s7 g9300 camera replacement - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Need some help. My front and back camera died due water. Does g930f and g9300 have same camera modules or I need to order camera specific for g9300?
And one more question, flex cable on front camera was torn off, is that a reason why back camera won't work or that is just coincidence?

Same camera, any torn flex needs to be replaced. Replace the flex first cameras will probably work then. Problem with water damage is it's difficult to establish what has and has't been affected.

[Q] Arrive front camera

If u had a front camera from a titan can you put it in the arrive?? I only ask because my rom comes with front cam driver and i want to put it to use
That would be a very interesting and cool project. I'd love to see pics if you decide to try but I'd have to guess the different hardware would make it impossible for a regular Joe.
My assumption is that there aren't any contacts to attach the camera.....but I haven't studied the phone motherboard.
That being said, you could probably install a second camera on the same circuits as the rear camera and have some sort of manual switch......tricky surgery on your phone, but not out of the realm of possibility for someone who can solder.
A front camera, a removable micro-sd, and a 4.7" screen, which comes the last, are all what I wanted. Now maybe the gyro sensor to make it the perfect blend. We sprint SERO, so stuck.

Hey I have a problem! Any help is appreciated.

So I recently found an issue with my galaxy s6 main camera. When i lay my phone the table and flip to the back of the phone i notice that the main camera sensor "sinks" down, but when i flip it again it comes back to the postion it was before i flipped it to the back? Any ideas of why it happened? It only does this when camera is not in use. My camera is the samsung's isocell sensor module.

Camera not focusing properly

Hi all,
several days ago I noticed that the camera of my Mate 9 (MHA-L09C432) is not focusing.
Then I saw at this this thread that the camera module could be shifted.
Because the focus is working in properly in b/w mode I gave it a try.
Today I disassembled my phone (which was not easy) and saw that the bottom part of the dual camera module was slipped out of the fixture for 1-2mm.
After correcting this problem, cleaning the lenses and reassembling the phone I am now able to focus on objects in a range of about 1m again. But if the camera is not parallel to the object it is very difficult to focus...
But the main problem is, that i am not able to focus on an object which is more than 1m away... The object is always blurry and when i choose manual focus I am already on the maximum of the focus range...
In b/w mode everything works perfectly fine!
I cant see any impurities on the color-lens...
Does anybody have similar issues? What could be done to solve this problem? Could a new camera module solve this problem?
Thank you for any help in advance!
I fixed this problem by replacing the entire camera module.
I tried several things but only this solved the problem...
I do have the same problem exactly
So you probably have to replace your camera module...
The Mate 9 is not so easy to open up...

I replaced camera module, and it worked for a few days then the same issue returned. It will focus close up (-+ 1m distance) but far distance 3m to infinity will be out of focus. I can get the camera to refocus correctly (sometimes!) by sharply slapping the phone display face down onto the palm of my hand. It only works face down.
This happens with origin camera lens and replacement lens I installed.
I guess my only solution to have a working color camera on a phone is to buy a new phone that isn't made by Huawei, as a search of Internet suggests it isn't just Mate9 model that has this problem??

Sounds like your camera is slipping inside the bracket... I revented this problem by pressing the camera module in place and carefully fixing it with hot glue... Don't block the autofocus or the lens with hot glue. Only a very thin layer from the edge of the camera case to the bracket is required.

Thanks for feedback, I will try again to install the camera more securely.

I tried fixing the camera in the 'bracket' as you say - by glueing it down. Its just a space on the board it fits into, so I'm not sure about any bracket. I have now tried it with two camera modules (the original and a replacement I bought). Both cameras give the same unfocused result on anything more than 1-2 m away. Strangely on scenic shots some parts of the shot are in focus whilst most of the scene is out of focus. The front camera and monochrome camera are OK. The aperture option on the color camera doesn't work at all, if I try and edit depth of field after taking photo it has no effect. There's also a setting in the camera app to restore defaults, which has no effect also.

Having trouble finding the 5 mpx rear cam spare part

Hi, while I was doing some "experiments" (better not ask...) on my OP7, I accidentally hit the upper rear camera (the 5 mpx one) and cut its flat cable. The main rear camera is ok. Now the built-in camera app is not working anymore, it says that it found some problem with the camera hardware and close itself, while other apps work fine (for example whatsapp camera or open camera from playstore).
Replacing that cam is a joke, since the battery cover is already removed, but I have trouble finding the spare part. All of the cameras I have found on the internet are only the main one (48 mpx). I was able to find only one ebay sale with both of the cams but it costs 50€ which is probably more than shipping the phone directly to Oneplus for the repair.
Do anyone know where I can find this cam? Or maybe a code for it that I can search?
