Start HU without put the key on the car - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

Hey guys, I'm about to install a new stereo for my VW Jetta that is coming, talking to the vendor and explaining how it connects, it tells me that if I have CAN-BUS do not connect the ACC cables to each other, because I would spend the battery, the problem is that I can only turn on the stereo with the key in contact and I want to be able to turn it on without using the key, is there anything that can be done?

Want to use Xtrons TB706APL in 2008 Civic SI. Analog/Canbus compatibility questions

Hey guys
I'm looking to buy the Xtrons TB706APL to install in my 2008 Civic SI.
I'm concerned about the steering wheel button remap ability when installing the head unit. I understand that the Xtrons TB706APL is compatible with analog systems and if my car is analog, I can remap the steering wheel buttons.
The problem is that the 2008 Civic uses the can-bus system. This would mean that my car will not be able to map the steering wheel buttons to the head unit.
What would I need to do to make the Xtrons TB706APL compatible with my car?
Thanks!

Thanks for the response!
Woah I didn't even know they made a dash kit to fit 10.2 inch screens! Ive been looking at 7 inch screens this whole time!
If I buy this, which files should I use to make sure the unit won't drain the car battery and shut off.
Thanks!
Much appreciated!

Careful, I don't think that's the real HotAudio store, I think it's this one:
https://dasaita.aliexpress.com/store/all-wholesale-products/600991.html
I have the same issue, I have a 2012 Mazda3, the head unit I have is Green Yi Octacore 2GB RAM unit, specifically for my car, a CANBUS decoder is included but I can't remap any of the steering wheel buttons, the volume and track skipping buttons are functional but I cannot remap the phone buttons, I mean even the volume buttons when pressed in the key study app are not recognized.

What are you using the cam bus of the mazda for?
Mazda cars have resistive steering wheel signals (at least I checked it on my cx5)
If you remove your can-bus and connect directly to the headunit you will find that you can map all the keys of your steering wheel.
If you have reverse camera...the reverse signal could be can bus coded and you would need can-bus.
Check it.

They had Both stores, but the one you are pointing to is the most recent one.
Check your headunit in that store that @Leonkerman pointed. Thanks

I have a reverse camera hooked up to the head unit. The Aliexpress seller advised I can try and connect Key1 and Key2 wires but I'm not sure where to as I cannot seem to find information about it. I asked in the MTCDTools thread if it can be done through that app.

As HotAudio told me civic has analogue steering wheel controls ....so they can be connected directly to the headunit, as they are seemed to be resistive. No can-bus adapter is necessary

Mtcd tools is just a software to control apps by using the steering wheel controls once they are detected by headunit.
You can safely plug directly the key1 from.headunit to the corresponding wire to the mazda adapter as the picture

Thanks for the info, the diagram seems to be for a 2004-05 Mazda3, I will try to find one for my car, if there are 2 pins for steering wheel controls, should I connect both Key1 and Key2?

Hi
Do you know if the head unit will be able to connect to the 2008 honda civic stock amplifier? I just bought this model https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Dasaita-10-2-Android-6-0-Car-GPS-Player-for-Honda-Civic-with-Octa-Core-2GB/600991_32806691838.html?spm=2114.12010612.0.0.5bdadf47RXjNnZ
but it says that it wont be compatible with the amplifier.
What options do I have?
Thanks

Canbus selection in menu

I have a slight problem with canbus display, my HU only picks up opened door status and info showed in Mtccontrolinfo.apk (fuel level, handbrake, mileage and similar), but it should also display A/C settings.
Can this be changed by selecting another canbus version in factory settings?
Anybody had luck with it?

Why it should?
Do you have any proof in which air conditioning settings are available for other unit for the same car?

Well yes, it was stated it should display aircon info on that model of the car because it's an automatic dualzone AC, and graphics fort that are contained in the APK. I've peeked inside...

Apks are common for all supported brands and models.
Do you have proof for which your specific canbus is capable to decode the air conditioning?
Do you know any other mtcd user with the same unit and car like yours that is capable to adjust/view a/c settings on his unit?

You asked the seller? Ask him if you didn't yet and most of the times they have the solution, it must be something simple.
Seller has no idea, he sells those unit 'as is'.

Hi,
on my head unit it did show the air conditioning info on the ips disply, every time when I start the car, but for a few seconds only.. so yes, there is an option if the used combination car + headunit + canbus that allowed it, and my head unit also says; watchout for slippery if the outside temperature it is below the minus (-) etc.. what I think its more a canbus and its used programmed software! is the problems?
(((all in all my greetings to my old forum mate)))
Hello mate!
Yes, that's the problem, my car is not vw golf, it is seat leon. I have to find what are the canbus differences between those two.
Although, they should be the same (engine and parts - vw, seat, audi, skoda).

Hello mate,
ok, you can try the following; write on your canbus number and then try another canbus numbers for yours seat etc until you find the good one maybe.. just to try something out.. you never know.. right?
Good luck
(also ikerg is an old forum mate)
! :good: !
That's the plan ?
Are there some car model and air conditioning settings for your can bus decoder? I would try these settings first. Choosing another can bus decoder model won't work, especially when choosing another manufacturer. You might check if the model chosen in the advanced settings matches your can bus decoder. Usually that should be the case.
Finally you could check if there are other can bus decoders available that support your car and replace.
But normally the setup sold should work if seller is experienced.
Correct, as we already said = canbus -sw- problem!
Hi,
That is precisely the problem, because according to him the salesman (seller) writes that it worked, but after the purchase the guy (our forum mate) finds out that it does not work.
now there are 3 options:
1- send it back to the seller and demands your money back.
2- gets a better canbus from the seller as a credit.
3- self must buy a better canbus one.. which I would not do it myself because he is entitled to a working canbus according to the advertisements.
all in all it is the programmed canbus software is the problem, I know for sure because I had experienced it, when I wanted to buy my current head unit I must asked 3 sellers for the same headunit if he have this and that options as my car oem it does?, 2 of them says not and the third one (seller) say it would do (IP = automatic parking option) but I'm not 100% sure. and then I contacted a seller from spain he sells the same headunit and this spanish seller says yes but I (he) ask 100 € more (because of the tax) so I bought it from china/ese for only 300 + €uro.. here they asking 450 a 500 €uro for the same incl. a very cheap -5 €- rear cam!
anyway.. good luck mate.

Headphone jack output hissing

I just got my device and noticed that there's a constant hissing when I try to use any headphones with it. What I did was play some music through 3.5 mm headphones in a quiet environment, then turn the volume all the way down. Let me know if you hear hissing with your unit.
I thought it might be the equalizer, so I disabled com.asus.maxxaudio and com.asus.maxxaudio.audiowizard using ADB. Then I rebooted into safe mode. The problem was still there, so I don't think that's the problem.
Tested with v-moda M80 , no hissing here.

I'm using low impedance headphones if it helps. Tested two pairs that were 16 and 32 Ohms. Maybe it's not noticeable with high impedance headphones?
My V-moda have 32 Ohms

Seems like I will have to RMA my unit. What a shame.
Hello,
I am experiencing the same issue with my brand new Zenfone 6 (256gb variant)., quite annoying hissing noise in the earphones for 3 seconds every time I start a sound, and even every time I stop the sound for 3 seconds.
Did you return your unit?
Thank you.
