I havent used my oneplus in like 6months(wating for my local repair shop to get screen replacemnt + new battery *sbarelly used as he claim)
Last i usedit i was runing aosp 7.1 bassed rom
Sot was 3....3½ hours (moderet usage (office wifi ---sync enable for emails---- very light gaming 2d ---playing music with wiredhead phone localstorage)
I barelly get 2h on 4g
.
I ll be getting my oneplus next week....how is battery on pie bassed romand any recomendation? ....i rather have better sot.
I think by far the best SoT you can get is on denser's builds of Sultan's LOS14.1
AOSIP pie(doze working really well), Tugapower Pie and maybe...POSP pie?

The same for me, I usually get two more hours of SOT with Sultan's LOS14.1 than any Oreo/Pie ROM.

i too was on sultan/denser's LOS 14.1. i agree with you guys that SOT is good but the wifi bug was affecting me too much and pie was getting better and jumped over to aosip pie which had similar SOT to LOS 14.1, and now with tuga's pie, I get the same SOT and no wifi bug like in LOS 14.1. :good:

Good to know that Pie ROMs are getting better. Though I don't know of which WiFi bug you're talking of. On the contrary, on 8+ ROMs I encounter the bug which does not allow me to connect to hidden WiFi SSIDs.

on los 14.1, my opo switches off wifi when the phone goes to sleep/when screen is off. then when you wake it up from sleep, it reconnects to the wifi again.

I already got used to Nougat 7.1 when I installed the RR RR (Resurrection Remix) a few weeks ago but I noticed a big negative change as regards the battery life since it is consumed too fast and now it is difficult for me to leave the house and I last. What is the best ROM 7.1 for the Oneplus One in terms of battery life?
I add that I only have 60 apps installed, I use Greenify and I have the automatic brightness turned off and I have 30% brightness.
Thank U!:fingers-crossed:
Use boeffla kernel or private kernel on RR you'll get better battery life
Sent from my OnePlus One using XDA Labs
I've had used few Nougat ROMs past 2 weeks and finally settled with CM 14.1 nightlies. I am getting 4-5hrs SOT with moderate usage and 30-40mins gaming (Asphalt Xtreme, Steppy Pants), 15-20mins youtube.

I was wondering whether its worth upgrading to nougat . I've already tried using a few of them but reverted due to bugs .
List of roms I've tired
Lineage os (Reverted due to system crash during high performance, Internet connectivity loss , )
Resurrection remix (I was getting only 1hr 30 min of SOT)
Cosmic os (its very new and I found it too buggy )
I've tried clean flashing too but nothing seems to work . I really like the new features but I do not like to sacrifice battery life ,performance.
Should I just stick to Sultan cm 13 or are you guys optimizing your phones in some better way ,please do mention them .Thankyou

Well, for me there is no problem with Nougat.I don't care about xposed,so no issue for me.
Even though a custom kernel can help you with all those issues,I would highly recommend try this,

Currently I'm getting good results with Nitrogen os ,using lightning kernel .Its giving me 5 and about a half hour of SOT will wait more to see how it goes
I was thinking about flashing tuga power but I've been using this guys review as a base before flashing my ROM ,and I felt it was a bit light on features

Yeah, that's because it gives preference to battery life, performance and daily usage more than features. But it has all needed features like magisk+safetynet pass+Viper4Arise and much much more.
Not to mention,it is the most popular rom for OPO.
Give a try yourself rather than just watching lame reviews.
I've used Nitrogen os too,it is nothing but great .
I tried almost all nougat roms, unfortunately, with all the roms I faced duplicate contact issue (whatsapp and google contacts are shown separately in contacts ) and I could not find any solution. Sultan's cm13 is the best ROM for me till now for my usage.
I'm on RR and my SOT is 4+ hours.
I was about to ask the same question. I'm on Sultan's CM13 ROM for a long time now and I was wondering if it is any good going through the hassle of backing up stuff just to get to the newest android version.
I was thinking about SlimRom 7 or idprophecy's LineageOS14.1.

