Hi all,
I try to explain all and I try to be brief:
- Asus Padfone 2 with lastest stock rom and update
- Rooted with Towelroot apk
- Have a TWRP recovery that haven't any backup mode, so I want to install a CWM recovery to do a backup of my phone in case I need to format it
- tried with flashing from the recovery: I had signature error.
- tried to flash the lastest TWRP recovery for the Padfone 2: disaster
Now I'm stuck at boot, with Asus Logo and Invalid Kernel message. Can't boot recovery or the stock rom.
I can't flash the recovery with fastboot flash or adb sideload, I have a signature error.
Cannot even flash an unlocked boot.img, same problem. If I try to use "fastboot boot boot.img" it works, but after 30 seconds it automatically reboot before Windows (7, 64bit) install the MTP USB drivers.
I can't do anything, I recently resurrect the Padfone and the tablet and I already killed it.
Help please

Hi, yes I do, but honestly I don't remember.
I saved all the necessary so I think I should recall the procedure if I open that RAR file.
Now I have a BlackView BV7000Pro destroyed, worst than the Padfone (but still it turns on, it reboot immediately after the logo).
I'm a killer

Ok I didn't save anything. I remember something like flashing the original bootloader and recovery of the Padfone or something like that, using adb and fastboot.
Then I flashed a custom recovery and then the ROM.
I remember that it was more easy once done than reading the procedure. I deep searched on Google many different phrases about it.
Sorry I can't help anymore, I couldn't find anything (notes, files, etc).
Im trying to install TWRP without sucess.. but why?
using: fastboot oem device-info
the device status is:
bootloader tampered: false
bootloader unlocked: true
bootloader authorized: false
i did through fastboot mode:
fastboot erase cash
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase userdata
and then:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.1.0-A68.img
that looks like right install, but at end, do not work. Always back to screen recovery options to select, recovery or exit to the system. But, when choosing recovery, the device just turn off .
At the first time i'd had install custom recovery CWM and use Tari's rom. That's nice but, have some problems with consuming battery and instability.
I want to install new rom's
---------- Post added at 12:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:15 PM ----------
Rom Android Oreo for Asus Padfone 2
i'd found out in that website install new rom's like as Oreo.
But I'm in difficult to install TWRP here.
https://android8root.pro/como-fazer-root-asus-padfone-2/
Rom's for:
5.0 Lollipop
6.0 Marshmallow
7,0 – 7.1 Nougat
8.0 Oreo
Android P
CWM does not work because do not accept to flash the file of system over 1Gb
The Padfone is really one of the most useful mobiles phones i have pleaser to own. But unfortunately, old rom's are a source of difficulties to work with app's of today.
Hey yall,
so I finally managed to successfully brick my honor
Everything was pretty much fine, I was messing with trying different ROMs. Then I used the "Change location" option in HWOTA8 (it probably flashed some extra files) and my systems "erecovery" or something likely essential "dissappeared".
Fastboot works, I tried flashing 'system' and recovery images with no success. It won't accept TWRP or any other image as I get "partition size get error"
When I try to boot into recovery or system, I get the error
Error Mode message: Func no 11 [recovery image], Error NO 2 [load failed]
I tried dload methods with (B132, B340 and some other versions, I get the Error Mode anyway)
What I think is the core of the problem could be one of following:
boot.img,
erecovery
frp
I get a boot loop no matter what I do.
The phone model is BLN-L22 indian (debranded from BLN-L21) and the last flashed ROM was Oreo
The FRP and Bootloader are unlocked.
I think it could work if I'd flash every partition, but it doesn't seem to work with images I got from "update.app"
Could you recommend me some repair/flashing tools/flashing files?
Any help in the investigation is greatly appreciated
Update: Just bought DC Phoneix
Now I managed able to boot into the "update via usb" screen. (with the help of DC Phoneix)
I can access adb, altho I cannot use adb shell, because it cannot access /bin/sh
Does having access to adb give me any advantage?
Solved using this <3. Now I'm at android 4

