My name is Boris and I work for SURE Universal. We have developed an STB app that along with our Mobile Client app enables to fully control STBs that run Android with AOSP signature*. Moreover, it actually serves as a Smart Home hub that let's you control smart devices and even get a video stream from an IP camera.
* How can you tell whether your STB is AOSP signed or not? If your STB is signed with a different signature, you won't be able to install the app.

Hello all,
I ask the community about the existance (or not) of any application allowing a mobile device (windows mobile in my case) to act as a video streaming server (send the live video from your camera to the internet).
I already know and tested Qik, Livecast and so one BUT the application installed on the mobile only allow to upload the video recorded to their own server (ie qik.com, livecast.com) where an account register is needed, then video can be shared online/and on your facebook/blog.
So does anyone has hack a such qik/livecast mobile application in order to modify the server URL coded in hard I guess, so that we can upload on our own server and then do what we want with the stream ?
Or do you know any other open sources software that can fulfill this function on a windows mobile device ?

This is my attempt to create a basic Linux TV server for mobile devices. A poor mans slingbox alternative (with a channel controller). I started tinkering with a simple android webview apk that I haven't posted yet because I want to create one that would support ssh tunnels for the server. So for now this example can run from any www client with flash support (I'm running 2.2.1 firmware and Flash Player 10.2 in the demo) It's not as fancy as slingbox but it works for me.. maybe it would work for someone else too.

Hello, I'm searching for an alternative for BBQScreen which allows me to mirror/clone the screen of my S4 in realtime. I don't want to start any apps like Chromecast, just a realtime-streaming like AirPlay in connection with AirServer.I know there is an Android app called AirSync which allows me to create a connection to the AirServer, but a realtime-screen-mirroring like it is possible with an iOS-device is not possible (yet). BBQScreen makes this possible, but it regularly breaks down and I have to reconnect every few minutes...
Miracast should work like AirPlay, but I think it's not working as it should yet. If I'm mistaking, please let me know!
Reflector 2 Screen-Mirroring

To answer your question, a great alternative to BBQscreen is Reflector 2. It runs on a Mac or Windows computer and is compatible with Android devices using Google Cast. There is no additional software needed for the device(s) you wish to mirror. When your device is mirrored to your computer screen, the app will allow you to see what's happening on your device in real-time, as well as record your mirrored devices. As long as your computer and device are on the same network, you shouldn't experience issues using the app.
I'm using AirServer now. Works quite well, although iOS-devices still work better...

I wrote this TV companion application a few years ago. It needed a major refactor and I finally got around to it. It's a free app with limited ads. The rating is terrible right now as it has been broken for a few months. I hope the new updates encourage more positive reviews.
The application works for different use cases: Use it with your big box TV or watch live TV in the app
Let me go over some of the features in more detail:
