Android Pie - Google pixel 2 and call recorder help needed - Google Pixel 2 Questions & Answers

Hi Dear Google Pixel 2 fellows,
I need some help.
While there are threads about google disabling the API to allow call records on pie , some of my friends who use Samsung just upgraded to Pie while having same functionality with call record.
I am stalling my upgrade for months as I do not want to lose the ability for call record .
Did any of you use the call recorder on Pie ?
Thx

I use Super Backup (mainly to back up apk's so when a grenade update for an app comes out I can go back) but it also has a call record feature that I utilize. I usually just delete my calls but if there is one that I need, I'll have the recording of it to refer back.

My only concern is that after Pie upgrade ( from Oreo which I am currently on ) I wont be able to record 2 way conversation .
Since google published that they no longer will support 3rd parties call record apps
H T T P ://bitbucket.org/copluk/acr/issues/2418/kb-android-9-p-call-recording-issues
So I wonder if anyone who has Pixel 2 /XL upgraded to Pie and kept his 2 way call record functionality

[Q] Voip Call Recorder for Whatsapp

Hi
Is there any app to record voip calls of whatsapp or other voip services.
Thanks
Thats what I'd like to know, too. As far as I know there's no such thing for whatsapp. Since the function is quite new, I'm quite sure that it'll take some time until someone gets it working. I didn't find any working skype call recorder, that's why I think It'll take A LOT of time... or is there a working skype recorder?
for "normal" calls I use "Total Recall" what is - in my opinion - by far the best call recording app! sadly it does not work with VOIP and I don't think the developers are going to implement this (since apps like skype are closed source, I think).
I am looking for the same: an app that records Whatsapp calls.
Anything available?
i could do it
Original sound quality would be good. Additionally, speech and recieved speech should not be mixed up in the same audio track.
How it can be done ??

I am working on this but stuck with a roadblock
The problem is that whatsapp itself uses MediaRecorder API to record and that prevents any other app from using MediaRecorder to record calls when whatsapp call is going on.
I have tried to find location of audio file that whatsapp is storing but couldn't.
I am out of ideas now. Can someone please suggest some way out?
Cube Call Recorder is able to, on phones with hardware that is able to process two simultaneous audio recording sessions.
They have a list of supported devices here.
Is there any other solution with root, because cube recorder is not working for me

Automatic Call Recorder: 10/10 best Android call recorder app!

Just wanted to give my review for the Automatic Call Recorder App which I have been using for a while now and absolutely love it!
So the app loads as soon as you make an outgoing call or accept an incoming call. You have multiple file formats to save the calls from mp3 to 3gp there's a good few more options. The UI is very simple to use and you can track back over a lot of phone calls. I recommend to use at least a 32gb memory so you can as calls that happened a while ago. If you want to hear a particular call, just find it from the call log in the app and simply press the play button. The sound quality is great and there has never been any distortion on playback. If you wanted to share the call recording then you are able to with a simple one click on the share button. I have installed this app on all my family members phones and they love it too. The "recent calls" and "frequent calls" drop down so you can easily see the list of the call logs made. There are a lot of additional features in the settings and all user friendly for anyone to get set up on. The "Memory Info" shows how much free memory you have left and converts this into how long you can record based on the free space left so there is no hidden tabs you need to go to in order to find out the important information. I definitely recommend this app to anyone who wants to have their phone calls recorded, well worth the money and very stable - not once has the app ever crashed on me. 10/10 rating.
Here is a link to the app from the market store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.globaleffect.callrecord
Here is a screenshot of how the UI looks like:
does it work om Android 7.1.1 ?

Not work me correctly
Hi, I have a P8 lite with the version of android 6.0.1 (b574 stock) and the application does not work me correctly, it almost does not listen and it does not record all the calls. When I had Lollipop 5.0.1 it worked very well and a very good sound.
What can I do to make it work just as well as before, but in 6.0.1?
I need help please. Thank you very much.
Regards
I use AndroRec Free Call Recorder instead.
It's completely free, completely offline, no trial, no ads, no analytics, no IAP, no recording limitations. Developer is from India. Last update is 10 Jul 2016. It supports Android Marshmallow. It's very lightweight too, taking only 844 kb in my device. No running in background.

