CM11 M10 on SM-G900P (KLTE)??

Has anyone successfully flashed the new Cyanogenmod Update on the GS5 from Virgin Mobile? I have been unable to get it to work. The updater script wont let me flash, and even when I delete the first section, the installation is still aborted. Any suggestions?

I don't get an error. It just says "Installation Aborted"

Weird, would you mind sending me the zip? I'll look at it for you If you can't get it working, try re-downloading, if not I'll start putting out my own nightlies ONLY for kltespr.

All I did to it was delete the first couple of lines off the updater_script to where the first word was "mount".

The zip you sent has another folder called Rom in the root I'll fix it and send it back to you, next time when you make the zip don't zip the folder, zip the system, meta whatever, and data inside of the folder, zip all of those.

Good news and bad news, I was successfully able to flash CM11 on the S5, but now the APN Settings are messed up, and I cant get data or send MMS.

I had the same thing, (YOU SHOULD TRY PAC ROM IN THE ORIGINAL DEVELOPMENT PAGE, MORE FEATURES cx) mess around with the settings, try flashing a modem, take your sim card out and back in, airplane mode and back, odin flash, dunno what else.

Is there a way to just flash cm11? Thats about the extent of my knowledge

It would be great if someone could edit them for the rest of us and post them.

what recovery did you use? I flashed using modified TWRP and data and mms work fine..

Does anybody else have "pay with my Verizon wireless account" as a payment option on play store?? I'm on sprint. It shouldn't say that. It doesn't work but it annoys me being there

Unlocked Sprint LS996 wont activate on Sprint

I inadvertently purchased a international unlocked LS996 from a ebay seller not realizing it until I tried to activate it on Sprint today. So hoping dd'ing ZV6 stock image would remove whatever the seller did for some reason still will not activate on sprint. Profile/PRL both fail. I have updated to ZV7 as well with no luck. I get 3g data. no lte or calls. I had called sprint and they said they had issues provisioning phones today and had a backlog. Not sure if i believe them or if its something with the phone
What else needs to be done to get this back working on sprint?

Anyone?
Does flashing the stock system bring the phone back to stock, or is it that what the seller did unable to activate on sprint now?

what you need is the original node.db files from the carrier folder
but you need your phone rooted for doing this.
then you can flash back to stock with the corresponding system image and the OTA update to ZV9.
I will upload this files for you in case you cant find them. :good:

Yeah I didnt have the original ones on this phone. It came like this. So if you could upload them that would be great im rooted already on ZV9.
Althugh Im haveing a weird issue with wifi saying no internet access when i know my home network is fine...is this related?
Also what are the permissions supposed to be on the /carrier/app/ folder and the node files?

Well I take it back LTE is showing a connection but anything outside of google.com does not work

Thats because the majority of us buy the phone NOT to use it with sprint but with any other carrier Domestic or INTL.

I understand that but usually there is a method to revert changes. What if someone wanted to sell the phone?
I need to figure this out or try to return it soon. Im close but I cant find any information on what is supposed to be in the carrier folder and the original permissions .
A tot flash will brick the device since im on ZV9 correct?

I resolved my issues. I will update the op for anyone one who need instructions to revert to stock for the carrier partition to use on Sprint since there is no documentation to undo on these forums.

Please do update OP. I'm in a similar boat- unlocked phone that I did manage to activate on sprint but I cannot get several things to work such as: updating PRL, updating profile, visual VM to pick up messages. All of these throw up Authentication Failed messages. Otherwise the phone does generally work well on sprint's networks. There's another thread in here somewhere that outlines the process I (and others) had to go through to get activation to work though it does not seem flawless given these other persistent issues.

I had to do a factory reset via recovery. Clearing the cache as well
Do you have all of the subfolders and files in the carrier folder?

How to root the LG tribute 5

(Warning im not responsible for anything that could happen to your phone. If you choose to follow these instructions do so at your own risk)
To Root the lg tribute 5. You need to use kingroot. This is the easiest way to root it
1) go to your setting.
Then scroll to about phone
click on software information.
Then you will see build number and tap on it 8 times
until you unlock developer options
Then go back to the beginning of setting, you will see Developer options
Click on it and then enable USB Debugging then hit ok
2) After that download KingRoot from the link below and install it
Link: http://www.kingroot.net/wap
3) After its installed run the application and follow what it says.
( phone might reboot so dont worry, if it does reboot just go back into the application and keep going)
4) After it finish, reboot the phone and you should be successfully rooted

No Unfortunately, but I'm not sure but this might be a "CDMA" phone. Here is a Web-site that you might like to read about this topic "http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2476565,00.asp" but really I don't know how to unlock it. Hope this helps

Unfortunately that isn't accurate. You will only be partially rooted. You cannot access the bootloader to install a custom ROM.

Locked Bootloader and no custom recoveries but I don't see how its not full root? I have the xposed framework flashed and superSU as my root manager.

From what I have seen I would say that the LG LS675 (Tribute 5) is both GSM and CDMA.

The inability to flash a custom recovery so one could make a full nandroid backup or flash a different ROM is what defines it as not a full root. Rooting (a full root) gives full access to all aspects of the device. Without the ability to make a backup, if Google decides to half-ass an update that causes glitches, there's no way to flash a backup, because a full one cannot be made.
I'm still trying to find out how it was claimed someone managed to unlock it... or if anyone have the VZ4 firmware in a dz file format...haven't found anything yet, except for the poster who's post was removed for attempting to profit off the forums.

Downloading it now to see if it's a .dz file in a .zip download, or just a .zip which won't work as the default recovery considers almost everything to be unsigned.

