We’re really excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Pie betas.
On first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. For those who are unfamiliar, Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhances the overall user experience.
The beta builds include adjustments and improvements on top of the stock Android CAF base. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features.
Important notice

This Paranoid Android port was done with "arter97 Pie Software Collection" in mind, and vice-versa. You need to have "arter97 Pie Software Collection" installed to use this Paranoid Android builds. Do not expect this to work properly if that wasn't done prior.

Well done arter!

Jesus! Who would have expected! Flashing onti once I get home oh yeah!!! Thanks after will drop u a donation again soon!

wow. I ve been using your rom since your work on galaxy s3. thanks.

Extremely slow download speeds for this build

I apologize if this is a sensitive issue and I know this is selfish as a freeloader, but can we have a faster mirror for download? It is taking way to much time for a single ROM download. :fingers-crossed:
EDIT: Nevermind, I found a workaround. I use a VPN and the download speed went from 150 kb/s to 5 MB/s.

Working great Arter! Had a little issue when I chose Pixel launcher as the default, but managed to get it switched to quickstep and it's working like a charm! Thanks!

Hey Arter! A question please, if someone wants to revert the changes we need only to flash another recovery (since your supports only f2fs) or need to do something else? I ask because I don't know if it changes any partition or what your vendor.

try to install Magisk and install "pixel_stuff.zip" with it: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78029447&postcount=483
it work for me, but quickstep launcher will crash after this...
i think you can also flash pixel stuff via twrp with this package: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/pie-pixel-stuff-t3846138
it seems that text selection on recent apps work with it ( but haven't try yet ...)
edit: i try with the twrp packages, doesn't work

I got this loaded up tonight for the first time.
when i originally set up the tablet i added an SD card via Carbon Rom and added it as device storage. of course i had to format data in twrp when loading this rom. at first when i loaded the rom it told me to format the SD card. the format failed saying it was corrupted. i tried again and it would just stop. now when i try to go to storage in settings the entire settings force closes.
any idea how i can still use this SD card? going to really suck if its gone because its a 256gb card.

Change recovery, wipe data back to /ext4 and you should be ready.

You're probably using exFAT, which is unsupported in PA(yet).
If you need to use it with your PC, format it as fat32.
If not, use ext4 or f2fs. (iirc both will work)

i formatted the disc to fat32 and have the same problem.
as i said before, i was using the card already on the past rom before switching to this and formatted it as device storage. i assume this must be what is causing problems?
i formatted to fat32 on my PC though and as soon as i hit storage, even after rebooting settings force closes. i then force stopped settings and cleared settings storage. same thing, force stop of settings as soon as i hit storage.
any idea what to try?
EDIT - also just formatted to ext4 with the same results

Hello
Tried Paranoid it works and fast
Nice work
Thanks

Installed this over the xiaomi.eu ROM I was using, and gotta say it's fantastic! Great work
A few thoughts:
* Adaptive brightness seems to be working a bit funny
* 4g data SIM seems to be working fine
* Touch response is way better than the stock/EU roms
* The pixel launcher with latest gapps seems to crash so I recommend using nano
* Is there any way to change the green accent on the UI? I'm not digging the green lol
* Picture in picture is working fine for apps that support it, but is there any way to get split screen apps working on this ROM?
* Any chance of face unlock being supported, or is that vendor functionality? The face unlock on the Xiaomi EU ROM was very sketchy

Here we go
Brilliant iptux. Am downloading currently and earger to try.
Couple of question
1. Can I switch to ART? Are there likely to be space issues?
2. Can I use light Gapps and try this or do I have to increase system size?
3. Is there a place where a noob like me can learn how to increase the partition easily? You mentioned fdisk but is there a process listed somewhere thats not too complex?
Thanks
Update: I tried installing with CWM but it gave me a installation aborted error. No further information. Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong
Easy way to modify partition sizes. You need to register and use google translator. But is a bit self-explanatory
http://foro.miui.es/index.php?topic=187.0
I'll test today to see if 500mb is enough, if not I'll build increased partition sizes script more than 500mb.

I've tried using the partitioning script from that link and I can confirm it works. This is what it looks like after installing the cm11 and the full gapps:

System partition increase
Hi ehrans
flashed the 500MB partition zip but nothing happened. Booted back to my CWM itself and the was no repartition
Any idea why that is happening?
Thanks
update: Got it done using the second script. ROM installed like a breeze. Installed KK Camera and Gallery app from Market. All is good so far except for a couple of random reboots. The battery sudden discharge issue continues to exist though. Am quite sure its a hardware issue now.
Need to use cwm included in the tutorial. Or any CWM with complete busybox support. MiRecovery is not suitable to do these tasks.

