 11 using a recovery rom file and got the "can't verify update, can't flash this stable rom " error message so i updated the phone online to the next version that it was showing at the time which was 12.0.9 android 10, but even after update to the new version i still got the same error for the recovery rom and i tried a different build and got the same error as well and on top of that updater apps says there is no updates available.
I already tried the latest version of updater app which is 7.6.3 and tried different vpns and still getting the same error.
How can i solve this without the need to unlock bootloader?
Also for some reason system app updater doesn't work and can't download anything and i tried this on my friends phone, also same problem. Does anyone have this problem ?
Thanks in advance
Please search forum threads because this has already been answered countless times. The only solution is to take it to a service center and flash using EDL authorised account or you have to unlock bootloader yourself and flash latest firmware.
Essentially I'm in a pickle and I'm currently running OneUI 5.0 beta 1 on my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra ATT locked device (SM-S908U) and I sideloaded the .bin for the official SMS908U beta build and it flashed and wiped everything and works fine. Except ONEUI 5 stable is coming out soon and I have tried Odin flashing several builds of Android 12 OneUI 4.1, I have tried Samsung Smart Switch emergency initialization (which doesn't show my device after failing to post the update), I went to Samsung Members but it says something about changed country info or not being in the Beta, but once I go to the open card to actually enroll for the beta, it says I'm already on it because it thinks since I have it at all its legit but it doesn't talk to the same exact framework of the app to find out if I need to officially enroll still. Either way I cannot opt out via Members either, I am fairly stuck. Any advice ?
*I do not have any backups from Android 12 stable.
You tried flashing official firmware for U device right? You were using CSC file or HOME_CSC to preserve data?
Going back from beta to stable means wiping data, phone will factory reset when you flash back the stable firmware and you should use the CSC file (not HOME_CSC)
Yeah... I know how to operate Odin3... It literally says right there I tried flashing multiple stable builds and each time it fails with AUTH error. Tried HOME and regular CSC....
I have the same phone. I have not gone back to stock U firmware from beta. But I have gone from beta to stock U1 firmware. I believe once you go back to stock U1 Android 12. You can flash back with Odin not patched to U firmware.
