Basically anyone using ad free app for full screen to hide notification bar without root or adb commands?

You could use Tasker as I do.
Set up a profile to trigger immersive mode when you enter the applications and leave the mode when you leave the application.

New feature in Version 1.1.8
With version 1.1.8, Secure Settings can be converted to a system app to get the same functionality as having the Helper installed.
If you wish to move the app to the system, you MUST first disable Device Administrator!
I cannot stress this enough. If you don't do this, the app will break and will be a pain to remove.
Once that's disabled, you can use Titanium Backup to convert the app to a system app.
Thank you very much for this plugin. I have it installed which I downloaded from your site. Is there any difference between that and this one, which is available in the Market? Also, does this one also require to be installed as a system app in order for some functionality to work (e.g. Keyguard Off)? Thanks.
This is a completely different version than what is hosted on the google code site.
This app doesn't require you to install it to the system. I wrote a second app that I called the "Helper" which gets installed there. If you don't install the Helper, you will have the following available to you:
Keyguard
Lock Device
Set Password/Pin
Run Command
Wake Device
And Wireless ADB if you are rooted.
Hope this helps
Ok, thanks. I will try this out right now.
hey Corey Z -
I'm running into issues where Secure Settings plugin doesn't fire if I run a lot of shell scripts. I have a task where I fire a script, wait for its exit code, then fire another script; I do this maybe 4-5 times. This happens just fine, but when I tried to test a different task that also uses a shell script, it doesn't fire and my task just hangs on the "Wait until %CMD_EXIT is set". This is verifiable by turning on "show output" and "show notification" - notification doesn't happen sometimes, indicating that the plugin isn't firing..?
Thanks for the help!
Is it possible ro reset a sim lock pin..???

So, let me see if I understand...
It works fine when you run one command, one after another but you have issues when running multiple commands simultaneously?
Is that it?

@Z3US911
That's an interesting thought. I'll have to look into that.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Upon further investigation it looks like scripts aren't firing if I manually select the notification to end the script. I set up my profiles to make sure exactly 1 script fires at a time to avoid collisions; when they all fire and exit properly rather than being aborted, I can re-run as much as I'd like.
Thank you very much, just what I needed!

Are you referring to the cancel script option you get after you click the script running notification?
If so, that function is actually a little buggy at the moment. It may not actually cancel the script.
Is that what may be causing the problem?

That could be it! I haven't had to cancel a script since originally posting that, so hopefully I never run into it again..
This is great!
Now I am able to disable the pattern lock while connected to my Wifi.
On the Turn On/Off GPS....does that mean I can re-use an old task where GPS gets turned off when I exit Google Maps/Navigation like it used to in <2.2?
I've been using this plugin with ZERO issues to disable the pin lock when I enter known WiFi and to enable it otherwise.

You should be able to enable/disable GPS like you were able to prior to GB

Edit: Works great
this may be a dumb question, but is the helper supposed to be on the market somewhere? or is it the manual download only? I only ask because the manual download is worded like you should only use it if you have problems...
Hi,
I use a program called "CELLBROKER," and whenever I get it I need to put my password and enter ... I created a profile in TASKER to put the password ( Input - Type - "my password"), but I do not know how to use a command in linux to run automatically enter.
Can someone help me?
Thanks a lot!

The Helper is not available on the market. I currently have it hosted at my google code site.
If you want to install it, use the install option in the settings of my app. The manual download is offered if that fails for any reason.
Hope this helps.

(Guide) Hide Navigation Bar / Immersive Mode/ Transparent [root required]

Hello.
I asked myself why you can not hide the Navigation Bar from the factory.
I Have long researched and have come to this solution until an official version works. It works very well and I am quite satisfied.
On Playstore I discovered this app (All in One Gesture) by YS Liang.
What it can do;
【Supported Gestures
• Swipe from edges.
• Double tap on the status bar.
• Long press on the physical keys (for Android 4.3+). Works great on Android 7
• Mouse or stylus (S Pen) is supported.
【Supported Actions
• Home, Back, Recent Apps, Screen Off, Immersive Mode, etc.
• Launch of an application or a shortcut.
Step 1:
- Open All in One Gesture> Enable Swipe
- scroll down to Corners> aktivate Lower Left Area
Step 2:
- swipe from left to right, you will see Side Panel [Settings]
- go to Personalisation and open Edge Preference; and make your settings.
- (mine configuration is: Opacity 0% , Corner Size 15px, Edge Sensitivity 60px, Edge With 50%, Horizontal
Offset 0%, Vertical Offset 0%, Swipe Distance 40px).
- activate Behind Keyboard
- go back to Side Panel [Settings]
Step 3:
- swipe from left to right to see Side Panel
- click on Immersive Mode
- if you want to see the Status Bar, activate it
- Enable Blacklist and click on Manage Blacklist to exclude your desired apps from Immersive Mode
- Now activate the Immersive Mode in the upper right corner (for constantly usage )
or deactivate Blacklist/Immersive Mode (for using with a swipe down activation....)
you're Done, that's it. play with the settings and find your best solution!!)

