Same problem with me. When i am trying to flash my phone it keeps prompting me to connect the device. In my case Sony logo appears and the green led is there when i flash. But during the flashmode process the phone turns itself on and gets stuck in the sony logo. And the flashtool promts to connect the device.

flash cm10 kernel. you get recovery inbuilt with that.
phone will be unbricked. now if you want to get stock, then..
download flashable zip of miro stock from android dev section, and flash it in recovery after wiping all.
but do not turn the phone on yet.
extract the boot.img from this stock zip and flash it in fastboot.
now you have got stock kernel and stock firmware installed.
done.
Please explain how to flash cm10 kernel

my xperia miro is bricked..and it has an unlocked bootloader..i am trying to flash its firmware. but it wont happen..phone is automatically turning itself on.please help
1. first let flashtool prepare the files and when it asks you to commect the phone then only hold vol- and plug usb.
2. if that does not work for you do what i just said. install cm10. since you have unlocked bl, you can flash cm10 without any problem.

I think lol but when i went check it says
Bootloader Unlock:Yes
you dont need unlocked bl to flash ftf stock roms..... I think there is problem in loader.sin
Maybe this firmware works http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2049602
1. did u enable usb debugging?
2. do you have all drivers installed?
3. Bootloader Unlock: Yes ,doesn't mean that you have unlocked bootloader,it means that you can unlock bootloader if u can! And yes you don't need unlocked bootloader for flashing STOCK ftf files
Header error means your loader.sin is corrupted like drummer already said. Most FTF files have incorrect loader.sin files. You need to manually replace the file as soon as the FTF has been unpacked for flashing. So:
1. Click this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1504171&d=1353649357
2. Go to flash tool, click flash button, select the firmware to flash, with your phone still disconnected.
3. As soon as flashtool shows the 'connect phone screen' go to firmware folder inside flashtool folder, inside is a new folder with the unpacked sin files.
4. Replace loader.sin with the downloaded one.
5. Connect ur phone in flashmode.
Regards, Drago

Nope..wrong advice..check his log..
His bootloader is not unlockable or is not unlocked......hence.he cannot flash a custom kernel..
I had a doubt ...thats why I asked for the log...
There is no problem if he is covered by warranty..since bootloader is not unlocked,he will get warranty...just act like nothing..

Help please ..I couldn't flash my sony xperia z3 with flashtool ... Everytime it came up with loader.sin error ..
I've tried to flash customized HK 4.4.4 & 5.0.2 ..
I'm currently in 5.1.1 ... I've tried to flash with different laptop ..same results ..
flashtool version -0.9.19.0
I've followed every instructions to flash ,

I had this a few days ago it would only let me flash a newer os on the phone.
Trying to flash a rom of the same version or lower kept giving me the error.
But check drivers first I have heard others for it to work after reinstalling drivers in some cases.
Sent from my D6603 using XDA Free mobile app
download older version of the flashtool
FIX
reinstall the drivers found in flashtool/drivers folder.
then, close flashtool , plug the phone in flash mode(holding vol down)
windows should install drivers to device.
open flashtool and flash.
worked for me:fingers-crossed:
