Tempered glass you recommend? - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

Which screen tempered glass is better for nore transparency and smooth touch

i think all glass protectors suck when you have some curves on the edges of the screen. I use these soft TPU protectors that can be applied wet so they fit perfectly.

There are a couple of screen protector threads in the accessories section. Maybe you should check there

says who? I said they sucked and if you think otherwise then thats all up to you of course but from my experience i think they suck so soft TPU all the way.

Hold up... don't get hurt.... just because you think something sucks doesn't mean everyone else has to, and it doesn't make it true. There is plenty of good feedback in the accessories section as I pointed out. I'm not trying to come at you, just letting the guy who asked the question know that they do not all "suck" as you say.

Best static grip screen protector?

Can someone recommend a static grip screen protector, please? I don't like the idea of the ones that need to be squeegeed on there, but I'm hoping there are some good alternatives.

Any experience with any of the other clarivue screen protectors (anti glare, mirror, or privacy)? If so, what were your impressions of them?
i just use the gorilla glass, dont like the feel of the screen with a protector on. Also, with this nice plastic case i got from best buy, the phone can never land on the screen if dropped.

I havent used any of those other ones, i've read good things about anti glare and ultra clear. but havent heard anything positive or negative about the others.
also, i have used a generic mirror screen on my hero before, makes the phone look nice when its off, however horrible to use in daylight and also screen brightness has to be all the way up so kills battery

I'd like to do this too, I absolutely love the feel and look of the phone without a screen protector. But I am too worried about scratches. I keep hearing people say things like it's Gorilla Glass and can't scratch. I watched the videos where people attempt to scratch the Gorilla Glass screen on purpose and can't. But every once in a while I read a comment from someone that says they got a scratch on their Gorilla Glass screen and they have no idea how. I'm not sure what to think.
Got my clarivue today, installed easy, can barely tell its there and doesn't mess with capacitive buttons on bottom.

Is gorilla glass what the screen is made of? 'Cuz I scratched mine. :-( My accessories were in the mail but I went out on a My Tracks expedition on a local hiking trail over the long weekend (couldn't resist! I've never had GPS on a phone) and I dropped my phone and it got scratched on what must've been a pebble in the otherwise softish dirt trail.
More accurately, my phone fell out of my pocket when I jumped thinking a spider landed on my head.
Received my clarivue screen protectors in the mail today and I am less than impressed with them.

It's not the quality of the screen protector itself that I have problem with. It is completely clear (as described) and has a nice feel to the touch. Not the same silky smoothness as glass obviously, but not a rubbery feel to it either.
The overall cut and fitment of the screen protector is my biggest problem with it. Clarivue says that all their screen protectors are cut slightly small (which is fine) but the design for the epic isn't centered properly. If you align the top correctly (so that the front facing camera and sensors are exposed) you will find that the entire screen protector favors the right hand side of the phone. This leaves you with a noticeable gap on the left side and practically no gap on the right side.
I also encountered some installation issues since the second tab did not want to separate from the screen protector. I wouldn't hold that against clarivue however, but in my case I had to physically separate them which caused the corner to not adhere to the screen properly.
I'm going to contact clarivue about these issues on monday and see what they have to say about it. I've heard good things about seidio's ultimate screen guard and will mostly like order a pair of them when they become available.
I had one custom fitted at a mall near me for 9 dollars. I really cant tell its there and it add to the feel of the screen (less greasy/finger marks).
i have a tiny scratch and have no idea what it's from. I assume it was a rivet on my jeans or some****, kinda disappointed since I've checked out people trying to scratch the screen but couldn't

UPDATE: Best screen protector! *look here*

I've used Clarivue screen protectors for my past 3 phones, and they have been the best. Used various screen protectors, from ZAGG to the ones from T-Mobile. None of them compare to the quality of Clarivue. The screen protectors are pretty much invisible and don't feel like plastic like most of the others do. Feels like your still sliding your finger across the glass screen
So check it out guys! I know it's for the O2X but I already ordered them for my G2X since it's the same hardware.
LG P990 Optimus 2X Screen Protector
UPDATE:
Alright guys... So the Clarivue was a bust. Sorry Anyways... disappointed with the Clarivue protectors I looked elsewhere, because I wanted TOTAL FRONT DOMINATION
Feel free to look http://www.bodyguardz.com/t-mobile-g2x-cases-screen-protectors-covers-shields-skins-films.html, best part is that you get 2 sets of protectors
I ordered the FULL BODY protectors... It's a wet apply protector, but has virtually NO orange peel like ZAGG and others do! High reduction in finger smudges also.
What I like most is that it protects the camera lens in the back, and the metal strip. I like the feel of the phone... So I only applied the protector to the Screen, metal strip in the back, and the camera lens... And I must say, I could not be happier!
I may try realook (clear as nothing and it's hard to scratch).

Not a lot to spend to make sure. Gorilla glass is scratch "resistant" not proof.
I'm going to try this one. I hated the Zagg.
I don't believe Realook has made one yet
I don't like the Zagg either. The ones I've tried leave an orange peel effect.

The Clarivue protectors are nearly invisible, and they feel like nothing is there. Not much to give up for some added protection. Gorilla grass is only scratch resistant, but you can damage it

Anybody have a good recommendation for an anti-glare screen protector? I'm not worried about damaging the glass (I always keep my phones in a belt case, not loose in my pocket), but reflections and fingerprints bother me a lot. For my original Nexus One, I surgically altered a Power Support screen protector intended for an iPod Touch, and that was quite good.

