hi, i have a redmi6 cereus (type M1804C3DG 64GB) android 8.1 and i have upgraded from miui global 9.6 to miui global V10.2.6.0 (OCGMIXM) stable.
i have created a miui account and i’m waiting the last days for bootloader unlocking permission.
even if i loose warranty i decided to root it (the idea is to install twrp - the only way i know to make full backups and magisk).
but before i would like to know if there is any way to make a full backup of the stock rom as is (maybe before unlocking or before installing recovery) to eventualy restore phone as it came (if it has sense relocking bootloader and restoring stock rom) to see if in case it’s possible to try not to loose warranty
so is there any way to make a full backup of the stock rom (not in cloud) i mean to an sd card or to a pc to eventualy restore to stock if needed?
I can backup data partition only in LR TWRP. But i can backup everything else in every TWRP for R6.
stuck in locked bootloader

good, tnx for the tip, i'll consider the second then.
unfortunately i'm blocked since more than 3 weeks and i don't know how to come out from an idiot message that says that i haven't used the phone enough.
the situation is this:
redmi 6 (cereus type M1804C3DG 64GB) android8.1
upgraded from miui global 9.6 to miui global V10.2.3.0 (OCGMIXM) stable
the phone is still always logged in the mi account from the beginning when i’ve tried to unlock
spent 15 days waiting unlock permissions but the result is that mi unlock (3.3.827.31 official) tells me is: "Couldn't unlock"
the dispotic reason in chineese ideograms reports: “The phone has not been used for the specified time and cannot be unlocked" 手机使用未达到指定时间,无法解锁 (with the button below “unlock again”)
after theese 15 days i'm still logged and i’ve spent the following 9 days using it more, but trying to unlock gives always the same idiot message
i feel rooked because i'm not the owner of the phone i've buyed
any ideas on any way to unlock?

* remove the account do a factory reset.
* re-add the same account.
* enable oem-unlocking & mi unlock permission in developer setting.
* download older version of mi unlock tool (I used 2.3.803.10)
* flash twrp & your flavours.

I had to wait 1 month for unlock. Maybe it might have got bugged. Try waiting for 1 month in total.

hey bro this was the key!! successfully unlocked, don't know how to thank you man!!
hey since i'm quite sure to have lost warranty, i'd like to be sure about the steps because reading around i saw that once flashed twrp to make it permanent i should wipe data and to disable force encryption flashing also lazyflasher or no-verifyencrypt so avoiding that at first reboot system re-encrypts again and that twrp will be replaced from stock recovery, is it right?
magisk a part, did you flash something else after twrp?

If you want only rooted system then just format userdata in fastboot then flash twrp and then flash disableforceencryption or lazyflasher then magisk through twrp.

Hello all,
I have read so many threads, and finally I'm still not sure to have the right method.
My current config has no more memory to update apps so I need to do something ! Here are the details :
Huawei P8 Lite 2017 (PRA-LX1)
build : 8.0.0.402 (C432patch01)
EMUI : 8.0.0
Android : 8.0.0
After reading several threads, here are my questions :
1. I have to use DC Unlocker --> is it always mandatory ?
2. Which TWRP do I have to use ? (link please, I'm completely lost, an still doesn't know which one to download ! )
3. LineageOS 15.1 seems to be the best choice (battery stamina), does it work perfectly ? (GPS, camera...)
4. What about Treble Project ? I still doesn't understand it is a better idea, how to install it, which ROM to use...
Thanks for all of your replies !
Hello,
DC-Unlocker is mandatory if your bootloader is locked. Recently, TWRP went official on P8 Lite 2017 devices. You can grab it from the official TWRP website (can't post links as I am a new user, search for 'prague' in the device list). I am using LineageOS 15.1 on my device and it's working flawlessly.
I use chimera to unlock bootloader.
But every custom to a have to flash isn't work. Boot loop or other issuses, like "device is uncertificated" so any google apps don't work.
Do i need to decrypt memory? To flash corectly custom rom.
Finally i have only root, and clean all brand apps.

