I'm looking for a good reliable screen mirroring app for the Nexus 5 running Android 5.0 Lollipop to get the Android screen on my pc.
i've used BBQScreen, but that doesn't work anymore since 5.0
Mobizen, Allcast, Screen Stream Mirroring, those apps don't work at all.
Preferably one that has a Windows client.
And i need WiFi.
Hi,
I cannot get my device to 'discover' a microsoft miracast adaptor I have plugged in my tv. This device supports wi-fi direct, so it should theoretically work!
What I did :
I decided to upgrade my system as it was starting to lag badly, after 2 years of use.. I wanted to upgrade to kitkat at lesat, so I could stream movies to a tv. That feature was quite attractive to me.
I acquired CM11 unofficial from this post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2637079
full tablet wipe, (Forgot to backup SMS, argh) and it installed CM11 with kitkat 4.4.4 just fine. No problems that I can see, installed slim Gapps package - just for the play store, nothing else. Gonna install Gmail later.
Then I bought a chromecast, it was quite fiddly - It wouldnt find it on cast screen either, I discovered I needed it to run through a wifi network with a permanent internet connection. After this, it showed up on cast screen. Also, the streaming quality was complete crap - so I returned it and got a microsoft miracast adaptor - which apparently has better quality and doesn't need a wifi router!
I can't figure out how to get it to show up. The cast screen tab cannot find any devices. The adaptor sits in the tv, and it shows '"ready to connect" on there.
Since the tab for cast screen exists on my tablet, the functionality is there, and waiting to be used?
Any help please?
Do I need to do something like this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/har...experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193 ?
So, no one has provided any tips yet... I'm going to go return this miracast adaptor before I can't get a refund for it.
But before I do, is there another forum category, or another place on the internet where I may be suggested to try for some troubleshooting advice?
This doesn't make sense to me - as the functionality WORKS, it is supported by the hardware, and the chromecast adaptor actually showed up before
New and need help please. I have not been able to get the screen casting o mirroring to work with my NVIDEA Shield Tablet WI-FI. I had Android 5.1.1. and now have 6.0 and no change. I am able to pair the two Android devices and both say connected but when I press Cast it has never indicated any available devices. Is it not able to Cast to another Android device? I am trying to screen cast to the Epson Movario BT-200 glasses which has Android 4.0.1 but also Miracast. My Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.4 inch is able to screen mirror to the Epson glasses but it gets a bit laggy. So I thought the NVIDEA Shield tablet would have more power but I am not able to get the Tablet to recognize the glasses in Screen Cast even though it does recognize and even connect to the glasses over WIFI. Have tried 2.4 GHz, 5GHz, and Auto band modes. Unfortunatly there is no Android update for Epson BT-200 glasses and likely never will be. I have rooted all devices and have tried about 7 different screen mirroring apps. (Epson Glasses do not allow Google Play store without rooting and some apps won't load).
Any advice welcome. I don't mind spending the time trying. I am not really smart but I was able to get my Shield tablet out of a boot loop by flashing new .img over USB from my PC through DOS command prompts, so I can usually figure it out with time.
Miracast hasn't worked on my original shield tablet since 5.0 update. I had used a Belkin to miracast, it's firmware is current and works with W8 and W10, and several older Android devices...I think it really only casts to Google cast devices now!

Hi,
I have tried alot and always failed Is there anyone who tried mirroring Xperia XZ to Samsung smart TV series 5?
if yes, can you help me in that?
Thanks,
In phone U have a miracast and TV also have screen mirroring option turn it on and connect a phone to TV that's all.
I have Samsung 6 series TV, Just turn on the screen mirroring option on your phone, on your tv just make sure that you select the allow option. You are done
Thanks for replies...
The problem is I cant see my TV from the phone. I use wifi direct and I get connected.
Then I open screen mirroring, but cant find the TV. I go to the source list in the TV and cant see the screen mirroring. I go to all share menu in the TV and cant find my phone. I even tried to connect to my TV wireless from my wifi list and nothing works as well.
Can you share the exact steps?
Thanks,
so any detailed instructions?
Are you running stock nougat? after the nougat update Google broke miracast, you can fix it with this guide I wrote up awhile back https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz/how-to/guide-fix-miracast-screen-mirroring-t3583743

Thanks alot for your reply... but do you think there is any solution for non-rooted device?
I recently bought a non-branded Android M Phone with a STOCK Marshmallow. I can't find an option to cast or mirror screen to TV, although I've used my Android L5.1 to mirror the screen to my Samsung Series 5 Smart TV for a while. My questions are, do all android M phones miss the screen mirroring feature? Or just my phone's developer didn't build screen mirroring in the stock ROM? Can I somehow cast my screen to my Samsung Smart TV by another app or something?

It's not a "standard" feature for all marshmallow devices.
Try some of these apps. If your hardware doesn't support mirroring then you won't be able to do it no matter what you do.

Screen Mirroring
I did use the first app that you provided in the link. It seems to work but my TV says unable to connect. (And my phone supports Screen Mirroring too). I think it's a problem of settings. How would i configure in for connecting it to my TV?