Hello all,
I bought a refurbished LG G5 (H850) from Aliexpress in order to move it to LineageOS. It has a stock LG Android 8.0.0 (V30f-EUR-XX). I unlocked the bootloader with the file unlock.bin that LG sent me and I can read in fastboot unlocked:yes.
The problem is that I cannot reboot in Recovery mode. I tried :
- when booting in the original LG Recovery: message "No command" with the resting Android robot icon
- I flashed lineage-17.1-20210110-recovery-h850.img successfully and when booting in this recovery I get only two options : Erase data or exit. Erasing data doesn't change anything: after reboot in recovery I have the same options.
- I flashed the twrp-3.5.0_9-0-h850.img recovery, it says OKAY for sending and writing it. If using a command to boot in recovery fastboot boot xxx.img it fails. And adb reboot recovery puts me in the "No command" with the resting Android robot icon
- I reflashed the same lineage recovery and adb reboot recovery puts me in the "No command" with the resting Android robot icon
- I feel that fastboot flash says OKAY but it keeps the original recovery
Has someone experienced this problem with the LG recovery boot? Does this problem come from a special security in the bootloader preventing changing the recovery?
Finally, I found a solution. The problem was that the stock ROM put in my phone was reverting systematically the recovery to its original one. The error was to reboot the system once I flashed the TWRP or the Lineage OS recovery.
What I did to install Lineage OS was to flash the recovery, disconnect the USB cable and remove the battery. Then boot directly into recovery. I backed up the current OS and installed lineage-17.1-20210110-nightly-h850-signed.zip. After reboot it works perfectly well.
Hello everyone, i have an honor 8 frd-l09c432(europe)
so i flashed a wrong kernel in twrp and fastboot
and now the phone can't boot
i can get into fastboot and flash stuff
erecovery works in factory resetting and cache partition cleaning
my bootloader is unlocked
my phone is frp unlocked
when i flash twrp in fastboot and reboot to recovery, it doesn't boot twrp but the stock recovery ( idk why )
so anyone can help ?
and when i put my phone in charge when its off
a message appears to update again
no : 10 ( boot image
no : 2 ( load failed )
which im guessing its because of the wrong kernel flash
so what should i flash in fastboot to unbrick my phone ?
i have update.app extracted and etc ... ( please please if anyone can help )
OPTION 1: MAYBE MIGHT BE WHY FLASHING MIGHT NOT BE WORKING
Make sure that you are not trying to flash the recovery.img on the error fastboot look alike screen, because I dont think you can flash files when on that screen error screen. Try to boot into fastboot without the errors on the screen.
OPTION 2: FLASH STOCK KERNEL IMAGE
You can flash kernel images using adb:
"fastboot flash kernel [KERNEL.IMG]"
Make sure that you are not trying to flash the recovery.img on the error fastboot look alike screen, because I dont think you can flash files when on that screen error screen.
OPTION 3: IF YOU WANT TO BOOT INTO TWRP WITHOUT FLASHING
1. Connect device to computer and boot into fastboot, make sure that you are not on the error fastboot look alike screen because I dont think you can flash files when on that screen error screen.
2. On adb, do "fastboot boot [Recovery File]"
3. It should boot into the recovery file you put in there
OPTION 4:: RESET DEVICE FROM ERECOVERY FROM "recovery2"
If those did not work, restart you device and when it says "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted", quickly hold volume up until you have booted into a stock recovery look alike "recovery2", which has an extra button. If you do not have the button, you need to hold the volume up button faster on the "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" screen. When on the stock recovery look alike screen,, click the option that says something about download latest firmware. Select your wifi and it should download stock oreo and fix device, but though, it will factory reset device.
The Honor 8 has 2 recoveries called maybe "recovery" where you usually flash twrp and "recovery2" when you hold the volume button up on "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted"
The bootloader should relock after this
if you manage to boot into twrp and reflash back to the kernel then you dont have to do this.

Hi, Thanks for the fully informative reply
I got my phone unbricked a week after this thread but somehow i completely forgot to close the thread
so, sorry about my mistake, I'm new to xda
have a nice day

Lenovo Tab P11 (2021г.) - Обсуждение, Планшет, 11"

Basically
1. Enable OEM Unlock in Developers Settings
2. (Your host PC should have LMSA installed) Open command window, and go to where ADB is
3. Turn your tablet off. Press and hold volume down and power buttons to enter bootloader
4. Enter the following in command window
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
. Answer yes to unlock bootloader
warning: your tablet is wiped during the process!!![/B]
5. Reboot
To root, patch boot with Magisk
You can use LMSA to download matching ROM, and use rescue to update ROM if necessary. You can get needed boot at c:/program data/LMSA/download/romfiles/
Copy boot.img to your phone and use Magisk to patch, and copy patched_boot.img back to host computer.
Turn your tablet off and enter bootloader
Switch to fastbootd
Code:
fastboot reboot fastboot
Flash the patched boot
Code:
fastboot flash boot
Press spacebar once and drag and drop the patched boot onto command window, and press enter
Reboot
does this work with Lenovo Pad Pro 2021 (SD870) ?
Thanks for the guide, I've successfully unlocked the bootloader and rooted with Magisk.
I also installed the unofficial TWRP from here: https://unofficialtwrp.com/twrp-3-4-2-root-lenovo-tb-j606f/
However I didn't flash the provided vbmeta.img and everything still seems to be working fine, including booting into TWRP.
Anyone know if not flashing it may cause issues to appear?
The reason I didn't flash it is because someone else on another thread here said they got stuck in a boot loop after flashing it and that after restoring they decided not to flash it and everything worked fine, which seems to be my experience too, but maybe there are implications I'm not aware of with not flashing it.
I had this issue too, I had to run the command:
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock

DO IT ON YOUR OWEN RISK! I HAVE NOT TESTED ON A LENOVO TAB P11 YET!
These are the steps for rooting a Lenovo Tab M8 FHD!
I think essential are the points 19 to 21, to flash the boot.img ONCE AGAIN after vbmeta.img.
It discribes ... this part is key, otherwise you'll bootloop!
Fully charge tablet
Turn tablet on
Skip as much of the initial setup process as possible, however you MUST be connected to the WiFi in order to allow unlocking of your bootloader (Start -> More/Accept -> no wifi/Set-Up Offline -> skip setting current time set -> Choose reporting options / Hit Accept -> Skip Pin -> Skip Lenovo ID -> Lenovo User Experience Program (choose if you want to skip or not) -> Choose navigation etc) Get to the home screen
Swipe down from top of screen and open Settings
Developer Tools (enable dev tools if you don't yet have access) -> Enable USB Debugging
Developer Tools -> Enable OEM Unlocking (again, if you're not on WiFi, it may not allow you to do this)
Connect tablet usb and usb to computer (Click "allow" when the usb debugging popup comes up)
./adb devices (Make sure the computer can see the tablet)
./adb reboot bootloader
./fastboot devices (Make sure the computer can see the tablet)
./fastboot flashing unlock then press volume-up on the device
./fastboot reboot`
On the Lenovo loading splash screen, you should now get the Orange State alert that the device is unlocked. It may take a bit to reboot as you've just wiped all data again and it must do initial setup
Device boots up normally. Now you can do real setup steps if you like, or you can ignore everything like in Step 3 above.
Enable USB Debugging again (Step 4-5)
Grab the boot.img and vbmeta.img from the LMSA TB_8505FS_S300025_201015_BMP update. Copy the boot.img to the tablet, taking note of the location (e.g., ./adb push boot.img /sdcard/)
Install latest version of Magisk Manager (doesn't need to be the Canary version, can be the regular version) and patch the boot image.
Clicked on "Install" on the righthand top in magisk manager
Clicked on "Next" Righthand top.
Selected "Select and Patch a File".
picked the boot.img file I had copied in step 1. Take note of the location of the patched image (magisk_patched.img), and copy it to your PC.
Reboot into bootloader again (./adb reboot bootloader)
Flashed the magisk patched boot.img ./fastboot flash boot path/to/magisk_patched.img
Flash the VB meta with the disable-verification flag ./fastboot --disable-verification flash vbmeta path/to/vbmeta.img
Flashed the magisk patched boot.img AGAIN!!!!!! (this part is key, otherwise you'll bootloop) ./fastboot flash boot path/to/magisk_patched.img
Reboot, you should now be rooted (can confirm in Magisk Manager) ./fastboot reboot
Is it ok/safe to flash this to TB-J606L?
It is the same model but with sim card and 4G.
Sometimes WiFi vs 4G models have the same software and detect differences on startup and sometimes not... Not sure about this model. I would prefer to not (soft)brick it.
Hi there. First time boot-unlocker needing help. I also have the P11 TB-J606F and would like to root it. I believe I need to do this first. I cannot seem to get any response from the tablet when doing this. In "regular tablet" mode I can connect and do ADB-commands, but in this "bootloader" mode I cannot seem to connect. I just get "Waiting for any device"
Could it be a driver issue? In device manager there is an Android device with an exclamation mark? I have no clue how to update this? Automatic doesn't work and I can't seem to find any drivers that work. I am not sure if this indeed is the problem, but you know - help needed, please.

Not sure if it helps. I had a similar issue with my Lenovo Tab M8 FHD.
The big issue was to get the android driver for win10, fastboot was not working. I found it under win10 update >> optional updates >>driver updates >> there was a medi.... as installable update. Afterthem fastboot was working fine.

Solution
Download and install LMSA and use Motorola ADB driver Device Manager
You should see P11 with no driver. Update driver > Let me choose > Android ADB > choose Motorola ADB driver

Two questions:
1. Did anyone lose their Widevine level when unlocking, installing Magisk and/or rooting? I currently have L1 and would hate to lose that (to L3).
2. Is it possible to use the TWRP version for the TB-J706F for the TB-J716F as well? Basically, they are very similar devices, but the screen (90 Hz OLED) and processor (Snapdragon 870 instead of Snapdragon 730G) are different, but I don't know what is relevant for TWRP. Otherwise, could I also root without TWRP?
Thanks in advance!

1. Yes you will lose L1 when unlock bootloader
2. No , TWRP with very different hardware so don't hope so much .
I see there is no reason to root TB-J716F now, current firmware is stable and smooth

Is it possible to lock bootloader after rooting again and gaining L1 back with keeping device rooted?
That's true, but I want to use some rooted apps, like Titanium Backup and AdAway ;-)

you can root after unlock bootloade by patching boot.img from stock rom (by magisk ) and install magisk without TWRP
