Galaxy S7 recent apps button crashes phone after security patch - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Today I installed the march security patch on my Samsung Galaxy S7, but soon after installing it I noticed that whenever I press the recent apps button my phone crashes. It does show the animation of the current screen turning into a card, but it does not show the recent apps. After that the screen goes black like it does when pressing the power button and the phone is locked.
The problem does not appear on the S7 of a friend of mine, even after installing the same update.
I have tried wiping cache and running in safe mode, and even factory resetting it, but nothing helps.
The problem does seem to be software related, because a test using 'one handed mode' with the software recent apps button had the same result.
Does anyone have an idea what would be the cause and what could fix it?
Some additional info on my phone, the installed security patch and the software version:
Model: SM-G930F
Android version: 8.0.0
Security patch level: March 1, 2019
I hope I provided enough information and posted in the right place.
Thanks in advance!

It simply notified me of the update like it always does, I pressed install, it restarted and went through the update process and booted up again.
Maybe I should mention my device is not rooted.
I'll just send everything on the software information screen so you have all the info you need, I hope

LG Stylo 3 Plus T-mobile TP450 Sept 2017 software update?

Hi all, I got the notification of a T-mob software update end of September 2017 for my T-mob LG Stylo 3 Plus, the TP450. It currently is sporting the Android 7.0 with April 1 security patch, Kernel version is 3.18.31 and the soft version is TP45010b.
I am not seeing anything about that update on the T-mobile site.
Questions please, if you know:
- is this just a security patch as I'm guessing or a more serious Android version update?
- More importantly for now: if I go ahead and do it, will I lose all my apps etc? IOW does the phone reset to "stock" status with that update?
TIA
E
Just update with LG Bridge. You can regain root, either with SuperSU or Magisk, afterwards.
sorry if I wasn't clear. The phone is not rooted, for now, has stock recovery etc, and I need to keep it that way for a while. (edited OP for clarity)
well, since there was no reply about updating the stock phone, I took a chance and did the update, and if you are interested, it did NOT reset the phone. All my apps and their settings are still there apparently.
Good to know.
IT is now Soft v. TP450c . Sec patch is dated Aug 1 2017. Still Android 7.0 and Kernel 3.18.31

As a rule, a software update on a stock phone does not reset the system. Could you imagine the outrage if it wiped everything every time your phone updated? Even during a major version update it may. be recommended to factory reset, the manufacturer doesn't do that. They want you to keep using them and their phone and don't want to make it harder for you than necessary so you dont try another carrier or manufacturer.

SM-920F unable to dial (call/use the phone app) on custom ROMs

Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help me with the following issue. For a long time I used a custom ROM(NNE 3.1) and was able to call out and to be called. Until recently the Phone App just started to crash on any number I wanted to dial to. Since I haven't reset the phone for a long time, I chose to try out some newer ROMs, assuming the calling out/in problem would be solved.
However, whatever custom ROM I'm trying, calling doesn't work anymore. After re-flashing the stock firmware(Stock Samsung Android 7 - G920FXXU5EQI6_G920FPHN5EQI2_PHN) with Odin, I was able to call and to be called again.
After which I thought/hoped, maybe the stock ROM would have fixed the Phone App issue, so I tried various custom ROMs installed with TWRP, but with none of them the Phone App works. Not even with the exact same ROM I've been using for a long time. (I backed-up that ROM back then, and re-flashed the exact same file this time [NNe 3.1]).
What am I missing here? Some Samsung hardware security feature that got flipped back somehow?
Help is much appreciated...the stock firmware is so slow...
Thanks in advance!

Is it impossible to unlock A750G/DS' OEM?

I recently bought a A7 (2018) A750GN Dual-sim, but the OEM Unlock option doesn't even appear!!
I waited the 7 days period to see if the Unlock OEM option appeared, I already factory reseted it and the problem still wasn't solved.
Plz help, does anyone had this same problem and could solve it?

Yes! The first thing I did when I Bought the phone was enable the developer mode, but the OEM unlock option didn't even appear, it just isn't there. I was just like
But still, I waited the 7 days period ...and nothing. I did the whole date and automatic download thing and the OEM unlock option still wasn't there.
This is really frustrating. Any suggestion?

If you boot into Download Mode, what does the "KG State" show? if it's on "Prenormal" it's still locked and if the trick with the time and date change doesn't work you'll have to wait another 7 Days, also, make sure you keep your Phone connected to the Internet throughout those 7 Days.
You can also try to re-flash the Stock ROM with Odin, maybe you'll have the option there for a while.
Software update processing failed???
What can i do???
