Hi guys
So i created quite a mess here..
Device:
Mate 9 L09C432
I had RomAur B197 installed.
Then i tried to somehow get to oreo.
I was able to flash the newest oreo stock firmware with HWOTA tool and it worked but it was unrooted & locked i guess.
So i unlocked it again and flashed twrp 3.2.1-0 fromfuture edition.
Seems like the data was decrypted, i just saw strange filename, so i wiped data, what actually helped.
Unfortunately this somehow broke the system and starting the os caused a bootloop.
Then i discovered that MTP was not working in TWRP so i flashed TWRP 3.2.1-0 by Pretoriano80.
With this recovery MTP was working so i tried to flash an OS somehow.
I tried to flash the stock firmware again with HWOTA8 but it failed at the update.zip
Manual flash in twrp also fails for that update.zip.
I also tried to flash a treble rom from a german forum.
After that twrp was not starting anymore (bootloop).
So back to twrp by fromfuture where MTP is not working, good that i have an SD card.
And i once wiped system because the space was 0mb after that it was fine again.
TWRP gives the following for the update.zip file:
Code:
...
write radio image...
check_write_data_to_partition,write data error update_huawei_pkd_from_ota_zip: update package from zip failed.
E:unknown dommand [errno]
update process ended wit ERROR: 9
Error installing zip file...
So yeah im a bit out of ideas..
Any ideas are welcome
Thanks
Your mistake is trying to flash a custom rom using TWRP. Most treble/Oreo roms can not be flashed with TRWP. Upgrading to Oreo changes the partitions on the device and that may have caused your issue. My advice would be to download the Huawei update extractor and your current firmware. Open up the extractor and extract the recovery ramdisk. Flash the stock recovery via fastboot. Once you have the stock recovery back. Download the Carbonromv4 from openkirin.net and flash that. That you should get you back up and running. Search XDA for how to install a generic treble system img or check the support page on the Openkirin site for instructions.
Thanks for this advice, everything worked
It was that easy but I just didn't know before..
anyways thanks a lot!

Glad to hear it worked for you! The treble roms work really well and if you are looking for a better camera try the P20 camera port. You will have to re-flash TWRP to install it, but you can then flash the stock recovery back.
Everytime I try to flash room I bootloop or get stuck in a twrp loop I think I'm following all instructions please can someone give me a more in-depth steps for flashing I have twrp and root installed thanks
hi have u got latest version of twrp

Your phone isn't a Oneplus One, go to Oneplus 6 forum.
Flash a rom from there... Now it won't bootloop for sure
As the title says I updated to 9.5.9 and I installed magisk to ota slot and then I got a bootloop.... I fixed it by using twrp option to fix bootloop but that removed root, everything I do now sends it into a bootloop, please tell me there is a way to reroot this without wiping my data

Just had the same issue an hour ago. Do this then re-root your phone again. Easy. Then re-install magisk modules.

Had the same issue.
Same here. I just reflashed TWRP (flash boot command), flashed the TWRP installer zip, rebooted recovery and then flashed Magisk. That solved it.
By the way, theres a new TWRP out for the 7 Pro.
I got the same problem but my internal storage is encrypted (it shows 0kb). TWRP is not asking for PIN to unencrypt the partition. What can I do now?
Do we have a custom boot image for 9.5.9? I'm looking to root and want to find the best method which will continue to allow future updates (even if I need to flash manually)

Your best bet is to use the oxygen updater app, download 9.5.9 and then copy it to a PC then use boot.img extract thingy and then use magisk to patch it and then use fastboot to to root it
Can anyone upload a Magisk patched boot image for 10.0.1GM57AA? The model that I have is GM1900. When I try to patch it myself on Magisk, I get an error saying "process error"
Anyone able to help?

Thanks a lot for uploading this! I managed to flash it and root my device but now the wifi isn't working. I cleared the cache with TWRP but that didn't resolve the issue. Flashing back the original boot image made the wifi work again.

ok, perhaps it depends on BA (EU) or AA (global) ROM version? however you can boot the rooted one, install a downloaded version of magisk20 via magisk manager to patch your own kernel directly.

I flashed the 4.14.117-perf+.img that you uploaded and then I booted in TWRP and flashed my original stock boot image. While still in TWRP, I flashed the zip of Magisk and then I rebooted. That got it working. So I'm rooted now. Thanks for sending me the image. I appreciate it!
@Heelixx
Can you explain to me how important a magisk boot patched is? Did you leave Pie for 10? What's the procedure?

I was rooted on 10.0 and then I upgraded to 10.0.1
There is a procedure for upgrading to 10.0.1 and still keeping root. I wasn't aware of this and after I got the update, I restarted my device and ended up without root access.
A Magisk patched boot image is important for getting your device rooted.
If you're asking for the procedure to root your device, then you can follow this link which explains it, https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7/how-to/guide-how-to-flash-android-10-twrp-t3964131
Hey guys,
got a OP6 for years. Stay on Stock OS with root. Never flashed any CustomRom or OS.
Bootet with fastboot boot twrp-version.img and flashed Magisk in twrp.
Works absolut fine until now. I installed the OTA and now i cant enter any twrp.
Information about my device:
Device: OnePlus6 A6003
OSS: 10.3.3
Android: 10
Build-Number: A6003_22_200414
USB-Debuggin: Enabled
OEM-Unlock: active
I tried all .img files from here:
eu.dl.twrp.me/enchilada/
and
twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v9.91_op.img
twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v9.86_op.img
No version working.
After flashing the 3.2.x versions i get a screen with
"qualcom crashdum mode
-------------"
With the newer 3.3x versions the screen just switch to "fastboot mode" and stay there forever.
How can i just boot into twrp with the new version? I wont twrp forever (flash). Just need to flash root after every OTA.
Thx for help!

You could do that without TWRP. You just need to use Magisk's "Install to inactive slot" feature after installing OTA but before rebooting.

The version you tried to boot is not for android 10.
Versions for android 10 are blu_spark 9.108 and 9.109. Unfortunately, i think @eng.stk stopped providing img, but you can download lastest @mauronofrio TWRP and then flash @mauronofrio or blu_spark TWRP

After fashing twrp.img you boot into recovery and flash the file twrp.zip(the same series and name with file twrp.img)then reboot recovery.