I've tried mostly all 7+ ROMs ,theyr still not up to the mark .Lineage is a good all rounder ,
Resurrection has lots of customizable options but battery life isn't up to the mark (I tried twice was getting about 1hr 30 min sot on 90% charge )
Nitrogen works quite well ,and I found it to work the best for me ,but the frequency of updates is a bit low .You can customise it good enough .
I found cosmic os to be the prettiest of them all but it has a few bugs and the frequency of updates is a bit low
Tuga power also seems to be a good pick
U need to also consider sacrificing your xposed modules if you want the taste of nougat
I suggest you hold of for a month or two and then consider updating
I would like to upgrade my Nexus to the new android Oreo - 8.0+ but im using it as my daily driver so i want to get a good stable rom with everything working, what rom would you guys recommend ?
Good question. These roms are really hard to evaluate unless each of is willing to spend the time to download, flash, and test every rom. Even then, we need non-subjective tests to be certain.
Go for Lineage OS 15. It can be used as a daily driver because I've been using it myself for about a week now and i didn't find any lag and u wont be disappointed either
To add further i got 55019 on Antutu Benchmark and on Geek Bench 4 i got Single Core : 1046 , Multi-Core : 2606
I get about 2 and half hours of On screen time with 12-14 hours of usage .
I'm using LineageOS 15 Unofficial by tdukazudon (OpenGAPPs Nano and Magisk 14.5), initially it was very slow and laggy, it settle down now, working good, it's not as smooth as some custom Nougat builds. Anyone on AOSiP or any other Oreo ROM who also tried this LineageOS, please share your opinion, how you compare both ROMs?

Apart from Lineage OS 15 i have used Validus OS and Xperience Roms Both Oreo.
Comparing them i can say that Lineage OS 15 is the best then In terms of perfomance and has good battery life
Validus OS is good in terms of performance but to me the battery life was not so good cox i was able to get only 2 hours of on screen time that too with very light usage. Xperience rom was somewhat laggy to me but had best battery life among the three. I got 3 hours 5 mins of SOT with battery down from 100% to 1%.
Validus OS is the ROM that the most customization options at this time . Can't say much about the AICP ROM though.
To me Lineage OS 15 is the best because obviously its a Lineage OS ROM and no other can beat its performance and secondly because it doesn't compromise much at battery for performance . 2 and half hours SOT with the best performance u can get on the latest version of android. I think that's totally acceptable.

Yesterday I flashed AOSiP 20171203 build, GAPPs Nano and Magisk 14.5, replaced launcher with latest Pixel Launcher, feels like its smoother than LineageOS, pretty stable too, not a single reboot or hang, don't care much about battery and SOT so don't know how good is it at that.
AOSiP 20171203
AOSiP 20171203 is very nice in terms of stability. However, the bluetooth bug currently exists in all Android Oreo ROMs including this one.
The bug that I'm talking about is basically where if you are on a call over bluetooth headsets, there will be a lot of noise in the background and you and the other person will hardly be able to hear each other.

