Hey folks, I'm currently on the official Android Oreo build with root and noticed, that whenever I want to buy an app the play store crashes. Anyone experienced something similar?

Yes. Unrooted and it crashes with purchases. Tried wiping cache and data for play store. Thinking of doing a factory reset. On Pixel XL.

I had something similar in the past couple of days. Try searching Google on play store and then have a look at any Google apps that need updating, particularly Android system Web view

That is the culprit. Try wiping data and cache in app. Or maybe uninstalling it and reinstalling straight away? I was able to enable it so just suggestions here. Keep trying.

Maybe a coincidence then. Have you tried logging out of your Google account? Or wiping all your account settings and logging in again?

No success again. Is there a way to remove root on the Oreo builds? Couldn't find anything since this topic is pretty new at all. Will fastboot flashing the boot img from the Oreo build be sufficient?

There's nothing wrong with your web view. It's that way by design. It has been since Nougat. By default Nougat and Oreo use Chrome instead of Android System WebView. That's why you can't enable it right now. You can change it so it uses WebView instead in developer options.
Google explains how Chrome will become WebView in Android 7.0

Ever find a solution? I haven't had a chance to factory reset yet, will likely do so this weekend unless an alternative solution exists.

Did a factory reset, didn't help though. Had to reflash the Oreo image. Rooted again and play store works fine now.
After working for months without problems I cannot turn on the Hotspot anymore.
It goes off after a few seconds right away.
Honor 6X Pro, latest stock OS and security patches.
honor 6X pro? i assume it is 6X only.
try resetting the app preference in settings, apps, 3 dots and reset app preference.
if not helped then backup everything via hisuites and go for factory reset.

Thanks for your reply, when I talk about Pro, I mean the 64GB/4GB Ram Version.
What does resetting the app preferences reset exactly? I mean, do I have to reconfigure every app?
Thanks again
Thomas

No, only reset the preferences for the app that you resetted.
Anyway, I've read that you're on latest OS. Did you updated OTA or by Firmware Finder?

I see. You did something that could provoke this issue as far as you know?? Like removing system apps, modify some system files, ecc.

When you go on settings -> about phone, your build number is shown correctly or you see NRD90M test-keys? And if not, what's your build number?

Hello i've got kind of an issue with my Honor 8 FRD L09: I was recently using Lineage OS 14.1 without any issue. But I decided to go back to EMUI so I used dload method to install B101 update. Everything was ok and then from settings I installed B140. But right now it doesn't provide me any update from settings. I want to reach the last EMUI with Android 6.0
Does anybody knows how to install these updates from settings ?

Try factory reset. I went through the same thing as you and it solved.
When you do the B394 or whatever is the latest, do the reset again, just to clean old trash from previous versions.

Settings>Advanced settings>Backup & reset>Factory data reset.
You don't need to setup any google, Huawei or whatever account to get the update. I do a factory reset also after the last update. It prevents under performance and battery drain issues. That's why I always leave the accounts to the very end, after doing all updates.

Hello,
So after updating the phone, I did a factory reset, but i forgot the google account/password, now all the bypassing tutorials are not working, is there something that would work even after updating to the latest security updates? is it possible to downgrade if downgrading will fix it for me? and how?
Thanks in advance for your time.
Regards.
IMO it's always a good idea to remove all Google accounts from phone before doing a Factory Reset.