Decrypt in which case? If everything works there is no need to decrypt.

1. Download DC Unlocker from GPlay, buy credits (it will send you username and password to your email)
2. Download DC Unlocker to your pc, in phone allow ADB debuging and HDB
3. Type into call app '*#*#2846579#*#*', tap on 'Background settings', next on 'USB Ports Settings' and select 'Manufacture mode'.
4. Plug your phone to PC and click on 'Detect device' and allow all stuff that will pop up on your phone.
5. Click on 'Server' tab (we are still on PC) and enter username and password you've got from app and 'Check login'.
6. Click on 'Unlocking' tab and choose 'Unlock bootloader code'. And your code should popup in text log.
7. Let's move to your phone, go to settings -> developer settings -> Enable OEM unlocking, enter your password.
8. Power off your phone and when it vibrate push Vol - and Power button at same time.
8. Plug it back to your PC and start Command prompt, enter 'fasboot oem unlock 00112233445566778899' (use your code).
9. Now just accept unlocking and formating all your data on the phone.
10. Download TWRP and let's flash it using command 'fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp.img' (if your command prompt is in for example C:\Users\Pepege just cd to your Downloads directory where is downloaded .img file)
11. If it's succesfull just type 'fastboot reboot' and keep holding volume up, if eRecovery pops up click on reboot and this time hold volume up and down (idk why but sometimes works this and sometimes this combo)
12. If you are in TWRP just format DATA, CACHE and Dalvik Cache partition, make backup (if you wanna) and now flash whatever you wanna. LOS, AOSP, it's on you.
Also if you wanna LOCK (not relock) your device, download HuRuUpdater, download oldest version of Android for your model and region (C432 in this case) and flash it, after you reboot from recovery go to bootloader (fastboot mode) and type on your pc 'fastboot oem relock 00112233445566778899' then 'fastboot reboot' now do first setup, go to developer options, disable 'Enable OEM unlock', format data again (to be safe) and you are ready to go, after updating to oreo relock status should change to locked.
EDIT: Adding random Youtube video just in case https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pclEmwt5C84
EDIT2: Project treble is simply stuff splitting system from vendor, it's on every device runing on oreo or better, more here https://www.xda-developers.com/goog...ze-android-so-oems-can-update-devices-faster/
Also for me best ROM are AOSP 10 and LOS 17.1
No custom rom wanted to boot. The method on this page will not work. All that's left for me is to decrypt the phone's memory. but then knowing that the weekend was over and I needed a phone call on Monday, I just let go.
@DunoCZ
What a great post, thank you so much !!!
Some people have reported more battery consumption on Lineage 16 and 17, compared to 15. Did you test all of these ROM ? Are there people here who have some feedback ?
@flgmnft
If I unterstand well, I need to extract fstab file from the ROM archive in order to remove the encryption : can you confirm or explain me what to do ?
@ilakhnon
It seems you don't have the encryption problem, what is your opinion about it ? did you edit the ROM fstab file ? other ?

hummmmm.... bad news : my phone is not detected by DC Unlocker !
I should have tried before buying the license, but it doesn't matter.
But don't you find it strange ?
oh... I didn't read it correctly, the P8 Lite 2017 is not supported, only the P8 Lite (that was my mistake).
But I wonder if I really need it, because I bought it "sim unlocked", what do you think about it ?
EDIT : in other words, how can I know if I can erase the original bootloader ? (adb method)

Then try using hisuite to downgrade to nougat, but after unlocking upgrade to oreo to have treble enabled.
I'm waiting for an answer from DC unlocker's developper, and I will test this solution if I don't have another choice.
(I don't know if it is easy to downgrade with HiSuite, I've never used it, I will see that later).
Thank you for your help.

