functions novalaucher - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
with the "prime" version of novalaucher,
I need these functions:
- launch an app when the device is turned on
- deactivate the drop-down menu or protect access with a password
- deactivate the physical keys of the device
it's possible?

Hi tnnxda! First of all let me welcome you to XDA Developers.
Now, the forum that you've posted your questions is meant for releasing apps, not for Q&A or help. You'll probably get more help at Nova Launcher thread or at Q&A section.
Anyway, as far as my knowledge goes with Nova Launcher, none of features you asked about can be done with it. In fact, I've never seen an app that could do such things.
I hope this helps!
Cya.

[Idea] The Task Manager

The problem with most current task managers/switchers is that they
dont let you switch between programs when your in one of them.
Im using an Elf with HTC task manager V2, and to change to an open
program, I have to go: Start > Today > X button thing > program.
I very much like the idea of the HTC TS, but it could be more efficient.
I dont know about anyone else, but i dont often use the third button
along the top of the HTC TS. (theres "stop all" "settings" and "Memory")
My idea would be to make the "drop down" button stay in the top right
corner permanently, and when you click it, it gives you the list of open
programs like usual, but instead of the three current buttons, have:
"Stop this one" "stop All" and "Minimize."
The settings button could be moved to where all the rest of the devices
settings are.
This for me woule be the ultimate task manager, but sadly I am no
where near a good enough programmer yet to be able to pull this off,
so im putting the idea out there for anyone who might be able to manage it.

That was really a request in form of an idea ..... sneaky, sneaky!
Chances are that this thread will have to be moved to the Q&A section. Thanks for the "idea" though
You know, TaskFacade gets the job done pretty well also
you should try wktask... its the best because it does exactly what youre asking for... all the open tasks are tabbed at the top like your average windows start bar... you can hold down any tab for a drop down box full of options... terminate, minimize with x button option, hide from task bar (i use with phone, comm manager, etc), etc... ... i use that and morttasks app from mortbuttons with my slide up gesture... it pops up like the cube used to. its very useful when using apps that dont have a task bar like opera mini, spb mobile shell, etc... but hope this helps...

[Q] MagazineUX Launcher/App request forum

Hey there,
I'd like to know if anyone out there tried to use the new Samsung tablet UI on other devices. If so, how did the experience go? I have a feeling that it wouldn't work if I just took the APK out of a system dump and pushed it to my device (like it wouldn't work for the stock launchers of most devices out there, their full functions are usually buried somewhat deep in the system, like on the framework or even deeper sh*t the manufacturer decides), but I think it's worth asking.
Plus, is there a specific forum for app/ports/whatever-like-this requests? I see there is this Q&A board and the apps board, plus device-specific app requests threads over various forums, but I really don't know where would an app request with no specific device in mind would go. If there is such forum already, I'd like to know (and have this thread moved there, if possible), because I couldn't find it easily.
Thanks in advance for any help in any of the matters.

[Completed] [Q] Is there an app/etc for Multi-Window that's not Halo or XMulti?

I'm using a One Plus One device and I need another app/whatever that can add multi-window functionality to my device however I've tried Halo & XMULTIWINDOW they do not work very well for certain apps. that I want to use.
Basically:
I am open to CUSTOM ROMS/etc. as long as it isn't HALO or XMULTIWINDOW...
Any suggestions?
NOTE: It just needs to be able to run at least 3 apps. at the same time also I know there is a MultiWindow Manager for SAMSUNG is it possible that i can be made usable for my device(ONE plus ONE)?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. I can see you've posted the same question here:
[Q] Multitasking apps/roms please?
Please refer to the XDA Forum Rules for information regarding the creation of duplicate posts/threads. Your other thread is probably in the best place for your question so I'll let you continue there and close this one.

[Completed] User defined icon placement?

First of all, i have lurked in several threads but am still a novice in the xda community - so allow me to apologize in advance for posting a question that may very well be asked in the wrong thread. I know this community has an abundance of knowledgeble members, so this was my first destination to find the answer I was looking for.
Q:
Is there a way (without root preferably?) anyone is aware of to create a user defined system for placing newly downloaded app icons on my desktop?
I am very anal about aesthetics when it comes to my phone, and i absolutely hate icons being placed in what seens to be an almost random pattern.
I want to be able to choose a user defined placement system that chooses the page, column, and row in which the next icon will be automatically placed after it is downloaded. Ideally there would be an order of importance that i could set so my device knows that if x spot is taken then the icon instead goes y.
I hope this made sense.
I generally use Nova Prime, and my device is running 4.4.2 and is not currently rooted (rooting is an option if thats the only way to make it happen).
Thanks in advance for any help i may receive.
