Many of you who have a Windows Mobile past like me, might have instantly recognized the thin colorful line(s) in the above image. And for the new Android generation, introducing Energy Bar - a pulsating Battery indicator!
Energy Bar puts a thin line on top of your Status Bar whose length corresponds to your device's current Battery level.
Got a full charge? The line will cover the whole width of your screen.
Battery depleting? So will the length of Energy Bar.
After several iterations (thank you for the feedback, early testers), the App is now feature packed:
Energy Bar can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to cover the entire status bar
Energy Bar puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
Energy Bar's origin can be configured as left/center/right
Energy Bar can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
Energy Bar can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
Energy Bar could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient
You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
Energy Bar as a cool pulsating animation whenever a power source is plugged into your device
There is something about visual over numbers that keeps you and your device's battery level in sync with just a glance. You may find it intuitive/effective/stylish way to read the battery level, let me know what you think

Hopefully this helps. I downloaded a grey background image and viewed it in the inbuilt gallery app. There's four different photos, with the first three being the bar thickness set at 1, 7 and 15 and the finial image having it set to the status bar.
An important thing to note about t the status bar option though is the change it has when in fullscreen mode and not in landscape orientation. Whereas in portit there is no change.

Used this on my S8+ and now on my S10+
Love it but op please make slight adjustments, it is certainly thicker at the corner than along the top and doesn't quite look right but it's not far off
How did you get the bar all the way on the top, mine is always below it?
I know it's off topic, but is it possible to develop a bar around the camera cutout? To indicate battery level when screen is on and notification led when screen off.
Can you do this around the top and sides of the camera cutout?
Everyone wanted this since the s10+ leaks started to come out, it would look very elegant while serving the same use.
I would love, love, LOVE the ability to limit this to the notch only.

Use the APK in the OP.
Anyway to see this when the screen is off? That would be really helpful?

Adds a configurable Energy Ring around the camera lens indicating current Battery level. Dive into the various configuration options, not only you can quickly glance and get the battery info but, Energy Ring adds an accent to your phone's camera lens.
Got a full charge? The Ring will be a 360 degree wrap around the front camera lens.
Battery depleting? So will the arc of Energy Ring.
Out of the box features:-
✓ Energy Ring can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to a donut thick ring
✓ Energy Ring puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
✓ Energy Ring's direction can be configured as clockwise/bidirectional/anti-clockwise
✓ Energy Ring can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
✓ Energy Ring can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
✓ Energy Ring could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient (pro)
✓ You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
✓ Energy Ring has a number of cool animations whenever a power source is plugged into your device
All that is cool! But what about Energy Ring consuming Battery?!
This is one of the most exciting question for me to answer. Energy Ring more than anything understands that you need to utilize your battery efficiently (after all, that's why you installed the App, right? .) Energy Ring sits on the screen silently putting almost 0% load on CPU, if battery level changes, Android wakes up Energy Ring. Once awake, Energy Ring quickly updates itself and goes back to sleep. And to be that extra efficient, the Ring goes on deep sleep when you turn off the screen, meaning it doesn't even read changes in battery level when the screen is off.
Notification Access requirement:
Energy Ring does not read any Notification whatsoever, it merely relies on it to be alive. Be assured that the App does NOT access anything.

Thank you @AnthZulli for helping me out to get this version up!

It's a great job, thank you very much, it works very well in S10 +
Working great here will post a picture after work.
Yea it's working good on my S10+. Is it possible to make it show when you receive a notification instead?
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for this, I was really looking forward to this!
Only one suggestion, if we could adjust the left-right alignment of the circle around the camera, that would be perfect. Right now I looks good, and is very functional, but the left edge of my circle runs a little under the camera notch.
Also, is there a way to show this on the AOD?
4.5 out of 5, would donate/purchase app to support developer.
Does it drain battery like that other app that lights for notifications.

Well, it doesn't display when your screen is off, so I don't think it is going to have any MAJOR drain on it.
If any, it will be negligible. It only updates when the battery level changes.
It doesn't even show as an app when I check battery specs. I see my AOD using 1%.
OP, is there the ability to get this working with the AOD enable? I'd love to know the battery level with lockscreen/aod using the notch notification.
Also, please see if you can add the ability to reposition the notch led. The reason for that, I see that the notch ring is literally a millipixel off to the right, so the right side appears more full then the left side.
Didn't work for me initially. For some reason I had to uninstall, reboot my phone, then reinstall.
Works pretty good, but as others had stated before, it needs slight adjustment.
Another thing I would like to mention: the pixels are very noticeable, especially around the curves. Is there any way to make the ring have a better resolution?
Seems like the left side curve (toward the center of the screen) isn't as thick as the right (toward the outside edge) on my phone. Amusingly in screenshot it looks perfect so I wonder if the pixels it's trying to display in that spot don't actually exist, like it's offset slightly from the actual camera cutout?
Do we have to worry about burn in?
This is a really great app!!! Working well for me, thanks dev!!!
Should we worry about burn in?
If you leave the ring on your screen all the time, yes, you should worry about burn-in
Was excited for this, but had to get rid of it. With it running, you lose the ability to answer Yes/No when Chrome asks if the site you are on can access your location.
If the ring moves itself, i think the risk for burn-in the screen will be minimal.

Works quite well on a Nord 200, some of the time! If I check any of the hide options (e.g. hide in landscape) the ring is hidden but never comes back. Refresh does not help at all. Must kill the app and re-launch it to get the ring back. This is on a Nord N200 running LineageOS 19.1.
Is there some way to save and restore custom configurations of this app? When there is no preset model avaiable it takes a bit or work to get it right and the adjustment/setup screens don't even offer numerical values that one could make a note of.
If there is not a save/restore option currently could one be added in the near future?
Anyway, due to a number of inconsistencies I had to uninstall the app for now. If a newer version addresses some of these issues I will try it again.

From the looks of it, there doesn't seem to be a straight forward way to 'wake up' the smaller screen by a third-party App. I could play around and see if there is some workaround but then I don't own the device.
is the General version only work with Z Flip and not Z Flip 5G?
Update: Energy Ring - Universal Edition! on Play Store now supports all variants of Z Flip (5G now included.)
Still says unsupported device for the 5G Z Flip.
Update: Fixed the issue of System turning off Accessibility Service of Energy Ring frequently, it was a Android System Level bug, a workaround has been deployed successfully, let me know if Energy Ring is stable again for you! P.S. I am flooded with emails and messages, apologies if I couldn't reply all!