Hello @DunoCZ,
I was thinking about this post... I won't need to unlock the bootloader if I downgade to Nougat ?
Is there a topic talking about it ?
EDIT : Sorry, I didn't read correctly your post. Unlocking will probably be mandatory, so it doesn't change anything for me.

There's no problem unlocking 2017 with DC Unlocker which I did two days ago.
Install HiSuite and run it once to be sure you got proper drivers and make sure you put USB into manufacture mode.

I had the same issue, and contacted dc_unlocker's developer. Basically, the software can read the bootloader unlock password if it just discoverer the phone's port, even if does not seem to recognize the phone. I had to go ahead an got the code, for 4 credits/€
I'm also interested in knowing what is the best overall ROM these days in terms of compatibility and battery consumption!
Hello all,
Sorry for my silence, I had to go back to work, and after a few days I was seriously ill. I begin to recover some energy, it's not great, but enough to come back here... and because my phone, stiill with the original system, becomes really too slooooooooooooow !
@buteo : Do you confirm me I can go further with DC-unlocker software, in order to unlock the bootloader without any risk ?
@All :
As @Natural_High asked, which ROM is currently the best choice ?
Thanks for your help !

You can use DC-unlocker, it's safe. I used it myself a couple of months ago too.
Regarding the ROM, I haven't tried any Android 10 or 9 ROMs. From what I've seen, people say it's still a bit too buggy, so I went for LineageOS 15.1 and it worked fine. I did some tests, since I don't use it as my daily driver, but eveything seemed to work fine! anyway, feel free to try some of the newer ROMs and let us know your opinion
Thank you very much for your answer !
Lineage 15.1 was my preferred choice, I think I will use it.
I hope I won't have any issues, since I really need my phone...
Let's go for backup...
Read the last page here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8...geos-15-1-huawei-p8-lite-2017-t3886328/page35
The steps that worked for me are there.
Can anyone point me to a guide to do a rollback from 12.5.1 CN ROM to any 12.0.x official CN ROM?
The upgrade to Android 11 was a bad mistake, a lot of things are broken and my notifications (Whatsapp, etc) are no longer working properly.
Is there anti-rollback protection in 12.5.1?
I figured out it's as simple as request Bootloader unlock, then using miflash fastboot to flash the official 12.0.15 fastboot rom with the clean all and lock option?
That's all right? nothing special?

I just checked there is no ARB for mi 10 ultra on the 12.0.15..
on my mi 10 ultra:
C:\adb>fastboot getvar anti
anti: 1
finished. total time: 0.009s
anti = 1
which is the same as the number is anti_version.txt in

How are you getting anti rollback error when you are still locked and not able to flash?
For the contacts to numbers issue, just set permission for whatsapp to access Contacts to ALWAYS, don't use Allow only when using app.
that will fix the issue.

try again when your bootloader is unlocked! Use the full recovery rom instead of the OTA flashrom.
Ya.. cas_images_V12.0.15.0.QJJCNXM_20201209.0000.00_10.0_cn_77d730d8ca.tgz should be the fastboot rom to use.
If you really need to go back, I think you will need an authorised ESL flash from one of the Russian guys.
Managed to rollback to 12.0.15 using miflash last night when my BL got unlocked. just by flashing the 12.0.15 fastboot rom over the 12.5.1 rom in the mi 10 ultra.
nothing extra or special was needed..
i did get a error flashing sparsecrclist.txt error, so i just commented out that line in the BAT and it worked.. LOL
One time affair.. all good now!
i am never touching the 12.5 firmware ever again!

