GM-6920F Stock Rom & Bootloop Issue - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi There,
Had an ongoing problem which i've tried and havent been able to solve. My phone died a week ago, to my surprise it seemed to be unable to power on. After trying more simpler methods, i figured my phone was bricked, as it is unable to boot into recovery mode regardless of what input or method i use. I have tried all sorts of broken data tools .ect. before i tried flashing a Stock Rom onto the device, as i have lots of pictures on the phone i seriously don't want to lose.
I tried installing TWRP onto the phone, no luck as it couldnt boot into recovery mode regardless of what i tried. It will just display the Samsung logo still. I've now tried to flash stock firmware onto the device using Odin which gave me a "FAIL!", "complete(write) operation failed". I've tried flashing a recovery.tar file as it's been suggested, as well as things like firewall and Usb cables but nothing seems to work. Literally nothing. Seems that being unable to get the phone into recovery mode at any point is the sole issues of all of these fixes.
Maybe someone with better knowledge can advise. I'm not bothered what happens to the phone, the photos/data on it are far more important but running out of hope to be honest.

[Q] Root frozen and can't get into download mode

I went to flash my sgs2s and it successfully went into download mode. I started Odin and it froze on xxxxx.img. After waiting about 30 minutes, I shut off the phone and tried to go back to my download mode, only to find that it goes to "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again." I have tried so many different ways to get it back into download mode and nothing seems to work. I can get to the screen to push the vol+ to get to download mode and it goes back to the error screen.
I have tried to use Kies to restore my device to no avail. I have scoured the web for any information, also to no avail. I have tried a couple of ROMs, one which was a stock ROM, no difference. I cannot boot my phone and am in need of my phone. Thank you for any help you might be able to offer.
Gsii or gsii skyrocket?

Its fine, its still in dl mode. Run it again
if it doesnt work after a few tries, reboot pc, right click and run odin as admin, try a different usb port or cable

What were you flashing? Seems like a bad download. Happened to me once. The error screen is download mode. If you try and connect the phone to a computer I am sure ODIN will be able to se it. Redownload whatever you were flashing and try to flash it again using ODIN.
As a usual warning, do NOT check repartition in ODIN.
As a usual tip, use the USb port that's directly on the motherboard of your PC, and not the one on the front.
Also, run ODIN as administrator.

Changed the usb port and it WORKED! Thanks everyone!
Good to hear.
I had to ask because a lot of... less-than-intelligent... people tend to flash skyrocket roms on gsii phones or vice versa, thus bricking their devices...

Help Just Soft Bricked New Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G SGH-T769

I followed this links w.mobilescommunity.com/android-tips-tutorial/208463-how-root-samsung-galaxy-s-blaze-4g.html instructions to a "T" and when the phone came back on it stops at the welcome screen no matter what. I tried to install ClockworkMod Recovery per these instructions /theunlockr.com/2012/04/17/how-to-root-and-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-samsung-galaxy-blaze-4g/ and it seemed to work as I get the OMR mode when I try to get the download screen without having it already cable connected to the PC. When I have it connected to the PC I am able to get to the "Download" mode. OI! I never have had a problem rooting before. The stock OS ICS 4.0.4 was on it and I bought it new from T-Mobile and then it did the OTA update a week ago. I have had nothing on it other than stock and a few camera apps. I have already tried to return it to OEM with the OMR recovery but its still the same, always booting to the welcome screen. When I try to get it into a mode, ether the recovery mode or the download mode, it sometimes vibrates several times and then "May" go into one or the other depending if its cable tethered or not. HELP PLEASE, I disabled and this is my only outside contact short of coming into town to use the Internet at a cafe. Thanks, Jeff

----- Did you ever get your Blaze fixed?....
pretty much the same problem i have!!! i currently have the samsung galaxy s blaze and rooted it to the custom rom from konane using the odis program, it said passed and auto rebooted my phone, but when it gets to the home screen where you touch the android to set up your phone like its brand new, when i hit the android bot all that happens is a message force closing a bunch of apps appear. i can get to the download mode to install new roms and i've tried to re root back to the stock rom but now my computer doesnt recognize my phone. i've downloaded and installed the samsung drivers from several different forums including the ones recommended here but still nothing. what im wondering is if theres a way to install the rom or driver from an sd card to the phone or something else that im missing, or is my phone just screwed? any and all help is greatly appreciated.

