I asked this a while back and when I google I see it's a common thing so figured I should ask and see if anyone figured out how to fix how fb messenger doesn't save texts.

Ok, so this is driving me absolutely nuts right now...
I have my facebook synced to my contacts and many of my phone numbers I have gotten from my facebook sync. OK so Joe Schmoe shows up IN MY CONTACTS LIST, phone number is there, profile picture is there, everything is great until I go to send Joe a text. I go into my text messages, start typing his name in the top contacts bar and nothing shows up in the drop down menu. Now lets say i get a text or call from Joe, it will not show his name or picture here either, only his phone number.
So I guess I have two options:
Fix this bull**** show everything shows up how it is supposed to
or
Someone wanna give me a way to export all of my facebook contacts into something or merge them with my current list so it works?
A whole other can of worms is the fact that you cannot edit any facebook sync'd contacts in any sort of way and i think this is the root of my problem...
same i want to sync my contacts from facebook keep their info there but then i sign out and poof their gone and i can't keep it that way? -_-;;

I have a problem with FB contacts. I signed in to a regular fb(menu>settings>accounts&sync>) and i get all my people into the phone (contacts). But when i send a messages there don`t show the picture or name this person just number. Any idea why this is or how to fix ... Also, in the FB application don`t show my main picture on the wall or messages
Where can be a problem with the FB or my phone.

I have a patriotically weird bug that i want to share and see if anyone else can replicate it. I have not been able to reproduce the bug on other devices i have just the M8
I first noticed it when i copied a url from within reddit is fun

thats the link, if i directly share it to a hangout chat there is no issue, however if i copy the url then open hangout to share it once i click on the text field hangout crashes.
Now to see if it was the reddit app i texted that link, rebooted phone, copied the link from txt and the issue returns as soon as i open a hangout chat.
now i have copied and pasted many other links, some do cause hangout to crash some dont, its a VERY odd issue. the only way to get hangout working again is to reboot phone, (force stoping hangout or keyboard does not work)

I've actually had the same issue for a while now on Hangouts. Except, sometimes it will crash even if I'm just trying to reply without pasting a link. Uninstalling updates helps but then you end up with an ugly looking Hangouts app... Gotta do what you've gotta do I guess
Been through everything but cant find it. Is there a way to find out which one is causing the notice?
I used the Samsung Messenger for about two days, then moved to Android Messenger. 1st, the Samsung Messenger app was crashing when I was sending MMS messages. Not sure why. And 2nd, Samsung messenger does a weird thing when you want to share a file. So if I am in my gallery and want to share a photo, and I choose Android Messenger, I see a list of all the people I have been messaging, and just click their name. With Samsung Messenger, I need to start typing out the name of the contact. Not very user friendly.

I think I read it was something to do with Huawei but I forget. The text will stay until you exit out of fb messenger. What's interesting is when I use my phone app to locate a call and press the message button it then pulls up the entire text conversation in fb messenger so the messages seem to be there still in fb messenger. Has anyone figured out how to get fb messenger to display all the messages? I have fb messenger set as the default message app.
