Question about feature "Second Space" - Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Questions & Answers

I have a question about the feature "Second Space".
Suppose you have activated notifications in Second Space. Are these displayed as soon as you lock your phone (without logging into the first space!!) and were last in Second Space?
In other words: Can you set the function so that the notifications are only visible when you log into Second Space (e.g. by fingerprint) and as soon as you lock the device (without logging into the first space!!) they are no longer visible?
Because if the last selected space is always the active one and displays its notifications until you toggle the account, the feature would be useless to me.
I need first space always and second space only on demand when I use a different finger until I switch the device off.

Title asks it all 8)
Looking to extend the awake time for the lockscreen while it's waiting for one to enter the password, unlock pattern, etc.
EDIT: Reason being - while using the Xposed Quick Access module it would be nice if the screen didn't off itself after a couple of seconds whilst I'm reading whatever info I have set for Quick Access-ability.
Thanks!
Sooo... I think I've solved this issue with a Tasker task. Tested with an n = 1 data set, but that one was a success. Looking forward to future testings to see if this works and solves the issue.
For those interested - in Tasker, I set up an app profile and triggered screen on, never timeout while that app is open / on-screen. Not the most perfect task since I'll have to actively remove the app from the screen for the phone to operate the lock function as normal, but I think it'll work for what I was hoping to do.
- Using Xposed Notification mod, I can pull down the notification menu down when I receive a new notification (an email for example).
- Or even better, using the Dynamic Notifications app I can open the email straight from the dynamic notification (similar to the function found on the Moto X for those not familiar).
- Then through the Xposed Quick Access mod, the email opens right over the lockscreen without going through the whole unlocking the phone process saving a few motions, clicks, etc.
- Then the Tasker task takes over and keeps the screen on whilst I'm reading / responding to the email, then when I delete the email and the lockscreen appears, the Tasker task ends and the screen goes back into default screen off / timeout mode.
Hopefully this will help someone else out in the future, or give someone else another idea! 8)

Looking for a quick lock screen toggle option

Posted this in the LG section but have since rid of that phone for the S6.
I'm hoping to find a way to disable the lock screen when i'm at home or another trusted area, without the need for unnecessary GPS/Location usage as with what the 'smart lock' option demands. Also, without having to root the device.
On my S4 widgetsoid did this brilliantly right from the notification panel and it would coincide with the device locking features that were set.
For instance. Whenever i was home I'd disable by tapping the padlock icon. Then if i went out I'd just tap it again to enable it. If I forgot to enable it, the set time limit for the locking options would take control and eventually automatically lock the device on it's own.
Is there anything available like this? Widgetsoid needs system access for this feature to work now.

which notification to turn off

Certain notification pop-ups appear that I can't figure out where to turn them off. One example is each time my phone pairs with my Gear S2 watch (e.g. I walk out of BT range and then come back), another is a 'finding location' popup because I set smart lock to keep the phone unlocked when I'm at home.
Anyone know which notification to turn off for these service-level items?
Bonus round: I read in either the manual or a review that double-tapping a popup notification on the lock screen should launch the app. I took that to mean that since I have smart lock active it should just go to the app, however I'm still forced to swype the screen; double-tap on the pop-up notification doesn't do it. Are my expectations wrong or do I need to tweak yet another setting?
Sorry for all the questions. I just came from being on pure stock Android for several years and Samsung has added all their own settings layer which makes it a little confusing as I'm switching phones.

Question [GUIDE] Device Settings Menu | Part III - Display, Lock screen, Biometrics, Security, Safety

Device Settings Menu Guide, Tips & Discussions
Part 3 - Display, Lock screen, Biometrics and security, Safety
If you're new to this series or want to see the index, please read the Introductory Post first.
Display
Dark mode settings: I have kept it 'Turn on as scheduled' with 'sunset to sunshine'. If scheduled, the dark mode is only enabled after the screen gets off.
Brightness: When you change brightness in 'Adaptive brightness' mode, your device is smart enough to learn your usage patterns to determine the best level according to the environment as per your preferences. 'Reset usage patterns' in case you think your phone is drunk when in Auto mode.
Motion Smoothness: You have a monster with a 120 Hz refresh rate! Use it with 'Adaptive' mode. It also saves battery keeping your refresh rates low when not needed. 'Standard' mode uses a constant 60 Hz refresh rate. Use it when you know you will be scrolling and watching movies but want to save battery.
Eye comfort shield [Formerly Blue light filter]: Learn why you should use it here. I've set it to 'Custom' > 'Turn on as scheduled' > 'Sunset to sunrise'. You can toggle it from the notification panel as well. Still need to see how the new 'Adaptive' mode works - it claims that it makes minor adjustments throughout the day. Anyone can comment?
Night Mode: (Pie update) Enable it to make use of true blacks on your AMOLED screen, save battery and put less strain on eyes. I know you want it to only enable at night, so hop up to developer mode and set 'Night mode' to Automatic.
Screen mode: I've set it to 'Vivid' to let Samsung be where it is best at - Display Vibrance! If you are towards the cooler or warmer side, you have now the option to customize with 'White balance'. In 'Advanced settings', you also get to tweak RGB colours!
Font size and style; Screen zoom: I've set 'Screen Zoom' to 'Small' and 'Font Size' to Level 2 in order to get more content in a screen view. Please tell me if there's any better font on Galaxy Apps.
Screen resolution: By default, you don't get the resolution enabled that your S22U is capable of. I've changed it to WQHD+ for getting the most out of the best display in the market. I've the resolution set to HD+ in Medium Battery Saver mode in case I'm on Survival mode.
Full screen apps: I customize it when needed for an app. You can tell which apps should not show your camera cutout (so they show a bar instead)!
Screen timeout: Mine is set to 10 minutes. You know, pro users!
Home screen: Self-explanatory and I use Nova Launcher. Do enable 'Quick-open' notification panel.
Edge panels: You can set a maximum of 9 panels. Explore options for each panel and try more of them from the Store. I've enabled Apps edge (also make app pair and folders), People edge (upto 10), Smart select (take portion screenshots, make screen GIFs, pin a screen's content), Clipboard edge (auto-categorizes items), Reminder, Device maintenance (useful to review device performance OTG), Tasks edge (explore all available tasks), Quick tools (must have), Calendar. Tap Menu and 'Reorder' the panels as per your needs. In 'Edge panel handle', I've set the Transparency to highest and Size and widht to larges. I've dragged the handle to Right near power button so that I can always guess where the handle is.
Navigation bar: You can enjoy the immersive display by setting 'Navigation type' to 'Swipe gestures' and disabling 'Gesture hints' and 'Show button to hide keyboard'. I eventually got used to this. You also have an option to go back by dragging the sides. You can use Nav bar button on Quick Settings by dragging down the notification panel to toggle showing the navbar then.
Accidental touch protection: Really useful because I keep my phone screen faced to my leg side when inside pocket so that it's protected from the outside cruel world.
Screensaver: In case phone is your life even when it wants to get charged peacefully.
Lock screen
Screen lock type: I use Pattern with Biometrics (Intelligent Scan and Fingerprints mostly Fingerprints only). Fingerprints remain the best security and battery-efficient method to date at least for me. Use Iris for more security than regular face recognition. Also, with Iris, your device won't get unlocked while you're sleeping or with your photo. Use 'Intelligent Scan' for bit more ease (read about it here).
Smart Lock: It's a Google feature that can unlock your phone via On-body detection, Trusted places/devices and Voice Match. I used it once with On-body detection but couldn't impress me. Read about it here.
Secure lock settings: Disabled 'Make pattern visible'. Set 'Lock automatically' to 15 seconds in case I want to turn on the screen immediately without unlocking it. Anyways, 'Lock instantly with power key ' is enabled when I explicitly want it to get locked. Use 'Auto factory reset' carefully as someone could initiate this by simply making incorrect attempts. I've enabled 'Lock network and security' especially for theft use-case.
Always On Display: For customizing it, go to 'Clock style' below. Guide on AOD here and video here. You now have new display mode as 'Tap to show' AOD for 30 seconds. I've set it to 'show as scheduled' such it doesn't glow when I sleep. Also, I get an idea that it's time to get to bed when AOD stops showing up (same for wakeup).
Clock style: You can customize AOD with different clock styles, pictures, GIFs, Calendar and roaming clocks. Blue 'colour' gives a soothing effect every time I look at the clock for me. Similarly, you can customize your Lock Screen clock style here.
Content to show: 'Home button and clock' feel elegant for me.
Auto brightness: If enabled, you can also change it by double tapping the AOD clock. I have set it to the maximum to get eyes on it!
Show always; Set schedule: If you often check the clock at night, you can enable the former. I've disabled AOD during my night sleep schedule so that I additionally get a hint when it's already time to go to bed and whether it's time to get up or not.
Turn off to save battery: Enabled. Do you need AOD in survival mode too?
Roaming clock: I had to disable it as every operator in India puts SIM to Roaming mode when you're out of your circle (mostly defined to a state) and I get two identical clocks whenever I travel out of state.
Widgets: Enabled all available choices and will decide about the reordering or need of each of them after I arrive at the use-cases. The same goes for you maybe.
Contact information: Do fill it. I've included my name and number on it. Can be useful when stolen, lost or misplaced. You can include email or alternative mobile numbers as well since the primary number would probably be in the device itself.
Notifications: I've changed it to 'Details' from 'Icon only' since later makes it similar to AOD style notifications and I want the description of notifications once I go over my AOD screen. 'Hide content' if you don't want people to read your notifications. I rather do this on a per-app basis (like messages for OTPs, sensitive apps). 'Notifications icons only' Toggle 'Transparency' if you find it difficult to read notification over the wallpaper or want your wallpaper to expose. 'Auto-reverse text colour' makes it easier to adapt with the wallpaper. You can define 'Where to show' your notifications here (AOD or Lock screen or both).
Shortcuts: Define the two shortcuts you see on the bottom screen corners while on lock screen. You can choose any app though default (phone and camera) works for me.
Biometrics and security
Biometrics: You can remove biometrics data and configure 'Samsung Pass' to use these here. You can enable 'Screen-on' scan for making the device scan for your face as soon as screen turns on. This increases brightness immediately while it's scanning (can be annoying) and will drain some battery. In 'Fingerprint Scanner', you can add as many as 4 fingerprints (reserve one for Secure Folder).
Screen transition effect: Disabled as I want things at fastest.
Google Play Protect: Enabled. Read more here.
Find My Mobile: 'Remote controls', 'Google location service' and 'Send last location' enabled. This should be the first things to review once you buy the device. Prepare yourself with a demo on findmymobile.samsung.com.
Security update: Shows the patch level and gets updated with 'Software Update'.
Samsung Pass: Saves your passwords, addresses and payment information securely.
Install Unknown Apps: Allow/Disallow existing apps to install apps from APK.
Secure Folder: The replacement for Samsung My Knox. Must-use feature to separate your very private and confidential part of the phone. Guide here and video here.
Private Share: You can share your photos and videos without letting anyone save or download it. Uses blockchain. Need to learn more about this.
Other security settings: 'Set up SIM card lock' disabled (same reason as in 'Secure startup'), 'Make passwords visible' disabled, 'Security policy updates' auto update enabled (Here is what are these), 'Send security reports' enabled. Set 'Device admin apps' with care (Learn about them here in case you haven't). You need to remove an app from here before uninstalling it. 'Creditial Storage' for CAs and user certificates (Learn more about CAs here). 'Pin windows' is a very useful feature for me. In cases where you need to give your device to someone (for like watching a movie or seeing the gallery), if this is enabled with 'ask for pattern before unpinning', when you 'pin' that app (video player or gallery), people will have to pass the lock method to get out of that app. Configure which apps can have 'Usage data access', 'Notification access' and 'Do not disturb permission'.
Privacy
All permissions; Permissions manager: Manage and view granular level permissions per app or apps per permission basis.
Controls and alerts: You can set if apps can have 'Camera access' or 'Microphone access'. Disabling this makes no installed app to access these - could be done when you are in spy mode. You can also get alerted when an app accesses your clipboard with 'alert when clipboard accessed'.
Samsung: You get the privacy policy in Samsung Privacy. In Customization Service, I have disabled Use mobile data to save my data against nothing important. You can also request to Download your data Samsung has collected about you.
Google: Just like above, see what Google collects!
Location
App permissions: Allow apps and sites to detect your device's location. I've enabled it since I use too much location-specific content. You can turn it off if you suspect your dad working in NSA (approx. locality can still be tracked through IP, use VPN). If you need to enable Location for an app, I suggest using Allow while using app than Allow all the time for apps that you think only needs to use while you are using the app. Why allow Instagram to get location all the time when you only need it while sharing something? Google Maps, on the other hand, can give you information about upcoming traffic if allowed in the background!
Wi-Fi scanning; Bluetooth scanning: Wi-Fi scanning uses the database of Wi-Fi locations to predict your location. Read how it works here. Similar goes for BT.
Safety and emergency
Fill your Medical Info like Blood group and conditions so that any help knows about this when life goes wrong.
Add your Emergency contacts so you can access them on lock screen.
You can enable DND while you are driving with Silence notifications while driving.
Emergency mode [Formerly Ultra power saving mode]: You get a black screen that enables you to call and text. Saves a great battery when you are in survival mode. You can add few apps like WhatsApp too!
Panic mode: Keep this enabled (can save you) and when you press your power key 3 times, your device sends Location, Emergency text and photos from your camera to your selected content. Be careful that you are likely to press the power button multiple times when you are stressed and you would be sending unwanted photos to your contacts. Either disable the photo-sharing option or select contacts carefully.
FAQs
Does having Adaptive Refresh Rate really work better with a battery instead of 60 Hz? (Asked by @brokyneo)
Ans: It depends on the usage. If you reading something and not watching dynamic content like videos, you don't need to refresh the screen 120 times a second!
Adaptive Refresh Rates on S22 Ultra has 7 rates: 10Hz, 24Hz, 30Hz, 48Hz, 60Hz, 96Hz and 120Hz. With 10 Hz, you essentially make the GPU display frames 92% fewer times! This should save your battery to a great extent!