HI, iptux

Works like a charm
Thanks iptux,
Beta 1 since the last two days and not a single crash/restart has been needed. Brilliant job!
sold my mi-one plus for ~US$102 after using it for 1.75 years.
honestly, it is still rock and stable.
please keep it up for further development, thanks.
I have a burned out USB port, so it is for charging only.
What is the safest way of increasing the partition size without completely bricking the phone?
First, great thanks for the Xiaomi rom you provide, it's a great phone, even better with a good CyanogenMod. :good:
I would like to obtain more information about the partition upgrade procedure ? I nearly brick my phone yesterday when i tried to apply the new versions. I executed the 500mb patch script by adb successfully but when i have installed the zip file i got an error "Status 7" and half of my phone partitions disappeared .
I successfully re-partition my phone by pushing the recovery inside the boot part because i was enable to enter recovery and use fdisk by adb. My phone is now ok but on the old version.
Do you have a special way to do it ?
What you mean with "on the old version"?
Do it by hand like you did. Seems like an undetermined number of m1s young have a different start of 15th partition, and a different end of total flash amount like others m1s series. This makes the script fail at recreating partitions.
I should try to insert some "intelligence" into the script to avoid this. But since I have not an m1 of my own anymore I can't test if works.
Maybe someone with phone and scripting knowledge should make a better and intelligent script. This makes easier way to repartition phone cause just one script for all m1 variants.

By old version i simply mean the Cyanogen Mod 4.3.1, just a restore from my backup.
What's weird it the script appear to be successful to delete the old partitions and create the new ones, but the installation of the Cyanogen Mod 4.4.2 zip file broke them.
BETA 2 released, should be much more smooth than BETA1
the hardest part: re-partition, sign~

About LunuxOS
LunuxOS is my personal project with selective features over GZOSP (which is very close to AOSP on it's own). It will be updated once every week, probably on Sunday, with cumulative changes through the week. If necessary, I will surely release new update before due date.
LunuxOS was the name I gave to my first Custom ROM for Samsung Galaxy Y Duos Lite based on Samsung's Stock Firmware of Android 2.3.6. Since then I have always wanted to have my own take on Android but it never took off until now.
LunuxOS is not your just another AOSP based Custom ROM. I see it in between AOSP based ROMS and Stock ROM provided by OnePlus. It contains bundled applications for day to day tasks and can be used immediately after flashing it without the need to download basic applications.

Disclaimer
I am new to the Development scene. I have tested the ROM again and again before releasing. But it's not perfect. You must understand that I will not be held responsible if anything goes wrong with your device while you were trying to flash this ROM. I will try my best to help you in times like those but don't held a grudge against me. You must be familiar with Custom ROMs and the risks which come with them.
You can use the ROM as is without flashing Google Apps or any other application for basic necessities. All the bundled applications except the Pixel Launcher can be updated from Play Store.

F.A.Q.s
Q. 1. Does it supports Encrypted devices?
A. Yes, it supports Encryption. But still PLEASE do take a backup as this ROM is still in early stages and some unseen issue may cause it to break. So PLEASE at least take a backup beforehand.
Q. 2. Does it supports VoLTE?
A. Yes, VoLTE is supported but make sure you follow these steps carefully before reporting not working:
Update to latest Open Beta (24/15)/Stable ROM (4.5.x).
Complete your device setup and make sure that VoLTE is turned on and working.
Reboot to recovery and flash this ROM.
Now VoLTE will work.
[IF VOLTE STOPS WORKING AFTER REBOOT THEN SIMPLY GO TO SETTINGS > NETWORK & INTERNET > MOBILE NETWORK > DISABLE VOLTE AND RE-ENABLE IT.]
(If VoLTE was disabled on Stock/Open Beta ROM then it may not work on LunuxOS).
Q. 3. Why does the Charging don't show up?
A. It's a known bug in all Oreo based ROM for OP3/3T. Switch off your device. Power it on using the Power button. Plug in your charger when OnePlus logo shows up. Now the Charging indicator will show until next reboot. Follow this step every time when you reboot. Once rebooted you may unplug charger if not required to charge. [This fix was stated by a user in LineageOS 15.0 thread.]

I hope you like the ROM. Do test and report what you liked about it, what you disliked and if you find any obvious bug which needs immediate attention.
Thankyou for offering to test a completely new project.
Good. As this is based on gzosp, it should work on encrypted device also right?