If you were bootloader unlocked with twrp installed I'm sure it was possible flashing the 12.0 on 12.5 and than format data (which requires typing "yes") and all would have been good, but that's just my thought based on my android experience and knowledge, cheers
Hello Android-Wizzards,
i am stuck in a Bootloop to stock recovery mode since i tried to downgrade my mi note 10 pro from MIUI 12 V12.1.4.0.RFDEUXM to MIUI 12 V12.1.3.0.RFDEUXM via the update app .
After the OTA update to 12.1.4. i could not make any calls anymore so i searched for a way to downgrade to 12.1.3, where the problem was not present. I did it with the internal update app and followed this instruction: https://www.world-today-news.com/th...evert-your-xiaomi-a-buggy-update-xiaomi-news/
Sadly i didnt make a backup before anf after the rom finished installing it only boots to stock recovery anymore. If i try to connect the device via "Connect with MIAssistant" it does not work.
I searched the forums but i cant find a way to install MIUI 12 V12.1.4.0.RFDEUXM again.
The tutorials mention that if i want to recover my phone i have to use MIflash or fastboot flash which both need a unlocked bootloader according to the tutorials.
Sadly i did NOT unlock the bootloader when the phone was working normal and i dont see a method to umlock the bootloader an a bricked / bottloped mi note 10 pro.
Its bad enough that cause i didnt make a backup befor i tried to downgrad i must assume that all my pbhotos i took this year with my note 10 pro are lost forever, Mi cloud backup is full since last year and i didnt bother to pay for more space, another bad decicion in hindsight but is there a way i can restore my phone?
Please help, i dunno what else to do to get my phone booting up agian.
Had a simmilar problem with an older mi phone of mine a few years ago and then it wasnt a problem cause i could easyli flash it with MIflash, but dunno since when you have to unlock bootloader first and since i didnt know that my phone has a locked bootloader, never minded to unlock it.

Did you try wipe data with the recovery?
or try this old method.
Did you try to flash the rom in recovery again?
hi, i updated my phone to MIUI 13.0.3 android 12 and i've noticed a bug that made all the apps that are using the camera like instagram and snapchat take blurry pictures like an effect getting applied to the pictures taken by those apps (everything normal in my stock camera app) so i decided to use MiFlash tool to flash the previous android version on my phone but i bricked my phone instead i flashed a global rom while my phone is the chinese market version and accidently checked the ClearData+lock Device check box in MiFlash. the tool flashed the rom successfully but when the phone restarted it showed me a message saying that this rom cannot be installed on this device in recovery mode i couldn't do anything after cuz the bootloader got locked too T i tried everything to unlock it (mtk Client - bootloader unlocker+ adb fastboot + Xiaomi Unlock app ...). please help me is there any way i can fix my phone and what is the righ Rom to flash on my phone (Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G China (21091116C - Pissarro). thnx
friend I'm not a star I tell you how things are 1) you can't go back with another Rom only china 2) anti-roll-back 3) MiCloud you have to disable it you can try MiflashV2 there is also to unlock the bootloader it does everything even the firmware remember if the firmware does not start. important not only china also not china for updates remember first you do the factory reset put google account do not update any app except google drive backup with drive if it has arrived update it is better by setting the time instead of downloading the package the problem is when the update occurs it fails to close all active apps and then there is MiCloud that blocks. Best wishes and good luck and that I have little time for me too much trouble here in Europe.

currently my phone is stuck at the logo and after seconds it loads Fastboot automatically i cant access the phone os to do anything i used the xiaomi bootloader unlocker app that works online but it didnt work . the local cell phone service shops told that they have to open the phones back case to fix it ... i dont want that i've just bought the phone didnt even use it for a whole month
they don't have to open it they use licensed or dongle software (USB type) currently I use unlocktoll.net but if the phone is under warranty and you haven't removed the bootloader before it is better for you. It is possible that others have the same problem as you. Good luck