I downloaded it it's the kernel and Android in tar.gz format

As did I. The only issue is how to compile it into .dz format for flashing via the LG UP program.

I got mine unlocked. I'm using with cricket but getting only 3g speeds. Followed this tutorial

Bypassing Activation did not work.
It tries 5 times then stays on a "Self Service" black screen...
This is a Boost Pre-Paid device; not sure if that makes a difference...?

Nevermind. I finally got it to unlock.
But I'm using TMO and, like you, can only get a 3G connection with 3M/2M speeds...
Anyone know how to resolve this?

Does Tribute 5 have its own thread? I'm rooted, debloated. Disabled one process lg update but it doesn't seem to significantly improve battery life. Something drains the battery. I also have Treasure with tracfone. It has much better battery life. Are there any other processes i can safely uninstall?

Yes, it probably will. If you are that worried about it, backup your data first. Odin will work even with the bootloader locked. Locked bootloader does not prevent you from loading official firmware.

What app can we use to back up all data like apps sceen layout ect... since we don't have root on Verizon, I know we can't use titanium back up because we don't have root bit is their a similar app to do what that does

Helium or My Backup Pro, but they are limited without root, which means some data can be restored, but not all.

I extract and I get several files? None of them being .tar files. Does anyone have the 4 files to flash in odin? Am I the only one who didn't get the 4 files mentioned when extracting the Md5? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to go in odin and select PDA and then add the entire md5 file! If you don't want to do it that way, then you have to download a zipping app like 7z or similar and create the .tar yourself.. Which is pointless unless you're planning on flashing 1 file like the boot.img for a reason or other.. The md5 file has all of the files that need to be flashed there's no need to unzip the files. Just flash as is!
If you're downloading from the OP then you need to unzip the file from the .zip because you can only flash .md5 or .tar.

Try flashing a modem only file then which is for that signal.. Also boot into recovery using the 3 button combo and clear your Cache after a flash..

I've cleared it after flash and no fix. Does anyone have a modem file I could use. Does it have to be from the same firmware version? Sorry just not really experienced just need to fix this phone it's killing me. I got it off Craigslist don't know the history of it I just know that flashing a fresh stock rom didn't fix the issue.

Is it an actual Verizon phone? And do you know for sure that it's Verizon? Go into settings then about phone and tell me what model it says. If it says other than SM-N920V then it's not a Verizon one.. You can only flash firmware for a specific carrier.. Also check the APN settings too.. And about the modem no you don't have to use the same exact one from the same firmware version you can try a different one however I don't think that'll fix the problem.. Try checking the APN settings first.. Also if you just dropped a sim card into it without first giving Verizon the IMEI then it's not gonna work! You'll have to give them the IMEI and if the IMEI is bad the phone will never work at least not with Verizon.

It is indeed n920v clean imei through verizon prepaid. It gets apn through SIM card which is accurate I have signal T all times and internet/mms work. However when I boot my phone or randomly every so often it will say 'searching for service' throughout the day while still full having signal. Maybe try using this downgraded version from my Android File Host and flash it using odin but before flashing take the sim card out and after it's done flashing immediately do a factory reset by holding the power and volume down button and after the screen turns off and then back on select shut down and then boot into recovery and do the factory reset after it's finished put the sim card back in then turn it on and go through all the setup and see if it works.. Let the phone charge some first don't try doing this at 3% battery cause if it shuts down in the middle it can brick the phone. Not likely but it could.

Hello guys I am on the same boat here I literally spent all day today looking for a way to crack this bad boy but I think there is not much development going on at this moment since the model is still pretty new, one thing I need your help or at least point me to the right direction is how did you guys got this phone to work??? I received this phone last week and I inserted my att SIM it did not work then I inserted my cricket sim from work and did not get service either I have been using unlocked phones for a while but I never had this issue, anyhow I went on and edited and saved the APN's for both providers ATT & Cricket and nothing still no service but when I hit available networks it shows 4G att, 3G att, and even 2G but it fails to connect I even used a good ol' app called LTE On/Off to set the phone on Global or LTE/CDMA/UMTS auto (PRL) and still no luck am I missing anything? any help is more than welcome!

i found the stock.img and a twrp of mtk6753, but my porting is not working.. if anyone want try i will upload

I'm not sure if this may help I've been getting disconnections really bad I opened up the phone and had to check the antenna wire and it was unplugged hope this helps

*UPDATE*
i found a way to root oukitel k10000 max using magisk manager and it patched the boot img ive uploaded a zip file of the latest oukitel k10000 max software with magisk hope this works and i still havent figured out how to get twrp on this device and im trying to find a way to get nfc and wireless charging on this device too ill share the link for rooted oukitel k10000 max rom heres the link

Did the phone started working for you right after you plugged the antenna??? I spend 3 hours today trying to get this guy to connect to my cell service provider AT&T and no luck, I am pretty sure is something else I am missing according to oukitel this device has a worldmode LTE chip MediaTek MT6753 1.3 Gzh Octacore so connection should not be an issue.

thanks for your contribution quick question how do you flash the ROM???

Use sp flash tool to flash the zip file and the signal still drops out but not as much

Hi i installed the ROM magisk work well but... The camera don't focus and the frontal one is pink....

I just noticed that too I'm trying to find a work around but no luck I tried other camera apps but no fix I'll keep trying I'll use magisk again and try reapplying the systemless root I may have a slight fix I messed with the camera settings it improved a bit

One of companies I bought it from on aliexpress they sent it to me I'll try this rom out and upload to needrom so everyone can have rooted phone

getting a lag on opening magisk for some reason ill reinstall rom to see if it fixes really slow lag
