Bluetooth Issues - Google Pixel 3 Questions & Answers

Hello,
Having a few bluetooth issues with the pixel 3.
1. Got some cheapy totu bluetooth headphones. In most cases on switching bluetooth on, the pixel 3 will not automatically conect to the headphones, I have to go to 'previous devices' and do it manually. Sometimes it will connect automatically but this is rare
2. In the night if i have had bluetooth connected, the phone will connect with my car bluetooth but i cant make calls, its just goes dead...I have to reboot the phone to make it work correctly
Any ideas ? Many thanks

Android Auto beeps 2-5 times before connecting to my car bluetooth...

Is there a way to auto swtich bluetooth?

I have my phone setup with my car and quality is great, but i can't figure out how to set the phone to auto switch to a bluetooth device for all calls once it's connected. Is there a way to do this?
My calls go to my bluetooth headset when the headset is already connected. My issue is that the phone doesn't automatically connect to the headset upon power on/boot up. This is the first phone I've had that does this and I don't like it.

It should be automatic, I think (or at least, in the BT devices settings). If not, try Tasker,

I don't get it. My phone auto connects for me. Did it with the tunelink in my car today and the past few weeks, did it for 4 days with my friends ford car with sync and does it at work with many different devices when I get near them.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I'm not sure I 100% get what you want. Are you saying you get the BT connection in your car but it won't send the calls to it? Your phone rings instead?
I can tell when my phone locks into my car's BT because the screen in my car indicates it. All calls then get redirected to the car's system.
My phone automatically connects when I start my car. Calls that I pickup with my steering will buttons route through to bluetooth. All that is fine. My problem is making outgoing calls. I have a feedback dial that is a pain to dial from. I like using the 1 touch calling on my phone much more - except when I dial through the phone, it never pushes to bluetooth. After connecting, I can switch to bluetooth, but I have to manually use the touchscreen to get it going. Is there any way that it can auto connect using bluetooth when I dial from my phone?
Weird, my phone automatically uses bluetooth even when I dial my from my phone. This is true for both my car's bluetooth and my bluetooth headphones. Maybe it's a setting in your car?

Did you check through the phone settings? I think there are some bluetooth settings in there.

[Q] Wifi hotspot interference with bluetooth

Problem: Whenever I enable my wifi hotspot it causes my bluetooth audio to fail after approximately 5 min.
Example: In the car on car audio talking. Now enable to the hotspot for a wifi device (both services running on my phone at the same time). It works fine for a few min but then my I suddenly can't hear the person on the other end of the bluetooth call.
Troubleshooting:
1. If I turn off the wifi hotspot, the bluetooth audio will reconnect after about a min and I can hear the caller again.
2. If I have a bluetooth call going, the call does not drop. The other person is still there but just I can't hear them, they continue to hear me talking the whole time. The bluetooth devices stays connected - only the audio in is lost while audio out continues to work normally.
3. I have reprovisioned my phone with a new stock rom and tried it from a clean install before loading any third party apps and I get the same thing.
Phone specs
HTC Amaze, stock rom, android 4.0.3
Admittedly, I have not experimented with other blutooth devices only the connection to my car audio. The problem could be with my car bluetooth but I have never had connection issues with the car audio connected to any other bluetooth device.
I read an article that wifi and bluetooth can interfere with one another. But this only happens when both services are enable on the same phone (My HTC Amaze) at the same time. Wierd and frustrating because I have to kill my hotspot if I am going to receive a call and use bluetooth.

Bluetooth - multiple devices

Maybe I've just never figured out how. Maybe a way doesn't exist.
Here's my problem and subsequent question: I only have two devices to which I connect my N5, my bluetooth earpiece and my car stereo. Whenever I connect it to my car, and then come inside and have to use my bluetooth earpiece, I have to open up bluetooth settings and click the earpiece to initiate the connection. Same problem vice versa. What I would like is for it to just recognize and automatically connect to each device. Is this possible?

[Q] Bluetooth connection problems

My phone will connect to my bluetooth device, but there won't be any audio going to it at first. I have to turn off bluetooth and then turn it back on for it to work properly. I must do this everytime.
Also, each bluetooth device use to save the volume levels. For instance when it's connected to my car it will be max volume, but when it's connected to my headphones it will be at the level I set it at from before. It no longer does that.
Any reason why?

Phone not auto connecting to car audio when connected by bluetooth

My phone was previously rooted and had been connecting to my car Bluetooth correctly for a couple of years. I have recently relocked the bootloader and reinstalled the phone but when I set it up now to connect to my car while I am driving, I have to manually open the phone and changed the incoming/outgoing call audio to the car. It used to do this automatically and I don't know how to fix this though I have searched through the settings on both car and phone. I believe the phone is the issue.
