Has anyone else experienced a slow shutter when hdr and/or ai are enabled?
If your taking a photo of a moving object like a dog, the camera takes a second before the shutter goes and the picture is blurry or you miss the shot.
It's like the camera has to think too much before it snaps the shot. When I turn these option off I find the camera very quick and responsive.

I have noticed that sometimes camera loses focus when shooting closely. It is hard to do close shot and takes several tries and different angles. I can see that auto-focus is precise but it fails to lock and gets blurry. Why would it return to be blurry if auto-focus is right?
If there was a way to have more control over focus and lock it when it is focused enough so it won't lose lock and gets blurry.
I heard that Camera360 app takes care of macro but it does not make any difference.

I'm from India, recently I had enabled camera2api in my Redmi note 5 pro. but after that some camera apps issue with shutter speed and some with ISO. even I set shutter speed to 10 or 12 seconds but it clicks normally as default Shutter speed. Due to this I can't take any long exposure shots. Gcam is ok but manual.....
If anyone knows any fix or any port, please reply.
Max exposure time is 1/2s,hope someone could made a long exposure time patch

I have been using my Mi Mix 3 for a couple of weeks and I noticed something annoying when taking pictures. If I shoot someone who is moving a little there is a strong blurry effect, as if the shutter speed wasn't quick enough. I have the same issue with other camera apps that I have installed.
Is there a specific setting to solve this matter ?

Shutter speeds depends of light conditions, like in any other camera. Do this in sunny day, on the beach, in park and You will do picture without blur. When the conditions get worse, it's mainly the light, in evening, in the darkened places, the shutter needs to open for a long time to record a sufficient bright picture. The consequence of this is blur when the object is moving. It's normal.

Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately I have the same issue with good light conditions. I'm going to try again but it starts worrying me.

I received my Note20Ultra today and absolutely love it. However, theres this small quirk the camera post processing keeps wanting to adjust after taking a picture in very low light.
I attached a screen recording of the instance which you can view to see for yourselves.

So I wanted to take a pic of the cruise control buttons in focus but with the gauges having a really nice natural bokeh to them.
But right after taking the picture I'll quickly go to view it and actually like what I see, but theres a little circle at the bottom spinning like its loading something.
Once done loading the picture turns to absolute garbage.
I tried turning scene optimizer off but that didnt do anything, turning HDR off helped a little but not much.
Its a weird shot I know but my Note 10+ does it just fine.
For comparison this is the same type of shot I took with my Note10+
Love that the shadows stayed pitch black, even while moving.

If I'm not wrong, for taking a good enough picture in low light you have to keep the shutter of the camera open for more time, to be able to capture more light.
It's a long exposure.
What you see "loading something" is the actual time it keeps the shutter open.
During its process you have to be still until it finishes or it will result a blurry picture.

You are correct in the fact that a camera needs extended shutter time to take in more light for low light but thats not what I was referring to here.
I was talking about the loading circle AFTER the picture was taken, the one where Im viewing the photo and it suddenly changes from a nice shot to an over exposed mess lol
The night mode carries over from the S20 Ultra. Hate it when I have a decent capture and post adds weird chroma and focusing artifacts. I was hoping this would be fixed but nope. It's even more pronounced because you're coming from a Note10+...
For best results in those scenarios is to use pro mode, adjust your ISO to the lowest possible where the shutter speed still allows for reasonable lack of motion blur. If everything is rock solid (tripod and stationary subject), you can get some nice shots @50ISO and whatever shutter speed is required for decent exposure.

Looking at the data of the photo it does look like it jacked the ISO up to 1600 which is ridiculous lol
Appreciate the input, looks like PRO mode for weird shots like this is the go to feature.
Other than this little scenario this camera is amazing, not saying the Note10+ is bad by any means because it has been my favorite camera to shoot with, up until now.
I'm gonna purchase this phone but need to know if you can zoom during video recording?
At basic 4K30 setting does it switch cameras/lenses when you use the zoom slider?
Short answer is: nope.
At 4K30, with the standard camera app, you can select one of three lenses: ultra wide (0.5x), standard (1x) or the zoom lens (5x). With each your then have the option to digitally zoom in during filming, with the ultra wide then ranging from 0.5 to 2x, with the standard going from 1x to 6x and with the zoom lens you start at 5x and can zoom in to 15x zoom max. A slider will be on screen to help you with that. It's all digital zoom, so don't expect picture quality to remain the same.

This is bummer... Is it down to Xiaomi or it's the first phone with multiple cameras that can't switch on the fly during video recording ?!
OK that person is wrong. I zoom while recording all the time... I usually either use 720p to minimize file size or 4k60 for max quality. Maybe he's using the wrong mode.
My personal experience is exactly what Appelsap described. No way for me to switch cameras on the fly while recording video.
What about other apps like FIlmic PRO - do you have access to the other cameras?
In Filmic Pro I could only find the switch from back to front. Is there another way to access the other cameras?
So you can zoom, but only digitally using the same lens. You can't switch lenses to zoom even more during filming. I tested the 4K30 as was asked, didn't try other formats (720p/HD/8K) but expect the same result even then. Main issue would be that switching lenses would be noticable in the resulting film. The lenses are in a slightly different position on the phone - they have to be next to each other rather than on top of each other , so whilst zooming in or out you'd see the camera shift suddenly to a slightly different position. I doubt other multi-lens phones can switch camera's during filming, you'd notice it then too - but do correct me when I'm wrong and tell me how the software then solves the suddenly shifted perspective (or not).
Every other multicamera phone (as far as I know) is using different cameras (lenses) while video recording. My most current phone is Find X2 Pro and it is using all of the cameras, however they are not enabled in Filmic Pro, in comparison OnePlus 8 PRO is enabled and all cameras can be used in Filmic Pro but this is different topic.
So basically this is first high end camera centric phone that is unusable in video recording, what a shame... I will cancel my purchase then.....
My Find X2 Pro is the best package overall but I'm missing the 2x telephoto camera as there is quite a gap between the 25mm main camera and 130mm 5x periscope one.

It's not only the perspective. Different cameras have different aperture, meaning different exposure. So if you pay attention, you will notice that - it gets darker when the phone switches to 5x camera. Don't know what cameras and aperture have the other phones but I'm extremely interested in an example video zooming from UW all the way to periscope and producing usable picture quality in 4k.
Just wanted to let you know that on latest EU weekly, the switches cameras on fly during video recording 1800p.
I also confirm that the video produced is not the best quality as expected - changing the camera changes the exposure and focus too.
For 4k it doesn't switch cameras.

Just tried it, and you are so right. At 1080p it does switch lenses during zooming (in/out), which is very noticable in the result, so why you'd want that is beyond me really. But it is possible. I'd like to see another phone do this without changes to exposure and focus, that seems very unlikely to me.