How To Guide [GUIDE] Device Settings Menu | Part IV - S Pen, Advanced Features, Maintenance, Apps

Device Settings Menu Guide, Tips & Discussions
Part 4 - Advanced features, Device maintenance, Apps
If you're new to this series or want to see the index, please read the Introductory Post first.
Advanced features
Link to Windows: ENABLED!! You can text, get notifications, call, see phone photos and in fact run Apps on your phone via your computer! View features here.
Call & text on other devices: You can make calls and text using your Watch, Tab or Speaker and they are routed via your main device. Thus, if you are logged into the same Samsung account on your Watch, you can call using it even if you are not in range of your primary phone and still use the phone mobile plan. For this, your devices need to be connected to the internet. Disable Use Wi-Fi only to use this feature even if your primary phone is on Mobile Data.
Continue apps on other devices: You can copy on one device and paste on the other that is logged into the same Samsung Account. Since this feature is enabled by default, be careful if you are signed it to the same account on your kid's device and do not want to let them see your copied text or pictures. It also supports apps (few for now) that can be synced to other device's recents.
Samsung DeX: Take the powerhouse with you! You can use your phone to get a desktop-like experience on your TV and PC screens. You can use it to make PPTs, manage photos on the device and endless possibilities. Your PC or TV becomes a desktop with your phone as the CPU! It works both wirelessly and by using an HDMI to USB C wire.
Android Auto: Must-have for car owners. My car, for now, does not support Android Auto, so can anyone add something to this?
Quick Share: You can make shareable links to share large files and even use Wi-Fi direct to share with nearby devices. I use the former much to avoid using my GDrive storage while sharing.
Labs: I have enabled both Multi window for all apps (if apps can use the feature, why not?) and Full screen in Split screen view (I will use split-screen rarely and when I do, I want full real estate).
Side key: When you Press and hold the power key, Wake Bixby is set to default and this is why you were struggling to find Power off menu in the beginning. You could still see the power off options in the Quick panel and also do it by pressing side and volume down keys together. Since they have now got rid of the Bixby button, I choose to get used to this since I power off my device rarely. Quick launch camera with Double press is great for the photographer in you. Pay with Samsung Pay is accessible by swiping up from the bottom of the lock-screen too! Open app will require unlock anyways!
Motion and gestures:
Lift to wake: Enabled since I pick it up mostly to see notifications and with fast unlock, it is a breeze to unlock device! Can anyone comment on the battery usage?
Double tap to turn on screen: Enabled. Useful when I just need to check notifications.
Double tap to turn off screen: Enabled. No need to go for physical buttons. If you use launchers like Nova, you can enable this feature in their settings.
Keep screen on while viewing: Would want to keep this ON sometimes (maybe a quick tile?) but sceptical about battery usage!
Alert when phone picked up: If enabled, you can purposely lift the phone (or when you lift to take it) just to check if you missed some call or messages.
Mute with gestures: Mute the annoying calls by just putting your hand above the screen or just turning your phone. The latter becomes a reflex after a few days!
Palm swipe to capture: Might be useful if you don't want to hit buttons. Enabled only because it does not interfere with any other gestures or accidental touches.
One-handed mode: A much-needed feature when you're on-the-go. If you hide the navigation bar, you cannot check 'Button' mode anymore. OHM is also a shortcut in my Edge panel that is easily accessible from one hand.
Bixby Routines: I have used much of Google Home Routines, Alexa, Samsung Routines and Tasker so I need to see about this.
Smart suggestions: You get suggestions with Samsung Keyboard, Widget, Calendar, Reminders and Messages based on the activity you are doing or what you receive from the other side (actually what is visible on your screen).
Screenshots and screen recording:
Show toolbar after capturing: You can scroll capture, crop and draw, add tags and share the screenshot as soon as you take it! Can be disabled when you need to take bulk screenshots since the toolbar will come in between.
Delete after sharing from toolbar: Storage saver! Enabled it since when I share a screenshot, it is mostly for one-time.
Hide status and navigation bars: Switched to Enabled! Yes, I don't want to show them. Disable from here when you want to take screenshots for embedding them into phone screens.
Format: JPG since I mostly share them. Switch to PNG for greater quality when you need to!
Screen recording: Choose if you want to record Sound from the mic while screen recording, set Video quality, set Selfie Video size and choose if you want to show taps and touches (useful when sharing a guide).
Video call effects: Just like Google Meet, you can hide your background and use a clearer voice. Works with Duo only for now.
Game Launcher: Optimizes and enhances your gameplay. You can also hide your games from appearing in the menu while they are categorized by Game Launcher.
Video brightness [Formerly Video Enhancer]: Makes colour vibrant and increases brightness while you are on chosen Video apps. Make sure to disable them for editing apps so that you get idea of the real colours and brightness of the video.
Dual Messenger: You can use two separate accounts for compatible apps (WhatsApp, Facebook) and restrict your contacts for the second ones. Suggested in case you have multiple accounts. You can even Use separate contact list to make your other WhatsApp number refer not to your main contact list. For more James Bond feel, use 'Secure Folder'. Delete all my data in Menu when you want to flush history.
[Discontinued] Finger sensor gestures: Open/close notification panel or launch Samsung Pay using the fingerprint sensor. Make this a habit. Looks cool.
[Discontinued] Device assistance app: Set to Google. Explore settings for the DAA - it was really cool to see Hindi (India) as an option there. Analyzing on-screen text/images is a very useful feature. Read the guide here and here on how to use Google Assistant like a pro.
[Discontinued] Multi window: One of the best features and legacy of Samsung and for Note, it's a must-use one. By default, you can use SSV (Split screen view) by selecting it for the required app in recents. 'Use Recents button' is much faster. 'Pop-up view action' can interfere if you generally drag down the notification panel from near the corners (enabled for me).
[Discontinued] Direct Share: Helps you save an extra tap while sharing something. Ninja guide here.
[Discontinued] Touch sensitivity: In case you use screen protectors or live in Antarctica (gloves), Enabled. Disabled for me.
Advanced features > S Pen
This section is exclusive to the former Note and now the S Ultra series so you should definitely give some time exploring it.
Air actions: Displays the availability of the S Pen and its charging level. Configure Pen button actions for each compatible App and master control. I've tweaked it a little bit to make 'Scroll up/down' for Chrome and 'Single press' to 'Skip' while 'Double press' to 'Play/Pause' for Music. You can always tap 'Reset S Pen' in Menu in case you want to get back the default settings.
S Pen unlock: If enabled, you can unlock your phone with your S Pen in case it was taken out while the device was unlocked. This helps you to stay with your S Pen and get back to work on your device if its screen turns off. In case you've enabled it, please keep an eye on your S Pen.
Screen off memo: Very useful when enabled. Just take the S Pen out while the device is unlocked and start solving math problems, writing notes or just passing your time with the oddly satisfying scratching noise.
Quick create notes: Holding the S Pen button, tap the screen twice and you can start taking a note. Looks cool if nothing, right?
S Pen to text: You can now use your S Pen in input fields and convert your handwriting to text. Even after they are converted, you can use S Pen to modify the text (insert or delete word or space) with marks defined in Learn how to edit with your S Pen.
Air view: Very useful features. Review them. 'Learn about S Pen features' on the bottom or watch this 30-min video.
Show air command icon: I don't like any over-the-screen icons so have disabled it. You can always open the Shortcuts menu by tapping the S Pen button while it's near the screen. I've also set 'Open Air Command' 'when S Pen is removed'.
Warn if S Pen is left behind: Works when the screen is off since if it's on, you probably be using the remote feature.
Sound; Vibration: Enabled since I don't like accidents. 'Oper Air command' in when S Pen is removed also helps in this case.
Digital Wellbeing

