I broke NFC by flashing a GSI PE ROM - Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Questions & Answers

Hi there,
Yesterday I followed the instructions over here and I flashed the latest stable Xiaomi.EU ROM on my device, followed by the latest x64 Pixel Experience GSI Rom. All the links are in that thread.
Problem: I just noticed that NFC wasn't working.
What should I do to get a stable Pixel Experience ROM with NFC working?
Which partition is the source of the issue? Is it vendor or is it system? How can I find out for sure?
Thanks

I just did the whole process from scratch, except I didn't use Xiaomi.EU but "perseus_images_9.3.28_20190328.0000.00_9.0_cn_71120d6539" instead.
It didn't fix it.

It might be a known issue with the GSI, did you check the GSI thread over in the treble section

It seems to be an issue with all GSI roms based on Phh's work.
At this point I can choose between GSI PE (with this NFC issue) or non-GSI PE (with the memory leak issue).
Do you know if I have any other option? I've not been able to boot a non-GSI PE with the unstable CN vendor or the unstable global vendor... only with the EU vendor.

I flashed PE (GSI-version) on my Mi Mix 3 yesterday and read some reports about NFC not working. Testing with NFC Tools from Play Store indeed resulted in an error and couldn't find anything in settings about NFC. After some investigation I stumbled upon this thread and flashed the zip in the OP and now it seems to work and options like NFC-switch and Android Beam magically appeared in the settings-menu.

A developer see's a need to for Redmi6 Mediatec ROM he will develop, but don't wait it could never happen?
I tested lineageos15.1 and it worked, boot was ok and rom very smooth.
I will do it again as soon as I will have a day free.
A little help in the procedure would be great. I've already bricked my 6A by formatting the wrong directories, and had to go to a Xiaomi center to get it fixed. Details would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance ?

Yet SIM doesn't work that well from my experience. I have to "activate" SIM signal and calls and sms won't work.
Otherwise if you still want help reply to me
I still want help. I don't want another bricked phone, that was a nightmare I just don't need right now. Please describe the whole process, from start to finish.
I did it at a moment that I had several free hours.
But now, it's too complicated for me touche find Time to do it again.
I juste followed the steps described un official TWRP github, and then install LOS15.1 Treble image.
boot, login, smooth and wifi was ok But didn't have enough Time to test with a sim for calls or data...
So I reflash stock miui 10 with miflash to find an usable phone.
Juste need a free moment to test los15.1 again and other gsi roms like aosp8.1, pixel experience, etc...
Interested too
Hi.
i'm very interested in having your feedback as i intend to put LineageOS or AOSP Treble on my Redmi 6 global version next month after the bootloader unlock time.
Do you plan to install OpenGoogleApps and root too?
Thanks!

Actually no .. tried Oreo and booted with many fc errors and no camera too
You can fix this I like MIUI more than Android One ;d it will be best ROM for this device. Keep trying and make it stable bro!
The MIUI-Port works with 9.6.9.0 (Oreo) as base... No FCs, but sometimes it seems a bit laggy and the camera doesn't work.
I didn't test it much, beacause it seems not stable for daily use.
I want it...

different project https://github.com/DerpFest-OP5T . clone of that aosip. with built-in gapps and pixel pieces.
On the build and seems like everything is working fine and on the Indian vendor even the widevine l1 certification is also working..
No dialer app is set as default but u can manually set it
Could you provide a list of known bugs please?
Seems stable so far for my usage. Battery is solid but at times, there are minute UI delays while opening Apps.

1. Depends upon your usage. I primarily use Social Apps, Watching Videos, Calls with no gaming and the rom is pretty stable for my use. Some people have reported BT Audio issues though. Battery is outstanding so far but can’t say how would it flair with gaming.
2. MIUI Camera is only limited to stock roms so far. You could use the ANX Camera which is the next closest to stock MIUI cam. I use Gcam with modified config and it is more than enough for my needs.

Thanks for the revert. My usage is similar and i have absolutely no gaming appetite. However bluetooth is important for me and i have a limitation to not root my phone (and magisk). I have my office emails on it and it would not proceed the safetynet. MIUI currently is not supported by airwatch and i cant get my office emails registration on it. GCam is good for me too.
Would you be able to confirm if bluetooth works please?

MIUIMS won't get updates for Poco anymore. The developer bought a new phone. Telegram channel is also deleted. I switched to miroom and it's also really good.
Working good. Tks you!. Bug : default launcher f.c
A much better port ROM than EU. Feels like a legit Pocophone beta ROM, just wish it had more languages. No rounded corners on recent apps menu is annoying too... If someone properly ports the EU ROM, it will be superior to this because EU has more language support and a much cleaner look. Stability wise, MiRoom is better for now.

Sadly this is true..MiuiMS was IMHO the best of...So also i would to switch to MiRoom or RevOS but it seems that missed some extra features from miuiMS as option to switch from Indian Themes/Chinese Themes (option was in developer settings)..For me this is the only feature that i really missed..
Someone knows if these roms have this feature?

I suggest you dont flash it but instead usi it via DSU. Autobrightness is not working, fingerprint too. There are gcam ports wich are also compatible with our device. Battery life is better than miui. Even adding a card to google wallet works fine, until a reboot.

You shouldve just used google to understand better. But basically its a subsystem method wich was implemented to allow a/b partition devices to be able to run gsis' for testing purposes, without the need of flashing and deleting the original os. Think of it as dualboot for android. The only thing is that if you're using it via dev settings, you dont have the choice of selecting what to boot, but your device will directly download google's official gsi (wich is not very functional and its ugly).
Thats why you just need to download the DSU Sideloader app from PlayStore. The app will do everything with a gsi of your choice if you follow the instructions.
The only thing wich is mandatory is that the BL of your device must be unlocked in order to use dsu.
There are videos on YT showing this. If you want to try the gsi I mentioned, download it from their website.
