Hey there fellow canucks!!!
Android Pie with One UI is now officially out for our device. Just got the OTA this morning, Thursday February 7. Go grab it...
Downloading from Roger's now..
---------- Post added at 08:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:36 AM ----------
Battery drained from 100% to 80% just downloading and installing...
Yup, installing on Koodo now
Seems ok
Installed successfully on my S9+ on Public Mobile. I was hoping this would finally enable *Wireless* Android Auto support that was promised by Google, but no go. Seriously irritated that I've been waiting over 4 months since buying this phone to be able to use Android auto without having to plug in the USB port each time.

Hi guys. Sorry if this is a dumb question but is it possible to flash the Shield tab so it works on Verizon's band instead of AT&T/T-Mobile?
Many folks have asked this, but no one is game to try it out. Being in Australia, I'd really like to attempt the WW version flash and see if I could use my Virgin Mobile Australia SIM to connect to 4G.
It seems theoretically possible, and I guess the only thing that would happen would be that you would get a non-booting device and would need to flash the original OS back onto the tablet through ADB.

Hah, and I see you also asked exactly the same question on the forums.geforce.com forum.
Man, I wish forums.geforce.com had Tapatalk support. It is a terrible CSS scheme for mobile device interaction.

Thanks bro. Yeah lets hope there's a solution soon.
I'm going to create a new forum post requesting an update on Android 5.0 Factory Images, then I'll take the plunge I reckon!
The other thing you could do would be to Download the last known full recovery image then let the OTA process upgrade the OS to Android 5 (now that all the OTAs for LTE are officially out).
After such a huge change in OS, I'm inclined to reinstall the OS from scratch anyhow. I know folks may scoff at me for doing this, but I did it on my Nexus 5 and the device is running so much better now.
What's up guys?
I just got a good news to y'all who owned LG G3 F460 S/K/L and i know that this is a great device but there's not much software updates.

Hi! Thanks, cool news!)) Waiting for my new LG G3 cat6 - actually running on Fulmics - I think it would perform AMAZINGLY on such firmware, could it beat G4's Snap 808?)))
---------- Post added at 03:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:12 PM ----------
And have anybody else tried that MM update?? Is it root'able?

I don't think it could beat G4, but man MM rom does get my phone running flawless real smooth.
I have tried so many methods or rooting but no luck, since the rom pretty new. But hey one more good news, G3 Cat.6 gets a CM 13 beta it's in developing though. Once the rom stable then i wouldn't do nothing.

What you talking about? Look in the CM 13 thread. We only have to wait a few days to get CM 13 for S6. Official CM Team is now working on this:

Lol a few days? Nice like a few months if anything. I really don't think cm will ever be ported to the s6. S7 is almost out and most of the devices will have a snapdragon cpu so it will be alot easier to bring cm to it. I think most of the devs will move to the s7.

Do you know how much work they would have to do in order to even make it a daily rom?
SamMobile has Android 8.1.0 listed for J327R7 but I can't find any info on if it is the same device as J327P (Boost/Sprint) apart from this store (scroll down and go to tech specs) but idk if it's any reliable. It says the same specs as boost (sd425 + all other specs). Someone please confirm or check if this rom will work on the J327P because I'm really getting tired of 6.0.
The J327(P/T/T1) model was supposed to get Android Oreo on September 2018, since it even got certified in the Wi-Fi Alliance with 8.0. Maybe it got cancel or delayed.
All of the J327(V/VPP/R7/R6/R4/U/W/A) version got updated to Android 8.0/8.1.0 to users.

Also don't flash the J327R7 firmware with J327P model it will brick your device.

R7 firmware wont flash on P devices unless you can change the PRODUCT NAME and only service centers have that capability.
I received an update on my Mediapad M5 8.4"
SHT-W09 today (25th April 2020).
Software update;
9.1.0.333 (C432E3R1P2)
Android Security patch - 1 April 2020
Update size approx 164MB
It's good that the Mediapad M5 8.4" is still getting updates.
I'm hoping it'll get updated to EMUI 10 at some point later this year
The first devices are getting it at the moment. 2018 model phones are going through Beta at the moment, so I don't see any reason why 2018 tablet won't get it. Definitely has the specs for it, and still receiving updates.
I hope we will get Android 10 but it is hard without an official communication, emui 10.1 is on the corner too. All Treble certified devices must receive a support for 2 year of major OS updates and 3 year of patches, Google says so.
At least you get 9.0! I'm on US version still stuck on 8. I'm trying to see if I can rebrand mine so at least I can get on 9.
@massima I doubt we will get Android 10 on our devices ... I am already happy to get still monthly security updates.

My UK version was stuck on EMUI 8 and wouldn't find any updates on the device itself, until I connected it to my PC and ran the HiSense update software on the PC and it found 3 or 4 updates in a row.
Since updating to EMUI 9, my updates work on the device itself again, rather than having to find them through my PC first.
Are there no external roms with android 10 for m5?

After Huawei stopped the ability to unlock bootloader people didn't really bother, unless you were lucky enough to have done it already while still on emui 9 and Huawei did not change the policy, no point in doing roms when there's hardly any users to install them
@hbar98 @sofir786 if we get a firmware of Europe then can we flash it manually?

I can't be sure tbh, as far as I know, if you have a US device you can flash US firmwares, you'd probably have to unlock the bootloader in order to flash a European firmware, ad you're rebranding the device
Just got the May security update. 335
How could it be, that my EU version SHT-W09 stuck at 8.0, while others like you get 9.1 OTA?
Any more recent updates for the Media Pad M5 8.4 in the US? Is a great little tablet that I hate to give up on. There's still no small, comparable tablet available that I've found.
