Advanced power menu - General Questions and Answers

Is there an app that would restore advanced power menu functionality on Pie?

What do you mean? Your phone already have this feature but it disappeared? Or what do you mean with restore? If you want you can try with reboot manager in google play

Backups

I like switching from rom to rom, trying each out and seeing how each work, I backup all my apps and the market links via titanium backup, but shortcuts on the homescreen and other settings aren't.
is there anyway you guys backup your shortcuts and setings beside my backup root?
thanks
yeah, do a "backup all user apps + system data" (hit menu, pick "batch" then scroll down to "backup" and "backup all user apps + system data")
that saves/restores all widgets and shortcuts
hope that helps

I would like to add that restoring all system data might screw some parts of Sense like e.g. location update in weather and clock or the lock screen.
Restore user apps + data first, then restore only the green entries in TB...

Restoring data and apps from ROM to ROM may screw your software and cause issues.
For me, I had problems with Market, locations, and lockscreen wasn't showing icons + the phone was lagging badly...
You can restore only contacts, SMS and so on.. I don't think you'll need anything else

thats for the best im sure, but i cant be bothered to go through all of the apps and i havent had any issues so far, and ive done a FULL titanium backup at least 20-25 times im sure its just a matter of time, but until then its save a lot of trouble getting my fone looking exactly the same again
note* ive gone thru 2.3.3, 2.3.4 AND 2.3.5 with no issues yet, but again, i just might be lucky with the roms i use for daily drivers (mainly InsertCoin) and my apps/files
Alright so data + system data and everything comes back. Isn't that the same thing as restoring just the data from the advanced menu in recovery?
No that restores the Rom you used while making the back up

yep, titanium is ONLY for app and data within android, whereas teh recovery backup is a COMPLETE backup of your partitions, and full rom the the day, hour, minute and second that you backed it up
No, but when you go to advanced restore, and select data, would that just work?
truth be told, ive never tried, i prefer the ability to pick and choose the apps to be restored, if necessary. i would assume it does a full data backup/restore that functions essentially the same...
why not give it a shot, and post the results?
I'm guessing it's the same, when I install a new rom, I just wipe cache, dalvik, and system and go ahead and install the update so my data partition always stays... I don't know if that does anything to the rom, by bringing in junk left by the previous rom but we'll see the next time Baad releases a new version of InsertCoin

Yeah actually that's the bug..Try one thing..Download the Default Settings revert zip..EXTRACT the Settings.apk..First backup the original Settings.apk and then manually replace new one in priv-app/Settings..Reboot..Go in Settings->Enable Developer Options->Go in it->Tick Advanced Reboot->Reboot..
Now again replace the Settings.apk with old Settings..Reboot..There you have it! Advanced reboot menu enabled..
And sometimes I have problem with mobile data, I have turned it on but it doesn't work. I have to reboot phone to use mobile data network. Is there anyway to fix it? Thanks!

Which version are you using? StryFlex Ultimate or Minimal? If ultimate, use the CM Mobile Network toggle and long press on it to enable the data..It works fine without any issues..

How to extend advance power menu ? I want to press power menu option such as reboot ,recovery mode ,shutdown.
Searching for same thing. Did you find anything?

You'd need to edit framework-res.apk for that.
I tried to decompile it but it just tosses errors at me. Same with SystemUI.
I use the app Quick Reboot (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.antaresone.quickreboot), it does fine but it's not at the actual power menu :/

Clearing the system cache partition

Hi all, something I've been doing for many years after any sort of system update, is I clear the system cache partition - just for tidyness, maybe some placebo effect that it helps battery life.
Anyway, it's not where I would expect it to be, any know how to do it?
Non-root, locked bootloader Xperia 5ii.
It should be on the boot menu but on some phones it's oddly found in settings I believe.
Google it.

I did Google it but it keeps bringing me to older Sony devices. I'm used to it being in recovery boot (Vol - + Power) but I can only see option for a full wipe/system restore.

Yeah I see what you're saying. Call Sony or your carrier.
Hopefully someone knows what going on with this.
Try sd maid pro, It can clean apps cache. Or Twrp wipe.

SD Maid can't touch the system cache and normally has a default value it ignores when cleaning app caches. Best to manually clean suspect ones.
When clearing apk data doing it in Settings can leave what I presume to be nulls behind.
I had an a Android system apk that in Settings I couldn't completely clear it but this app could.

It saved me from a factory reset. Another reason this app is a useful, versatile and powerful tool that I value.

How to resolve "Unfortunately camera has stopped in Samsung Galaxy A21"

I have experienced that when I start a camera app it just went to stop by displaying a "Unfortunately Camera has stopped" warning. I have restarted my device and again try to open the app and still, frequently it went stopped. How can I resolve this error to start capturing again?
Sometimes it will be caused, when you install the third-party camera app or when an app is not supported by the device hardwires. If it is not working after restarting, just try these steps.
1. Uninstall the other camera app
Sometimes when you are using other camera apps it may block the main camera app on your Android. If non of the camera app installed skip this and move next action.
2. Clear cache and data of the Camera App
By clearing cache data camera will restart with fresh mode and still not running delete the app data and it will resolve your problem.
3. Clear or wipe system cache.
For this purpose go to “Settings”, select “Storage & Memory”, and tap on “Cache data”. Now You can click “OK” to confirm. Otherwise, you can perform stock recovery and the delete system cache.
4.Update your software
Sometimes the pending updates may require proper functioning. So try next time with the installed updates for Samsung Galaxy A21
5.Flash Stock ROM
If you have flashed any custom or ported ROM then make sure to install stoke ROM. If you already have stock ROM download flash ROM by given instructions here.
6.Install Google Camera App.
If all of the above solutions do not work for you try to install the Google Camera app and set it as the primary camera app. Try it after disabling the stock camera app through the settings.
First, you may need to hold on to the app icon and tap on the info option. Then you can press disable the camera app.
Alternatively, you can go to settings, select Application List, and tap camera.
7. Reset your device
If all of the above steps are fail on positive resulting, then finally you can Reset the android device. Before that create a backup of all personal data on your device to ensure the data's existence after resetting. To do that Go to “Setting”, select “Backup & Reset”. Then tap Factory data reset. Now you can Reset the Phone. Read more...