Rule number 1 for Xiaomi never flash anything on Mediatek devices, it will fail. If messed up, no way back as Xiaomi locks the devices for autorized service providers or local Xiaomi branches only. If you want to play with Xiaomi custom roms/development/etc. related only buy Snapdragon based devices.
I i.e. learned it the hard way, when this all started with the Redmi Note 8 Pro, I bricked it by flashing twrp in Android 11 and Xiaomi didn't want to repair it, so I had to pay some russian guy to fix it via Teamviewer with a modified unlock tool which was able to answer the unlock requests by pasting the answer manually from a generator. It's not like I messed up at a point, it's just that Mediatek devices easily fall in a unrecoverable state. In my term it was the combination of Android version and twrp. You will note there is no Mediatek support on xda and even when your device is named like a Snapdragon version, your device is offtopic here, because trying anything on it beyond unlocking the bootloader is harakiri
how to unlock my bricked Redmi Note 11 Pro 5g (Chinaissarro) Bootloader
Congratulation. Brick without unlocked BL :/
my opinion: you are done....
Some Xiaomi devices have pins on motherboard to
switch EDL, but i dont know with this device.
Try complaint and say something like: "my phone was upgraded and then i see only logo"

I did the same with my device. You can fix it using the MTK tools guide. Its lengthy but easy.

rule #1 with Xiaomi - bootloader is unlocked
I have a Russian (thanks Amazon !!) Redmi 9a 32Gb/2gb. It is currently running latest 12.0.x ROM version, but i would like to upgrade it to 12.5.
I see on xiaomi ROM site there is currently a 12.5.x version for Russian version, but the OTA never arrived and if i download the recovery zip file and install it manually, it fails verification and stops.
Is there a way to install 12.5 without unlocking the bootloader ?
Is 12.5 supported on this specific redmi 9a ?
thanks !
mmm... spflashtool might work, but Ive only ever used it on a bircked device to unbrick it, never on a functional device to just change the ROM version, but if you really wanna do it without unlocking bootloader thats your best choice.
I will say anyway, its probably safer to unlock bootloader install recovery and install the rom from there, its your call tho.
Heres how I unbricked my device
[GUIDE] Unbrick hard-bricked device
Condition Phone does not turns on Phone not detected via USB Phone handshake/memory hash failed Requirements Unplug battery Download MIUI 12.5.4.0.RCDMIXM Fastboot ROM Download Scatter File for 12.5.4.0.RCDMIXM Download SP Flash Tool Download...

Right now I cannot unlock the bootloader, maybe in the next months I might try (I want to wait for the warranty to expire). My concern is that my version of Redmi 9A with just 2G of Ram is actually not compatible with MIUI 12.5. The 12.5 rom is actually available, but OTA will leave me in the 12.0 branch and verification fails if I try to install the ROM manually. I would not want to brick it by installing an unsupported ROM.
My phone model is M2006C3LG and the ROM I have right now says I have 1.8Gb of available RAM, I don't think you have a different device from mine.
Im a total n00b so I may be wrong about this next thing, but, I think the only difference is what version of MIUI they were sold with since the hardware doesn't allow downgrades further than the stock ROM that came with the device.
There is always antirollback after MIUI 10, but I think its even further locked for the original stock ROM that came to the device, but yeah, this is all my own speculation due to a bricking incident I faced.
The model number is the same, but the 9A was available with different sizes of RAM 2 or 3 or 4 Gb. Mine is the low end 32/2 which is the model still on sale today. If you still have 1.8 Gb of free RAM you very likely has the 3 or 4 GB model.
Maybe you are right, the OTA allows only for updates within the same MIUi version; I saw several guides on-line and i think i will try the miflash tool and switch to the global version. I have to find a way to unlock bootloader without Xiaomi account (no way in hell I'm signing up for that) and without sim card (this phone is used as a smaller wi-fi only tablet). There are some tools for an offline unlock, I will try those first.
It is incredible how Xiaomi is making it complex just to update to a stable official ROM; given also how much bloatware is shovelled with the stock ROM, I'm not sure I will ever consider Xiaomi again.

Thanks for the info. So you upgraded to latest 12.0 without moving to 12.5, any reason for not trying 12.5 ? The phone is currently barely usable with Android 10, maybe Android 11 is even heavier, but why not give it a try ?
I saw several youtube videos and guides and by using MI Flash with a Fastboot image (scattered tgz) it should be a total reflash of the phone.
