【Discussion】What do you think of HONOR View20’s punch hole is smaller than Samsung S - Honor View 20 Guides, News, & Discussion

HONOR View20 is the first screen to be released with a punch-hole camera on its display, ahead of Samsung’s Galaxy S10 about two months. Moreover Honor opted to put its punch-hole in the left corner while Samsung's is in the right corner.

The camera hole has been made as small as possible by some clever engineering by Honor. The HONOR View20’s punch hole is smaller than Samsung S10’s. For HONOR, the biggest challenge was how to implement the in-screen design, and the secret was to create a very small hole with a diameter of only 4.5mm in the display area of the screen -- an extremely complex 18-layer technology stack.
Let us know what do you think of HONOR View20’s punch hole is smaller than Samsung S10’s?

Wife just got me this Obliq Skyline Pro case for my S5. It's very similar to an Otterbox. Red is my favorite color so she got me red.

I just received today the blue Skyline Pro and I love it---aesthetically pleasing, practical, and inexpensive! The only negative thus far is that the case is prone to fingerprints. I wonder if it is compatible with the wireless back?
Has anyone created a case that allows your S5 to stay underwater for indefinite period of time? I just bought an S5 samsung & verizon carried some sort of case that allows the phone to go 6 meters max for 1 hr...Dont think its worth it. Im looking for something that will allow the phone to stay in the water indefinitley

#bendgate Bend to those who are worthy

It seems the whole Bendgate affair isn’t over as everyone is keen to strike the iPhone 6 Plus where it hurts yet again. A clever ad of the Galaxy Note 3 has popped up, showing the bent iPhone 6 Plus bowing to the Android phablet.

That's actually a Note 4. This is a spoof ad. Regardless it is still funny.
I am greatly enjoying this whole Bendgate affair.

Both Samsung and Honor have released their in-screen camera phones yesterday.
I just found this picture: compare the hole of View 20 and the hole of Samsung. It is obvious honor's is much smaller.
Will a smaller camera hole have the same camera performance? I'm curious about it...

This has to do with craftsmanship, which means the craftsmanship of the Honor View 20 is better.
How the technique works? Want to know how they punch the hole on the screen
Funny Posters of View20 hole punch screen
I found some interesting posters about the in-screen camera from Honor weibo. So funny.

I think this is how Samsung and Huawei punch a hole on screen

These two smartphone-makers have unveiled their new products featuring a "hole-punch" selfie camera, A8s, nova 4 and View 20.
It is weird that both of them put the hole in the left corner.
Why not middle?
But I appreciate what they have done to remove the ugly notch.
Just found a news introduce how HUAWEI remove the notch.
https://www.huaweicentral.com/huawe...panel-to-get-full-screen-ratio-notch-out-yes/
They narrow down all the sensors into the thinnest top forehead and leave a small hole to place the camera.
Here is the question: How do Samsung and HUAWEI make the hole ?
Normally we will use a drill to drill the hole...:laugh:but it is so easy to crack the screen.
What do you think?

It's unlikely that they actually make a screen without a hole and then cut one. It's much more likely that they are just manufactured with the hole to begin with.

Cover Screen while unfolded

Hey guys,
today i thought about a possibility, to use the outer screen, while in unfolded mode.
Would be a very nice feature, specially while gaming, so you can press on half of the outer screen, for like an action (ex: shoot or aim) in a shooter game, like call of duty mobile or pubg.
Hope you understand what i mean, and in my opinion that would be a game changer.
So when you hold it like that, so that speakers are on the upper half, you have very good access to a portion of the outer screen.
Man, if someone could make an app like that, to map an mainscreen shortcut to one area of the cover screen, while gaming. That would be very nice.
What do you think? is it anyhow possible?

That's a smart thought...even though I do not game, I can see the usefulness...
Yeah right? Hope someone could check this out. Sadly, i cant code and stuff