Yeah i've been running AOSiP for a few days and it seems pretty nice.
Hi. I'm quite new in the custom ROMs' space, but custom ROMs are one of the reasons I've bought the Mi A1. One thing that does matter very much to me is battery life, and therefore I'm always looking for the best combination of performance and battery life. That's why I decided to "test" any stable ROM that appears in this forum, to classify them from the best for battery life to the one with the worst battery drain.
TESTING CONDITIONS
Follow these testing conditions to share your results with us and give us a better rapresentation of average battery life. I'm still defining testing conditions, but that's what I've came up with:
TEST 0 (legacy): WHOLE DAY WITH TOO MUCH MEDIA
Screen on auto brightness, 35/45% all day long
No double tap to wake or always-on display
Always testing from full 100% charge to 15% charge
Test always starts from around 6.00/7.00 AM and finishes when at 15% battery left
Wi-Fi and 4G always on. Connected on 4G from 8.00 AM to 1.30 PM, Wi-Fi for the time left
GPS and Bluetooth always off
No overclock/underclock/power savings
Google Apps mini package installed
Chrome use in the morning, at launch and at dinner, while YouTube gets me the rest of screen on time in the afternoon
TEST 1: GAMING
20 minutes of Need for Speed No Limits,20 minutes of PUBG Mobile
Screen on manual 50% brigthness
No double tap to wake or always-on display
Always testing with battery between 90% and 20%
Wi-Fi and 4G always on; connected to wi-fi
GPS and Bluetooth off
No overclock/underclock/power savings
Google Apps mini package installed
TEST 2: STAND BY 1
3h of stanby
No double tap to wake or always-on display
Always testing with battery between 90% and 20%
Wi-Fi and 4G always on; connected to wi-fi
GPS and Bluetooth on, no device connected
No overclock/underclock/power savings
Google Apps mini package installed
TEST 3: MEDIA
2h of YouTube
Screen on outo 40% brigthness
No double tap to wake or always-on display
Always testing with battery between 90% and 20%
Wi-Fi and 4G always on; connected to wi-fi
GPS off, Bluetooth on (no device connected)
No overclock/underclock/power savings
Google Apps mini package installed
TEST 0 LEGACY RESULTS
Stock Android One 8.0 + MiNT kernel
Stock Android One 8.0
Resurrection Remix (12/15/218 build) + MiNT kernel
Resurrection Remix (12/15/218 build) + Moun kernel
NitrogenOS (02/05/2018 build) + Moun kernel
Android Open Source Illusion Project (AOSiP) (09/05/2018 build) + Moun kernel
NitrogenOS (02/05/2018 build) + MiNT kernel
dotOS (06/05/2018 build) + MiNT kernel
dotOS (06/05/2018 build) + FrancoKernel r7
dotOS (06/05/2018 build) + MetaPhoenix kernel
dotOS (06/05/2018 build)
CosmicOS (01/05/2018 build) + FrancoKernel r7
CosmicOS (01/05/2018 build)
MY RECOMMENDATIONS:
Resurrection Remix the best of the bunch. Use new builds as the older ones MAY give corrupted persist partition (new ones are totally fine);
Mod edit:- above-mentioned issue was only with one old build of RR, and its been already fixed.
AOSiP the next good one. Has less feature than RR but it's worth it;
NitrogenOS has slightly better battery life than AOSiP and RR, but with fewer customizations;
ROM request closed for now. Schedule may vary based on time available to me: remember that this phone is my daily driver and that I'm alone in testing and publishing data.
The need for more tests and the need to revise the first test may also bring the need to change schedule AND retest some ROMs
P.S.: I'm probably gonna update the topic with just ROMs with their own kernels (no other kernels installed) and then a separate list of kernels. The only thing is that same kernel gives different battery life deltas on different ROMs, so it would be best to try different ROMs with the best kernels for battery life (like top 3 of the kernel list)
plese keep with the work i really want to know off all withc are the best, im not going to flash your recomendations for dayily use

Of course. Any suggestion is welcomed. Lineage wasn't on top of my mind as it's not particularly famous for his great battery life as there are better ROMs. But as many people ask for it I'll give it a shot.
Anyway I'm on Resurrection Remix now. We'll see how it goes.

Perhaps MAC changed when you flashed the kernel. I flashed LOS yesterday, MAC ok, but deepsleep issues. So I tried flashing a new kernel (moun) and then MAC gone.
Great work man! Battery life is one of the most "interesting" keypoints on custom ROMs. This should help ppl pick the right ROM first-try.
BTW, I haven't seen LOS on the list, any particular reason?

Just forgot to add Lineage, but was already in consideration. Anyway in my testing I've seen better battery life on stock ROM with custom kernels than any other one. Maybe there are some optimization in the source code to do

- Same WI-Fi and 4g but with GPS and Bluetooth always-on (paired to a smartwatch e.g.)
- no oc/uc/ps
-no youtube usage at all + most common videogames (RealRacing/Clash of Clans/Candy Crush etc.) + Facebook (not the lite version)

Thanks for the great suggestion. I need to better define WHAT games to test and HOW LONG to test them (like Real Racing 15 minutes, NFS 30 minutes...).
For the smartwatch thing, I'd like to test it but I have no smartwatch and can't afford it as for now.

I'd say not to use time as a reference but percentage (e.g. from 60 to 50 percent Real Racing etc. measuring how much does the percentage span lasts too)
Hi all.
I'm on LinageOS 7.1.2 and my phone is very very slow. It degraded with time.
Looking to refresh it with Android 9.
Anything that is recommended and stable? something without issues?
No. I tested all 9.0 roms, all of them have wifi problems, wifi speed dramatically reduced, max 5 Mbps and lot of packet drop.
Btw, if somebody says disable bartery manager and it helps, this is a lie. All roms uses the same libs as a base, so 100% of them are affected. Some people keep saying wifi is fine though, you may try and see if you are lucky or not. Since nobody cares, I personally don't waste a time for testing another and another crap, Oreo is latest usable version currently. Good enough for so old phone.
My recommendation is Lineage 15.1, no bugs are there.