Battery and device care
Info: Add a home screen or edge panel shortcut to it as it's going to be really useful. Tap 'Optimize Now' once in a while. It includes virus scanning, memory cleaning, storage cleaning and battery optimization. Read below for more on these.
Battery:
Battery Usage: Do review this once in a while in order to identify culprits. 'Refresh' for real-time monitoring. In an ideal case, all of your compatible apps should be set to 'Optimise battery usage'. In case any of them not working fine in the background and you need them to, disable the optimization for the app. You can click an app (after clicking the displayed graphs) and then Limit usage to put it on sleep or deep sleep. This is permanent until you change, right?
Power saving: You get this option in Quick Bar too. It turns off AOD and 5G while limiting CPU to 70% and decreases the brightness by 10%. If you enable Limit apps and Home screen, you will get a dark theme with only a few selected apps. Do this when you are very low on battery and need it to pick up calls only.
Background usage limits: Enable Put unused apps to sleep so that your device regularly puts apps to sleep. Review the Sleeping apps and Deep sleeping apps if you are not getting notifications from an app. You can also manually add apps here for those you know you only use rarely and don't need notifications or background usage. For apps you never want to kill, put them in Never sleeping apps. Many apps would tell you to put them in here. Unless it is necessary, try them without putting them here.
Wireless power sharing: Enable it only when needed. You can skip taking the charger of your watch and charge it from your device! This is called Reverse Wireless Charging.
More battery settings:
Adaptive battery: How is it different from Put unused apps to sleep?
Processing speed: Default is optimised and should be good enough. You can turn your phone into a beast with High and Maximum modes.
Show battery percentage: Using only a simple battery icon will always confuse you about the real juice left. Enable it!
Show charging information: If enabled, this will show Charging information even when AOD is off. I like it.
Fast charging: It is for 15W adapters. Disabled by default and this is the reason you are not seeing Fast Charging text while using an older but Fast charger. You can keep it disabled if you charge overnight from a 15W charger.
Super fast charging: It is for 25W or 45W chargers.
Fast wireless charging: For wireless charging which is already slow, so enabled!
Protect battery: For usual days, you can keep this enabled. Limits your battery to charge up to 85% only which is very good for you battery health
Storage: Love to see 512 GB here but only when it's the denominator. User Data is also categorized so you can review and remove files of different types. 'Storage settings' summarizes device storage and you can tap the items to get to respective apps or apps settings. You also get to see the Large files and empty the Recycle bin of Gallery and Messages.
Memory:
Tap 'Clean Now' to clear your RAM. Likewise, for battery, these apps may appear here again. However, you might not need to clear your RAM anytime on Android.
Excluded apps: These apps never go out of RAM.
RAM Plus: SWAP finally! Since you cannot decrease it further from 2 GB, why not use 8 GB then! You will get a total RAM of 20 GB (with 12 GB RAM model)!! Restart required.
Device Security: The virus scanning is powered by McAfee. Since it's disabled by default, enabling it never hurts.
Software update is here.
Diagnostics checks your sensors, touch screen, ports and more. This should be the first thing to do when you face any issues or want to make a report on the phone to send.
Menu > Automation:
Auto optimize daily: Enabled at 10 PM because Sleep tracking apps are working in the night. You can choose to close apps to free memory if you need everything clean.
Auto restart at set times: Enable if you are obsessed about that restart feeling! I won't do it because it would clear all the notifications that I would have missed.
Adaptive power saving: Enabled, let us see how it works. Any experience?
Auto scan for malware: Why not?
Apps
All of your apps settings including Usage, Battery, Storage (Clear Data/Cache), Uninstalling and Force stopping, Notifications settings, Permissions, Defaults and Version/App details in store. I use 'Sort by size' with 'Show system apps' to occasionally review the apps taking the most storage. Change your 'Default apps', 'App permissions' and 'Special access' in the Menu. You can set 'set default apps automatically' as well. In 'Set as default', I've disabled 'Open links in app' even if they're not installed since I get annoyed when I have not installed an app because I want to browse on Chrome only (reduce usage of separate apps whenever possible). Read about 'Instant Apps' here (you can use these even without installing them). In case you mess up with the defaults and notifications, tap 'Reset app preferences'.
