Hello,
In the past, I had unlocked Tmobile S4 , and Note 2 that were unlocked. I noticed that when using with Cricket sim card, both S4 and Note 2 had hostpot capability. Same with Sprint S6.
I am wondering if unlocked SM-N920T would have hotspot as well.
Can someone explain why unlocked phones from one company may have hotspot when used with non-native sim card.
Thanks,

Hi
Question, can i used other sims for my Verizon Note Pro 12.2 such as tmobile or ATT? or this device is only locked for Verizon N/w?
TIA.
Yes. you can use other Sim cards .I currently am using a Tmobile Sim in mine. I just had to add the tmobile an setting to the tablet. Google tmobile lte APN SETTINGS.
I have a question prompted by nothing but curiosity: Does anyone know why some Sprint phones now require micro-SIM cards? An example would be the Galaxy S4, Google Nexus 5, etc. I thought Sprint used a CDMA network, and I thought SIM cards were only for carriers using GSM like AT&T and T-Mobile. Why do they suddenly need these now on some models?

Data requires a SIM card. Same goes for Verizon.

If that's true, then why do most Sprint phones not require them despite having data functionality? For example, the Epic 4G (Sprint's Galaxy S1), Epic 4G Touch (Sprint's Galaxy S2), and the Galaxy S3 do not require any SIM card at all. The S3 even has 4G LTE capability. So it seems like data can't be the answer if 85% of Sprint's smartphones don't need it?

Maybe I'm mistaken.
Ok so I have two phones. One Galaxy S5 on Boost Mobile. And I have a Nexus 5 with no carrier. I want both phones to work with the same SIM when the SIM is inserted into either one of them.
So I put the Sprint/Boost Mobile SIM into the Nexus 5 and data works perfectly, but Call and MMS does not. On the Nexus 5 it reads a different number than the one on my Galaxy S5.
Is there a way that I can fix the Call and MMS. Is there a way to change the Nexus' phone number.

Already Did. They said it wasn't possible but i did it before on a different phone.
Boost isn't gsm is it.
It won't work. It's not like a GSM network where you can just swap SIMs at your leisure. The carrier needs to physically activate the phone on your account. With GSM you can swap phones all you want (I switch between 3 phones daily) but CDMA doesn't have that flexibility.
Since Boost is CDMA, the device would have to be whitelisted to work on their network, but unlike Sprint, Boost Mobile doesn't allow BYOP.
Recently Verizon Galaxy S6 or S6 edge good deals often appear on slickdeals.
I would like to buy Verizon Galaxy S6 if good deal appear.
But now I transferred to T-mobile, i wonder that Verizon Galaxy S6 can enable mobile hotspot (Wifi Ththering) function without Verizon sim card.
My wife have Verizon LG G3 and I put the my t-mobile sim card, it caught signal. But it won't enable mobile hotspot and error message popup with following message
"Not a Verizon sim card. Please contact to Verizon Wiress customer....Need a Verizon simcard in order to work. ...............Blah blah"
Who can success mobile hotspot enabled on T-Mobile or ATT or any MVNO network without root/foxfi ?
I known that latest Samsung Galaxy can enable Mobile hotspot without verizon simcard.
I am thinking of purchasing a Samsung Note 20. If a phone is unlocked I assume it would work on T-Mobile. My question is if I purchase an ATT variant, I know the phone would work with a T-mobile sim, but will VOLTE (wireless calling) work if it an ATT branded phone and wether there's an issues with updates.
Thank you

Basically it should work.
According to the following thread, there might be some issues using 5g though:
