i have 2 OEM samsung charger bases and 2 OEM samsung 2 amp wall plugs and charging my watch takes forever. when i put it on the charger with about 15% left, itll take about 90 to 110 min to charge to full. I recently bought a usb smart charger 4 port thing from sams club for my home charging purposes and when i charge it on that, it takes about half to 2/3 of the time it takes on my OEM wall plug. This is the exact thing i have that charges faster. Has anyone had similar experiences?
i assume it can only be because of a voltage regulation circuit of some sort
I only use a 1amp charger and it charges fine in about an hour. I'd say your charger is screwed.

i have about 10 samsung 2 amp chargers and 2 oem charging bases and so many cables, its kinda silly. Ive tried several combinations over the 14 to 15 mos ive owned this watch. The charger being screwed is 100% out of the question because that would mean that magic is charging all the other devices that charge just fine on those same "screwed" chargers

Hello, I just got my Nexus S this morning and as I am from Australia the UK wall charger that came with it is incompatible so I am charging via usb.
I did a forum search and read some threads and found out a full charge takes about 3 hours. My problem is the battery is charging only %1 every 5 minutes. At this rate it will take something like 7 hours to fully charge.
My question is: Is usb charge slower than a wall charge and would it be ok to charge my phone with a Sony Ericsson wall charger because I don't have anything else? I thought it would be alright but I am just checking because I only got the phone today and don't want to break it.

You can use any micro usb charger like your old phone or any htc charger etc. No problem. i always charge with any usb charger more than 500 mAH like 1A.
USB only has output capabiliy is 500 mA or so
charger got 800 mA or 1 A , i don't remember exact number ...
Thanks guys, I thought it would be fine but it was good to be sure.
If u want a better wall charger use a HTCs and get a thicker data cable... my phone charges fast .. the Modular AC that comes with samsungs phones suck ass lol .. and the think USB too.. buy a data cable that's thick and Ull be happy =D

I think macbooks have more juice in their USBs so I guess it depends on the computer.
But standard is 500mAh.
Ipad chargers and other tablet chargers are good for fast charging.
Are a couple of sites that sell good chronic ones.

Has anyone managed to get a car charger for this phone?
I've just tried to charge the phone with my car charger modded to "AC" mode by shorting the middle pins... and the S4 gets nada...
Have they changed the charging mechanics?
Is that what's going on? I was wondering what the heck was wrong with my charger!
Yup, the car charger still charges my old HTC, even with the Samsung cable... so there's definitely something different inside the charger...
I have a 2A usb car charger with generic cable to charge my devices. It's nothing special, but it works with my S4. Hope that helps.

Hmmm will have to look into getting a decent 2A charger then and NOT modifying it...
So I opened up my car charger and un-modded it back to original and it works like a charm now
I've got a 1A Belkin car charger and it seems to overload after a while when charging my gs4.
The green light on it blinks and my phone makes that sound when you plug in the charger.
Takes a while for it to happen but gets more frequent the longer you have it plugged in.
The charger works fine with my gf's nexus 4.

I'm using the Motorola charger (big blue circle). Got it for my Razr Maxx a year or so ago (I've gone through like 4 phones since then) and it works wonderfully. It's the best micro-USB car charger I've ever seen. Coiled cord, huge blue light (but not too bright since it's an ambient-style light), and charges quickly.

Seriously, the best car charger I've ever owned. 950mA is also one of the highest car chargers I've used.
I used to have that same motorola charger but I just switched to this one by SPIGEN: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0069EGLFY/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It charges at the same amperage as the stock wall charger that came with the S4. I use the Galaxy Charging Current app to check.

Different USB cables do pass different current even if using the same charging main. From tests I've done so far, a generic 3 ft USB 2.0 cable I randomly purchased online only allowed around 400 mA. An old Blackberry Torch 9810 cable allowed around 1200 mA. Original cable that came with the S4 allows 1900 mA. These numbers are from using the original wall charger main that came with phone.

2A Chargers with the Nexus 5?
My Nexus 5 1.2A wall adapter died overnight. Will not charge anything I plug into it, though the Nexus 5 microUSB cable works with other USB adapters I own.
Google wants me to ship back everything, including my defect-free Nexus 5, to replace the wall adapter. Not going to do that....
My question is: would it be ok to charge my Nexus 5 with a 2A charger? I have some 1A and 2A chargers around the house, but do not have any 1.2A chargers like the Nexus 5 one. If not I'm looking to buy something like this: http://www.amazon.com/PowerGen-2-4-...=1383756651&sr=1-4&keywords=1.2a+wall+adapter

Yes. That is fine. The phone will only pull what it needs. I use chargers from 0.5A all the way to 2.1A on all my devices.
Thanks for replying. Using chargers I already have will save me some money then.

I plugged the charger into a surge-strip and plugged my phone in before I went to bed (battery charging indicator appeared). Woke up and the battery was low and no charging indicator present. I tried another charger and the phone charging indicator appeared. Nothing else plugged into the surge protector was running either, and we didn't have any storms or weird weather last night in AZ.
I tried plugging something else into the Nexus 5 charger... nothing. Tried the Nexus 5 microUSB cable on a different wall adapter and it charged.
So yeah, the wall adapter for my N5 failed. Luckily in the hour before work my 2A charger got the N5 up to 70%. Topped it off to 100% on my wireless charger at work.

What brand was your 2A charger?
Beware: The nexus 5 will charge in USB mode for the 2 amps chargers (and a lot of other ones too). To solve this and charge in AC mode, you will need to buy a "charge-only" USB cable from amazon.
i charge my n5 with my 2012 n7 2 amp charger and all is good it also charges at the expected rate not a slow rate, ive used it every day since i have had the n5 which was the release day

This is interesting. Three questions.
What exactly does it imply in what mode the phone is charging?
How do I know in what mode the phone is charging?
Can I check cables for its purposes without destroying it?

1. AC Mode charges at a much faster rate than USB mode.
2. To check which mode the phone is charging in go to your battery settings and it will display on the top left
3. There is nothing to check with the cables, if you don't know if you have a charge only cable then you don't have one

I recently purchased ADATA PV110 power bank and I noticed a charging problem with my Galaxy S6. I noticed that both 1.0A and 2.1A outputs charge with the same speed, I did some tests and it takes roughly 2 minutes to charge 1%. So I tried it with my Samsung travel adapter which is 2.0A output and it takes about 1.10 minutes to charge 1%. Am I doing something wrong?

I don't think it is, but I just tested something and it turns out that different usb cables might affect the charging, I tried charging with the cable provided in the box and it charged 1% in 1.3 mins then I tried original samsung cable and it took whopping 5 minutes! What the hell? I thought it is the same with the usb cables as it is with the HDMI ones (different cables doesn't affect the performance). It turns out that it does with the usb.
I have 4 chargers on hand listed below...
1. Original Samsung Adaptive USB Charger
2. Anker PowerCore+ 10050+ QC 2.0 Charger
3. Anker PowerCore 10000
4. Pleson Fast Wireless Charger
Now my question is why is my S8+ charging similarly with all these chargers? Example @ 30%.... The Adaptive charger says 1 hr 9 min (reads fast charge), the Anker 10050+ says 1 hr 25 min (doesn't read fast charge), The Anker PowerCore 10000 says 1 hr 25 min (Not a fast charger), and the Pleson Fast Wireless Charger says 1 hr 44 min. Because only 1st one is actually fast charging your phone.
You should try 2 and 4 with original cable. If you have qualcomm version of s8 shold work
I'd echo the original cable and the wall plug that came with the device. Retry all 4 of these with the original cable and the wall plug.
Well I don't know if the Anker products are charging oddly because one is QC 2.0 and the other isn't, yet both have same 59 min charge time. So I question is the Samsung Adaptive charger is charging slow or fast? Here are some pics of the remaining charge with original black USB Cable.
From my experience, Samsung Devices don't really play nice with qc certified devices thanks to Sammy doing their own thing. What you are seeing is what made me buy Samsung's power kit.

Estimated time. Don't expect them to always show exactly the time.
I have QC 2.0 and 3.0 chargers and they all "fast charge" but I don't expect what the estimated time show to fully charge be accurate or else they wouldn't say estimate.

Compared to my s7edge this s8+ charges a lot slower. The s7e would fast charge and wirelessly fast charge from any third party wireless pads/adapters.
The s8+ is finicky about what activates fast charge (especially wireless) and even while in fast charge it does not charge as fast as s7.
My guess is samsung slowed the charging down to help with battery degradation.
I found a weird thing last night when I set my phone to charge at 2 AM with about 7% battery just to wake up around 6 AM and it being at 86% charged. That was a long time, I don't know what's going on. Either the phone isn't quick wireless charging or the Pleson Fast Wireless pad I have sucks.

So, I've seen this behavior too. If you see the charge stuck, unplug the cable and plug it back in. I'm not sure why, but that fixes the issue immediately.
Are you guys charging in a warm room? S8 will stop charging if the battery exceeds a certain temperature. Samsung really went overboard with battery safety after the Note 7.