With ACR I think you can only exclude certain callers from being recorded, rather excluding every call except ones that you specify

Call Recording Feature APK ?

My Settings does not have the option for call recording but i notice others in different regions do.
Its legal in my state to record without consent any conversation i am a part of. Devices and Surveillance Act 1999 Victoria. Same applies for Northern Territory and Queensland.
I wonder if its possible that someone with the S10plus or a Samsung model who has this feature to extract and make a apk to enable it.
When i had the Huawei Mate 20 Pro the feature was not available but a few months after release someone managed to extract and make a apk from another Huawei phone or firmware. This worked perfectly and there was no background sound distortion like there is with 3rd party apps.

I believe on Android 10 only root can help you now. Google removed any possibilities already.
Try skvalex call recorder. But even this one will make a lausy recording if any without root.
If you root, but I guess you are with snapdragon, it will be easy. You can simply edit your cscfeature.xml and activate this functionality as a stock feature. Or when rooted, use the call recorder mentioned above.

Which possibility did Google remove, recording calls? This is incorrect. As the OP said - and I know for a fact from personal experience - stock ROMs in other countries (for example - Israel), on all recent Samsung models, have built-in Call Recording.

I think that by following the line of "conversation" here it is more or less clear that what I said is meant for the countries that are not supported by Google for call recording.

Yes correct, Australia does not have stock call recording, because some states have different laws.
Queensland, Northern Territory and Victoria are exempt from these laws, under the surveillance devices act 1999 its legal to secretly record without consent any conversation that you are a part of.

I upgraded to the S20Ultra and Cube ACR still working so far. Seems clearer than the S10+ managed to get.
ACR (another call recorder by NLL Apps) is working ok on my s10+. You should give it a try. Of course is recording background and caller voice is lower but does it's job.

Hi ,
You need to root your phone
or maybe download call recorder from play store
True Phone dialer app works recording both sides except if your calling with wifi calling then it won't record the other side of the call only your side.
ACR you need to install from the galaxy store not from google apps https://galaxystore.samsung.com/det..._id=W_15fd7e58a4696d0121c0cc4ad18f1349&sign=1 works fine on S10+

Native call recording EMUI 10.1

Hi all,
Coming from Samsung one UI it was disappointing to know there is no native call recording in EMUI 10.1. What is the best alternate to this? Is there a way to flash this call recording separately and make it work integrated with the dialer? If not suggest me the next best app you are using
Thanks
:crying:
I tried multiple apps, most record the voice of the caller thru the your mic, others don't work at all. The most stable app I found is Cube ACR, starts every time there is a call (not all apps manage that) but has the same problem, it can't record the caller voice directly.

Thanks for the response. We gotta wait for Huawei to do something about it then
i heard Its Andriod 10 Behaviour, and andriod 10 doesnt allow call recording.
The Chinese version has it in built. My mate 30 Pro Chinese version had it on 9 and 10, worked a treat but they just won't release it outside of china. Even with the actual app, our non Chinese roms won't allow it to be installed.
I keep requesting it, may be if more do, they might. Of course, it is still down to being allowed to record calls in your own country. Some do have restrictions, may be that is why they don't generally release it.
It is a dam good app with proper recording of both conversations even over Bluetooth.
Keep asking Huawei to get it out in the wider market
Working Call Recording with Huawei P40 Pro. With this call recorder I'm able to record incoming and outgoing calls (Not tested with bluetooth).

confirm, 10.1 only skvalex working....
11€ ow dear
EDIT: false, not working
Still don't understand the fascination with call recording. Obviously I don't have a big high-powered executive job that requires any call I get to be recorded.

Any fully working solution by now ?
What I understand from this convo, until now:
- Native mate 30 Pro Chinese dialer - we don't have APK, we can't install it on P40Pro, right ?
- ACR Pro Unchained - only my voice
- SKVALEX - only my voice
Is there any solution for call recorder ? I really miss it in my car as I can't write details, for those who think it's odd feature.
PS - is it possible that google apps I have installed are messing with recording others person voice or it's android problem ?

just a FYI, rooting (at least on this device) requires data wiping the device -- so please be aware that, if at this stage, if you have things set up and/or data on the device, you'll need to back them up and transfer them back and set everything back up.
So, to be sure, if it's worth all of that to have the ability to record phone calls must be weighed....