Open the app and swipe from left to right side to see the Settings Panel...under Immersive Mode> Preference> Manage Blacklist
It only sucks that keyboard won't pop up when in immersive mode..

Do you have root? Check in Magisk Manager if root is granted for "All about Gesture". If not deinstall the app and install it from Play Store again, use link in post #1. Then check in Magisk Manager Settings, if "busybox" and "hide magisk" is marked on.... :highfive::good:

Ahhhhh that's why i haven't rooted.
For the first time i want to see how long i can go before it does my head in not having root
Thank you for explaining. Might want to add to first post that root is required for per app basis.
You don't need root to enable immersive mode: https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-enable-system-wide-immersive-mode-without-root/
Wait, the S8 has been rooted???

Yeah, but you don't even need root to do this on a per-app basis. Just providing an alternative, non-root solution here.
Using shell I typed in:
"adb shell pm grant com.phoenixstudios.aiogestures android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS" and the blacklist became visible. Also, my keyboard now works with this app.
Is there any ADB command or other non root option to increase auto-hide time when immersive mode is on?
Thanks ?
Alternative to this is go to your Edge settings (default by Samsung) and install the Edge Softkey and the order your Edge Softkey to be first.
Enable Immersive and swipe at the edge for navigation keys.

[TIP] Immersive Mode: No Root Required

Take full advantage of the display with enabling Immersive Mode on a per-app basis,by using ADB commands w/this app,NO ROOT REQUIRED! :good:
(others are available, look around in the Google Play Store/APK Mirror/F-Droid/etc. for your app of choice):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.sakeapps.immersivesettings&hl=en
"Immersive Settings" is an application that displays the screen in immersive mode by rewriting the system settings.
Software keyboard operates normally even in immersive mode.
Before using this application, you need to grant the following "WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS" permission via ADB:
adb shell pm grant jp.sakeapps.immersivesettings android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
Immersive mode will continue even after uninstalling this application.
I hope Razer implements this

Solution for navbar/keyboard issues!

Heave you ever hit home while aiming for space?
I've got a solution for you! With this tasker profile you're navbar will hide when the input field is active and turn on the gesture controls. You can get your navbar back with gesture or by simply losing input fields focus
Requirements:
-5T OB
-Tasker
-AutoInput
-Notification listener

Seems like it does not work properly on custom rom which really sucks because I have been trying to find something like this to hide navbar while typing. Thank you for making it anyways .

Yeah, it requires OB3, I think it would be possible to hide the navbar like that on custom rom, but I'm not sure how you would bring it back, when you cannot lose input focus and you dont have gesture controls...
This is working greate with oreo no root
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75459997&postcount=97
with that app
this
Code:
adb shell pm grant jp.sakeapps.immersivesettings android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
and this to hide keyboard too
Code:
adb shell settings put system buttons_show_on_screen_navkeys 0

Hi! Really interesting! Is this still working? I get an error with
settings put system op_gesture_button_enabled 0
although I gave secure settings permission to tasker! Does it need root?
I press "n" often when I want to press space

Hi,
I know it's a long time, but can you explain this method a bit more in detail. I tried it, it basically works (when I set immersive WhatsApp then it's doing what it should), but especially with GBoard it doesn't.
When I have GBoard and WhatsApp set to immersive.navigation WhatsApp doesn't show the NavBar but as soon as GBoard opens to type a message, the navbar shows up again.
With
adb shell settings put system buttons_show_on_screen_navkeys 0
the navbar disappears completely, I have no chance to operate the phone anymore.
What am I doing wrong?

That's the purpose. You have to install simple pie or any other replacement of the stock navbar before erase it with adb shell op_gesture_button_enabled 0 mod

Immersive Mode

How can we enable immersive mode for all apps. I miss stock Android using the system ui tuner, so I hope someone knows an easy way to get this. I have tried "full screen mode" in Good Lock it just makes the app use the whole screen with status bar showing.
I'm using Tasker and Navigation Gestures to turn Immersive Mode on and off depending on the screen orientation. You'll need the pro version of Navigation Gestures to link to Tasker, but after that, it would be simple to make a Tasker profile based on what app is open. If you just want to have Immersive Mode active all the time, you won't need Tasker. But I'd suggest you use Tasker for per app functionality because Immersive Mode can make some apps clunky or even unusable.
