SDCard Mounting Errors with microsd inserted.

Hi, hoping for some help. I am running PAC-rom (latest nightly) and am encountering the following situation.
My phone and internal memory (sdcard0) works fine without a microsd plugged in.
As soon as I plug in any Microsd (tried a 32gb and 4gb and 8gb) the phone loads the contents of the microsd (external and sdcard1 I believe), but then sdcard0 does not get mounted.
Seems it only wants to run one or the other. I have tried searching and came across ideas of formatting etc, but nothing seems to get them to work together. Has anyone else encountered this? Any ideas?
Let me know if any additional information is required to troubleshoot.
Thanks!
Sounds like a software fluke ... Try falling back to the latest stock ROM ucmc1 via Odin and perform cleanup ... Wipe and factory reset. Then do a clean install if your favorite custom ROM following their installation directions from their xda page.

I'm also having the same issue. Have took it it re-inserted, wiped it, nothing fixes it. I'm running CM10 with twrp

I haven't gone to stock but have the issue on the latest CM as well as PACman.
I guess a better question would be whether anyone running these roms DOES NOT have the issue?

[Q] external memory card problem

My ext. Card (32gb sandisk ultra micro SD) constantly corrupts random files. I don't think it is the card because this is the third card I've used with the same results. I can however use the card on my laptop and it works perfectly fine via the card adapter. If I put music or movies on the card from the laptop and try to use it on my phone the file won't work or works for a few seconds then stops. Also, when I save to my phones internal memory it works fine. Has anyone else had issue? I've tried factory resets and custom ROMs but its always the same result. ANY input would be greatly appreciated.
Don't install custom ROMs on top of each other.

Tried it and it didnt help. I tried putting some files on my phones ext sdcard via usb cable from my laptop but it freezes in mid transfer. Also when I tried to make a Backup with CWM it wouldnt complete. So i wiped/formatted and fresh installed stock rom again and installed TWRP with the same results. I think its time to just give up. Also when I try and install SUPER USER it gets stuck in a boot loop. Frustrating.
ideas anyone
Okay I was able to flash cm10.1.2 and super user with twrp. Its crazy I can transfer media to the internal storage just fine but not to the SD card. I've factory reset with twrp and reinstalled stock and nothing seems to fix this.

I'm so glad someone has posted this issue, I can confirm it does exist on stock Rogers RUXUMA ROM with an external Sandisk 64GB class 10 card.
The problem especially occurs when downloading compressed files from the internet. They appear fine but when you try to extract them, they have CRC failures. Sometimes they are fine until you reboot the phone.
I have been trying to troubleshoot this issue for months, its a problem with MTP or exFat on this particular phone. I've tried both CWM and TWRP, no success. The old Gingerbread ROM which didn't have MTP or exFAT support works fine, I've gone back and tried dozens of times.
I'm just surprised nobody else has reported this.

Flashing rom fail

When I try to flash a new rom I get an error (fail) or sometimes recovery freeze and reboot.
I don't understand why this happen, sometimes I can't flash any rom, other times I can flash some roms like cm10.1 and other roms fail.
Now I flashed pac-man rom and I can't flash any other rom, so I restored backup of cm10.1 but I can't flash any rom for now.
I'm using TWRP 2.6, but I got similar problems also with CWM.
I don't know why flash roms with my photon Q seems so difficult, with desire z and g1 I never had similar problems.
Anyone has got similar problems?
I never had any problems, and I flashed my Q a lot with TWRP... Are you using internal or external SD? If external, do you have any issues with the card? Is it old, bad sectors, etc?

My SD is a samsnug 32gb class 10, no problem with sd card. I'll try to use internal SD card for flash roms
Now it works, with flashable zip on internal memory :silly:

Try another brand of sdcard like sandisk, see what happens ... Sometimes no file corruption doesn't mean your sdcard is in good status.

Local backup it was located in internal storage, copied the whole folder to external SD card. Full wipe your phone and reflashed the same ROM. After booting up, copied your backup from external SD card into miui folder in internal storage, restored back all your program and data. Sometime it maybe due to some installed app cause the problem.
I was on 8.12.13 global Dev ROM, no such problem.

MTK 6582 Iphone8 Clone | How can I port twrp recovery ??

Hi! So I have that Iphone 8 clone .. running on android 4.2.2 and I've been trying to install twrp.. yet I can't find any good twrp for this.. also I tried porting but I somehow can't manage to get it working .. tbh I don't really get it, It's like, the twrp size is too big or something in comparison to stock one.. as far I can only install cwm.. but I can't really use it xd.. cause this clone has no sd card slot.. oof..
so what I am asking for is, Can someone help me port / find good recovery for it ? or at least explain what should I do.. etc.. ?? ^^' .. I'd be grateful.

You don't have to have an SD card slot to use CWM. If you can get CWM installed, use it, it can flash files from your internal storage, it doesn't require an external SD card.

Apparently I can't seem to find any other option than " flash from SD card"

That is what CWM labels the internal storage, if you had an external sdcard in, it would be called sdcard1 and would show an option to flash from sdcard1.
It gets confusing sometimes but not all android software labels internal and extetnal sdcards the same. Some label internal memory as "sdcard", some label external memory as "sdcard".

Weird..

No, not weird. It would say that because it can't mount your internal storage. And that would mean that it isn't working correctly and would not allow flashing from internal even if you had stuff stored on it that could be flashed.
See, you aren't understanding that the term "sdcard" does not always refer to an external sd card. Android devives use solid state storage, the internal storage on android IS a sdcard, it's just a permanent one instead of a removeable one.

Keep trying to port TWRP. Have you tried the tool that automates the process to port TWRP for MTK devices? Or have you been manually trying to port TWRP?

Somhow.. That tool gives me an error that, I don't remember exactly ( I'm away from home atm) that twrp is too big in comparison to my stock recovery and I can't simply use that tool -_- and yes, I also tried manually

I'm not real familiar with the process because I'm not an MTK user, but that can be fixed by changing a few parameters during the build/port process.
It involves adjusting the size of your recovery partition to fit the size of the file.
Similar to what is discussed in the thread linked below, it might not explain it well but it gives you the idea of the issue and how to fix it, you might need to look for other threads that discuss the solution in order to get it working for you. I'm just trying to get you pointed in the right direction, whether I can find your specific answer or not.