[Q] Boot Loop with no Recovery Mode

Hi all, I have an Android tablet (Diablotek D2-721, very cheap I know, but it serves its purpose) that is stuck in a boot loop. The real problem here is that this device apparently does not have any sort of recovery mode and being in a boot loop means it does not get recognized by ADB or any firmware flashing software.
I researched all day yesterday perusing forum after forum but almost every single solution requires booting into recovery. Is anyone able to shed any light and tell me what my options might be at this point?
Thanks in advance.

Maybe you can try to flash a recovery like CWM via ODIN.
Just my 2 cents!!
No, I cannot flash anything because the tablet refuses to talk to my computer while in this boot loop. I tried ADB, Odin, and the manufacturer's flashing tool but nothing would register the device as being connected. Plus I set up a second operating system and tried doing all of the same things on Windows 7 because Windows 8 has been problematic with drivers but it still made no difference. Still, thanks for the suggestion. x.O
The matter is null now. I just took it back and got another tablet, one with a recovery mode.
For anyone searching on this D2-721 tablet, be wary because with no recovery mode available it is very hard if nigh impossible to recover from a lot of things normally recoverable from any Android device. I tried for two days and spent hours pouring through forums but in the end my computer just could not talk to the tablet while in a boot loop. And trust me, I tried everything.
Thanks for the responses and help, it was appreciated.

[q] soft brick! Help sph-d710 gb27

OK, SO HERE IS THE DEAL.!
Tried rooting my Epic 4g Touch SPH-D710 GB27 Sprint. and it got hung up at modem.bin, now the only thing i can acces in the phone is download mode. so i downloaded the stock ROM and tried flashing it again. but it got hung up again at modem.bin. no ROM is working and it doesn't matter what usb cable i use or what usb port i use it still does the same. i tried all sorts of things like removing SD card, uninstalling drives and re installing nothing works it always gets hung up at modem. i kind of came up with a solution in my head but not sure how to do it. what if i flash the ROM without the modem file and once i get my phone to boot flash the modem through recovery mode. i looked for all kinds of solutions but no thread gave me a straight up answer. if anyone knows how to fix this can you please provide me instructions and download links if required.
THANKS A LOT.!

[Q] last gasp to save vzw s3

I've been all over the forums and threads trying to find ways to fix this s3. Failed at every turn, so here it is. This s3 has had CM on it forever, like over a year now. I haven't explicitly tried to perform any updates. I woke up one morning at it was stuck on the splash screen with the little blue CM guy with a static white circle on his chest, but that's as far as it'll get.
I can get into ClockworkMod Recovery (6.0.3.1), but can't mount the sdcard to get at backups, or do much else for that matter.
I can get into Odin Mode, but every singe thing I have tried to flash fails - and I think I've tried them all. I've tried the usual steps, update drivers, switch cables, switch usb ports, etc. to no avail.
I can get to an adb shell in recovery, is there a way to flash a stock image from there?
Since it's in this weird soft-brick state, the hard brick solution of putting a boot img on the external sdcard don't seem to work.

Before ditching the phone, I'd suggest trying a JTAG service. You can find them on eBay for $30-50. Saved my S3 from a hardbrick from flashing the wrong firmware (Sprint version on Verizon S3).

Try flashing the latest TWRP ODIN image. http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/d2vzw/openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.0-d2vzw.tar
If that is able to flash, then use the Format Data/Cache option under wipe and see if that works. If not, you may need to use a pit file with a ODIN image to completely reformat the device, and reflash it.

Great suggestions, thank you.
I had tried both already, but your menion of TWRP reminded me that it was the closest I got to signs of life so I tried it again. Odin acts like it flashed successfully, even reset the device, but the device never actually took the image.
I didn't know much about pit files until the other day, and tried that also. I did try again and the format seems to work with the pit but any attempt to flash something subsequently results in the same failures.
Thanks for responding.

Remember too after you flash the odin file, you will most likely have to boot into stock recovery and do a factory reset, otherwise it won't boot, but will bootloop marvelously.