Yes it should, but I have not been able to test that till now as I had few important files on my device and didn't wanted to lose them.
If you can please do test and report. Else I will test myself this weekend before the next release.

Its mt first time using Oreo so I'm getting the feel. I'm off work tomorrow so I'll run it through its paces and see how it goes.so far though its pretty fast and smooth.even with all my apps installing in the setup.

There are two launchers. In settings set Launcher 3/Pixel Launcher as default.
is this rom any customization option like rr rom or apos.?
Cant seem to find the option to swap capacitive buttons. It defaulted to left side recent apps and right side back.

I have some bugs to report. If fixable please fix-
1) Your internal system has some problem bug(bug already mention in OP)
2) Pie gestures are buggy and it says swipe on left or right which can be confused with miui gestures instead of op gestures.
3) If gestures are enabled, it doesnt automatically hide navbar. Navbar appears over the gestures after a while(cant see the back button on navbar after this reappearance)
4) Face unlock doesnt work(with c2api)so cant check auto face unlock feature
5)Fingerprint authentication vibration option should not be in navigation options. Also the option turns itself off when you go back to the settings page
6) Slide on navbar to control brightness doesnt work. It doesnt have any effect till halfway and after that the screen just dims itself even further
7) When clock is shifted to the right, it leaves a disturbing space between the first notification icon and the left end of the screen
8) Camera2Api works fine. miui cam crashes when c2api is enabled(mentioned already in OP)
9) No playstore downloading notification
Rest everything works well and ROM is smooth. I'll be looking forward to the upcoming updates.

Also, Facebook app doesn't load images after a while... This problem i found on ArrowOs, Aoscp, and CrDroid 5. Does anyone think what the cause may be?

I can't find the source of the problem. I switch to mcaosp that doesn't have it.
I usually switch back to a GSI rom lile Benzo or PE and they are all fine

I had a similar issue while restoring backup on WeChat with crDroid and Nitrogen (backup is done via WiFi and it suddenly stops and crashes after some seconds like if there was a signal cut), but ArrowOS is working fine for me.

Latest 11/20 build for Flo is here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261637182
Download folder is here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=295880
Recommended Clean Flash:
1. Go to Recovery "Wipe"
2. Factory Reset
3. Advanced Wipe
4. Wipe Everything Except Internal Storage
5. Swipe To Wipe
6. Flash & Install ROM
7. Flash Both Latest Open Gapps & Then Magisk v20.1
8. Reboot & Enjoy!
Known issues:
- NFC has been enabled but it may be unstable and i recommend you make sure it's always turned off to prevent excessive battery drain.
- Navigation bar glitches sometimes.
- If you Flash Magisk along with the ROM then when you reboot for the first time the device will show the google logo then the boot animation and then your device will immediately reboot. This is perfectly normal so this isn't a issue for now. Then your device will show the google logo and then it will show the boot animation and then it should usually boot normally into the ROM. However if it reboots again do not worry it is a known issue and then this 3rd time it will boot into the ROM. I can't find a fix for this but you will still be able to use the ROM with no issues. Happy Flashing

Compass and rotation work perfect for me i don't have any of the issues you mentioned. Seems to be a hardware issue. I have that same hardware issue on my second nexus 7 2013 but on the first one i have everything is working

Then it must not be a hardware issue then. Hmm that's wierd i have this issue on one of my nexus 7 2013 running liquid smooth but on my other nexus 7 2013 running havoc ROM compass works perfectly. I will look into this issue thanks for notifying me. Cheers
If you often use google maps i would recommend trying out other pie roms
I'm having trouble with, not just this rom, but others I've tried too. It installs fine - I follow the directions in the OP, and get no error messages, but then it gets stuck in a boot loop. It goes to the loading screen with the gear and water droplet and then back to the "Google" logo screen, then back and forth. I've tried wiping just what OP says to wipe, then wiping everything, and every combination I can think of. Any ideas?

Could you give me a link to magisk and gapps that work with this ROM? Also, i have to re flash twrp? If so could ypu give me a link. I just got my tablet out after 3 years. Im a little rusty. Thank you
Im one of those users who just revived my N7 flo with this ROM, however it took a bit of tinkering around, cause installation say flash ROM and then reboot recovery, flash open gapps and magisk, but I kept getting an error 7 message even though I had partitioned system.
This what I done: to get it to work...
1 Use partition script from other post
2 Advance wipe, all except internal storage
3 Reboot recovery
4 Install ROM
5 Install open gapps 9.0
6 Install magisk
7 Reboot.
I also tried your pixelExperience ROM but just couldn't get it to install was getting an error 7 and E1001 or something like that, I also used the script and had 1.1gb on system also using latest Twrp 3.3 just don't know why I couldn't it to work....Anyway this ROM is working and seems pretty good so far, thank you for your time and hard work and all Involved in this ROM.
Edit..after using for a few days this ROM random reboots from lack of memory when just doing simp!e tasks, like trying to share a news feed on twitter just hands and then reboots, also happens on FB and other social media, apart from using a different ROM is there a way I can improve this..better kernel maybe.

Those apps are not optimized for older devices like our nexus7 they will just slow it down since those apps use a ton of memory it lags the tablet . This will happen on every rom unfortunately including older roms like nougat and marshmallow even oreo
New build for Flo has been uploaded!!!!
Thanks to everyone for sending me such nice comments for me when i was dealing and working on my personal life and mental health issues.
I am happy and proud to say i am back developing and making ROMS for y'all and hopefully i will start updating several of my ROMS that need updating
This is probably the last LiquidRemix build i will making because it seems the Liquid dev team has moved on to android Q or have stopped development. This build has security patches from september 2019 so you will be up to date and safe and secure. Please read the known issues in the OP. Happy flashing!

It boots ok.. never thought i would see android 9 on this device.. the only thing i can see they wrong is there is a notification "DolbyAudioService" showing.
Installed, boots OK and is working just fine so far, too! Playing YouTube videos (in the web browser) at 1080p without problems. Great work, thanks a lot!!

This really gives new life to the Shield Tablet! Very, very cool work. Thanks again!
I installed the no Zram version of the ROM. I'm wondering if the Zram one makes a significant performance difference, given how little RAM the tablet has (1 GB); I thought that perhaps the storage performance gains are somewhat offset by the RAM used by the feature...
Hi, One bug i have found is if you search in settings it will crash each time.

Yep, can confirm this.
Can confirm the Settings search crash. com.android.phone is shown as the crashing app.
I have another "bug" (not sure what it actually means though).
On every reboot I'm greeted with the message from "Android System":
"There's an internal problem with your device. Contact your manufacturer for details."
As far as I can tell nothing is affected.

Hi
Have that too guess its a problem with the Build Fingerprint check will remove the check later from Framework
There are much more problems currently in this build NvcplHook still not working and shieldtech isnt found even with all patches from Steel01 LineageOs16 Widewine Crypto works but have problems too generate/locate Lvl1 Keys.
Maybe the nxt Build will fix most of the Problems when Steel01 finishes his Vendor/Device Tree cause im using most Parts from that
Greats Triodexe

Greats Triodexe
Hi! Sweet rom
I found some problems with it tho. Firstly I found out headphones doesn't seem to work and then when I tried to play a game(Brawl Stars) all sort of glitchy things appear randomly in the screen, it was pretty glitchy. It's a shame cause it looks so good, i will stick with aex 5.8 which works flawlessly but when all of these problems are solved i won't think about it twice and I will jump straight to this rom. Great work!! Thanks a ton :good:

Hi
Yes this Rom isnt really close to stable only a try what already works with Steel01 Sources
for everyday usage better take the 5.8 or any Nougat based Rom
Atm i try to Get AICP14.0 to work but no chance only got it one time boot after that always Bootloop.
Thought Aicp would be easier cause they use more stuff from Lineage Tree but im wrong
Greats Triodexe
Hi
Short Info New Rom Version is out
Still not 100% stable but so far most stuff works now like Netflix,Disney+ HD;Youtube HD and Nvidia Games
Found a fix that helps me to play Videos without corrupted screen.
Change the renderer in Developer Options from OpenGL Skia to OpenGL.
Greats Triodexe

Hi

Greats Triodexe
Tried this rom again! Saw it's much more improved than before but it's not stable for every day use just yet, as you said, not 100% stable but looking good! Great work, i'll just use AEX 5.8 which works great .
Last but not least, headphones still don't work on AEX 6.7 but well it's an experimental rom so I suppose that will be fixed sometime in the future, it's not that important. Well good luck! Keep up the good work! :good:
Youtube, airtel xtreme playback bug
Playing youtube videos doesn't work I can only hear audio, sometimes glitches sometimes plain green screen
I am attaching screenshot for your reference.

I had problems too with this version. It wouldn't boot and boot back into recovery.
I went back to the previous aosp
Ive tried to follow the Magisk instructions to install Netflix to the letter, but am still unable to download it from the play store? Is this usual?
Also, even with my fastest chargers i get 'Charging slowly', but flashing the BTD file causes the device to not boot at all!
Thanks, though, everything else is great, and glad to see this device getting love!