Matte finished Screen protector

Anyone found a good matte finished screen protector for sensation yet?? I have a very sweaty hand. So it is very difficult for me to use the phone sometimes. I used a Matte screen protector from Clarivue for my Motorola Droid, and I love it. But sadly, they said due to the curve design of the screen, there wont be one available for the sensation.

I am on the same boat. I caved and bought the clarivue crystal clear last week after finding out they didn't have the matte. I had a matte one from them on my N1 and it was perfect. But when the crystal clear came, I was disappointed that it did not fit the entire screen. It was cut just to fit the screen excluding the contoured edges.
I am losing hope for a good matte SP for this phone

Really? I bought the same one from this seller a few weeks back and it didn't conform to the screen's contoured edges. I eventually got a refund from him after telling him of this problem. I've since decided that I'm alright with going without a screen protector since I'm both careful with my phone and trusting in the durability of gorilla glass.

I had that when I first tried putting one on the sensation... it was very frustrating and than I saw it was upside down lol.

the one on the left is the one with clear screen protector and on the right matte anti glare SP.
both phones screen are made by different manufacturer, the right one is better
the matte one doesnt really stick completely on the side, but just tiny bit. but it doesnt the job and with a silicone cover on you cant see it.

I bought the same ones as well. Can't say they're good, but they'll do... and you can't really go wrong for the price. Just wish the edges would sit flat, but seeing as our screen edges are curved, I think only the screen protectors like invisishield will sit flush on it.
Matte screen protector
I'm using ones made by Great Shield. Not so much for protection but for fingerprint protection and my finger glide easily over it.

No full coverage screen protectors

While the curving of the glass at the ends make is easier for swiping gestures, it practically makes it impossible for manufacturers to make edge to edge screen protectors for the device :crying: It was the same case with the i9300. Most of them would start lifting at the edges or have dust and other crap stuck underneath. And smaller screen protectors ruin the look of the plain black glass with their edges.
So don't use one....

Easier said than done. This has been repeated like a million times before, gorilla glass WILL scratch. Might be more resistant, but it will. Also don't forget, say someone works in a dusty environment (construction) or maybe even a trip to the beach. A very good chance that the screen is going to be scratched. One could however argue that its a phone, supposed to be used and get scratched.
I am just pointing out one of the shortcomings of a screen that curves at the edges. Its not like I am getting people to sign a 'petition' for a flat glass

I think its safe to say it won't be as popular as the GS3. Even though all the major manufacturers were producing protectors for it, I still couldn't get my hands on a good edge to edge one.
Using my gnexus daily for pretty much exactly one year now. Never used a screen protector and/or case. Always in my pocket. Can't find any scratches.
Never understood how people got scratches on that thing and every screenprotector is visible and makes the phone look cheap. Better get a proper pouch or flip case for the phone, looks tons better and still prevents those ominous scratches everyone is scared of ;P

+1 on this. I just think that dry-apply screen protectors aren't as grippy as wet-apply.
Haven't used wet application types for some time, but don't they scratch if you put pressure on them, like fluid under the screen protector? Not to mention the sticky feeling one gets with the wet types.

It was a dry apply and it was very very sticky, not like those static cling ones. Once any part adheres to the screen, it's impossible to readjust without making things messy.

Well if they made a tempered glass screen protector for the Galaxy Nexus, I'm pretty sure they'll make one for the Nexus 4.
You will either have to get the glass overlay type or a wet protector like xoskins http://xoskins.com/cell-phone-skin-...protectors/google-nexus-4-full-body-protector if you want all of the glass covered. I shared a 40% off coupon a few days ago but that's expired now. The code sprintxo may still work. They were the best ones on my nexus that actually fit and covered all the glass.
There is a standard one and something else called as 'case fit' on the xoskins website. Does the latter mean its not edge to edge so that you can use cases with it?

anyone find a good glass screen protector?

I'm thinking of testing panzer glass, but it's spendy I think.
The curved screen is scary from either a responsive perspective or getting dust under if a protector isn't curved I think

edit: I received the Set at Saturday and installed it today. The Installation-process is a little bit tricky, you must extremly pay attention for unnecessary Loca wich squezzes out around the edges and the speakerholes. It must be removed before you start with the curing. im very satisfied with this kind of glass-protector, it looks and feel like the original Glass and yes, in my case its casefriendly, but you must check it out before you applie the Glass with the Loca.

I agree, Eugene was very helpful as the first set I had the loca was starting to become loose so Eugene sent me another set of glass and loca but I had problem with the loca not spreading evenly and again Eugene sent me another set and this time it was much better! I can say the support provided was top notch and I'm very happy with the support.
Thanks for the recommendation. Ordered the sgfreshidea last night... Now to find a skin for the back to give it some grip
Put the protector on, and it does fit with the Sony flip case. However, both the glass protectors they sent say they're for the xz3, but the camera cutout does not line up. Sent them a message via whatsapp, so we'll see what happens.
6 months later, are you still all happy with the sgfreshidea screen protector?
Any new suggestion? also does anyone know if the SGFreshIdea glass is compatible with the spigen case?
So i am replying myself.. The spigen case probably wont be compatible with the specific glass. Seller said that the fit would be very very tight.
So i tested a ScreenKnight screen protector. The result is really really good. Let it dry ( it was a wet install ) for 5 hours and the spigen case fitted great. Next day i removed some bubbles with a credit card and now is nearly perfect ( some rainbow effect on some spots and hope it will dry out ) .
