Development Goals:
- stability
- energy savings due to more efficient ARM algorithms
- strictly no overclocking unless approved by the manufacturer or my source base integrates it (also, even if my source base integrates it, expect no support for it)
- no undervolting as well unless the manufacturer approves it since it's relatively pointless IMHO...
- all improvements should require MINIMAL user interaction (e.g. you don't need to do anything except flash the kernel or at the very least use SetCPU or the like to set fixed options)

Nothing yet. It's been a chore modifying all my build scripts to support out-of-tree module compilation and I'm yet to work on the zip file support. When that's done, you can refer to my other kernels in other devices for what I'll put in since I have a unified development tree.

Boot.img is for stock ROM while dev.boot.img is for dev ROM. Not sure if the dev version works though since I only replaced the ramdisk and I don't have the dev ROM on my device.
*btw, please report back as to whether it works for you OR NOT! (especially if not!)

I'm using this kernel by the second day and until now everything's fine. I haven't detected any problem with my device...
EDIT: Noticed that my phone now have a problem: I connect the charging cable, but the device doesn't charge. Need to reboot and then it start charging.
Really think that this is a kernel bug. How can I confirm it?

This is a general problem with the Mi4i. Don't know if it's kernel or ROM related although I've tried to fix it in the kernel side so it's less frequently occuring.

I have tried the Kernel yesterday quickly (so no kernel log, sorry) and got bootloop on 5.8.6

Thanks. That makes 2 report of bootloops on dev ROM. Might have to not support it after all.

Please don't use this with 6.7.1.0 release. Xiaomi made some changes which makes the kernel crash due to a GPU hang when initializing SurfaceFlinger. We'll have to either wait for Xiaomi to update GitHub or revert to 6.6.10.0 in order for this to work. )

@intersectRaven will you update the Kernel to support MIUI 7?

i flashed ims4magisk call timer is working but not call waiting on JIO volte

Can we choose vibrate mode or ring mode? Previous build vibrate mode did not work, there was only ring ON mode or DND mode.

Clean flash is always recommended, so use "Migrate" from playstore for a hassle free clean flash.

This ROM's brightness is lower than any other Rom, i can barely see anything on my screen in sunshine, is there any app or mod to increase the brightness?

Which kernel is best, and can i flash kernel via magisk manager??

Hello @teztaz--v3! I'm sorry for pinging you, but I need help/advice. At first need to say Thanks for new update! ROM is smooth and fast but I got one critical problem with this port comparing with 5T port. Proximity sensor in this build is broken for me, for example in WhatsApp or any other messenger I need to press play on audio message 2-3 times cuz proximity sensor turns off while listening and audio stops to play. While calls, screen is flickering. But in old 5T port sensor is working perfectly without any problem. Can you help to fix it in this build?

Also while testing it, it is slow. It has delay in 2-3 seconds.

If it is then tell me other way to fix brightness issue

In the new assembly, the oxygen is not enough that the old bugs did not work, they also delivered new ones, just put it and immediately caught my eye that the brightness should now be unscrewed to the maximum like on all pies, and immediately hung in a silent mode, in general sadness. In addition to the aosip, at the moment nothing hooked, but the periodic crash of the “settings” does not give me rest. I did not find a solution and the problem apparently only appears to me)

Finger print will work, you just have to wake the device.

I've used this rom,
Very good performance compared to many other custom Roms
Seems like the most fluid rom, with the OnePlus animation optimizations
Good battery life too
Using miA2 camera - photos are good too
The only issue I face is - ambient display & sometimes fp unlock doesn't work unless you wake the phone(sometimes).
Great work dev. Please continue the development. We need this rom for rn5pro.

Thanks for your work on this, I thought PE was all but dead since Andro moved onto other projects.
I've been using 20190216-0408 as my daily driver for a while now and have very few bugs, but one issue (although very superficial) is that notification icons don't automatically disappear when you open them from the pulldown notification menu. It's easily rectified by pulling down on the notification bar a second time, but is this corrected in your version?

Haven't seen that issue here , this is not based on Andros work it's my own dt built from scratch

I think he means format data, if you come from MIUI.

I've encountered a bug of sorts, idk. I tried taking a picture but the camera app was black front/back cameras.
then i went into facebook messenger and whatsapp and same, black images fornt/back cameras.
reboot and all fine

Maybe it's gcam not liking to be installed as a system app , if it happens again think you can provide logs ?

Yes, it's stable. Popup camera works fine. Android auto has not been tested yet.

I'll test it, but now i m having a problem...i flashed this rom but it looks like it's stuck on the mi logo.. i flashed the rom, then the magisk

where is DFE

On my 5 plus to resolved the stuck in logo, I flashed magisk after reboot...
I wait to xiaomi's unlock to install this rom. it's great on 5plus.....

Well, to sum up in a few words...unfortunatelly this rom it's not stable enough to be used as a daily driver, I had a lot of problems, video stuttering, green band video on insta/fb, on havoc os i don't have this thing...High battery drain, I got 4H SOT, the same as MIUIMIX...

Have to say, very interesting room, although I haven't done the battery life test yet, it's surely a great job. The only thing it must have a fix is Bluetooth headphone bugs. After trying many times to use my Redmi Air Dots, and after a couple reboots, I can say it's crashed, I'll let you know soon if the battery life is up to the standards, good luck dev!
