If you have the Whitestone Dome on you Note 9 please answer these questions. Thanks.
(1) Did it install perfect and bubble free or did you have problems?
(2) How long has it been on your phone?
(3) Have you developed any bubbles or spider web lines along the edges since you installed it?
(4) Any problems with the glue running into your charge port, headphone jack, power/volume buttons ETC during install?
(5) Have you received any scratches to the protector since it's been installed?
Thank for your time. Just not sure if I want to go the Dome route or not.

1. Yes every install flawless.
2. 2 months. Phone fell onto a hard floor and did not crack anything but caused delamination because of the junk adheasive provided. Other is a month now no issues.
3 See 2. Most will get this as it is defective uv adheasive that never fully cures. I made videos showing this
4. No just cover the speaker with the grill and you will be fine. Make sure the surface is level prior to the install. You can use a level app.
5 Out of a total of 6 kits. 2 that were 2 packs had one of them with at least one deep scrach. Then 1 other kit had a scrach. Out of 8 protectors.. 3 were scrached.
I vote against it. It's over priced. The cheaper kits have the same adheasive and are more in line of what you should be paying for a kit that uses defective adheasive. Whitestone is a huge waste of money and the warranty means nothing since you will be paying shipping every time and still be getting the same poor quality product every time.
Also note.
Everything leaves dust. They use no optical quality materials. I got a dust free install by doing it in a clean room at my work and using our stuff for cleaning. I have some tips on how to help this but it will be very hard to make sure all dust is off prior to the install. I know lost people are not like me but I make sure my screen is 100% dust free and look at it at multiple angles and a few different light sources. Also the dust removal stickers are trash. Cheap like the theam of the kit and it will leave some residue on your screen. Throw them away.
I have done this install three times for note 8 and ones for note 9.
1. I have had bubbles every single time. Note 9 had least. Just three minor on the edge where screen curves. I have been able to work them out tho, but that causes more glue to seep out.
2. On note 8 they lasted around 3 months each. Been using it just a week on my Note 9 atm.
3. Not on note 9. This seems perfect. On note 8 they all had lifting, but I could always find some small fault on how I treated my device. That said its like living on a razor's edge.
4. Not a issue.
5. Small hair scratches during those 3month segments.
This glass is so smooth and slick. Looks and feels absolutely amazing. I have done installation 100% correctly, but still having small bubbles. I dont think it's entirely reliable method, but you can work bubbles out before you cure it. But I think it causes it to separate more easily because it makes more glue seep out.
I love this glass, but cant say for certain if I would buy fourth. Maby, likely.... We will see how long this one lasts.
I just replaced mine yesterday...
First it got a lot of micro scratches and one big scratch, and I baby my phones like no one, hell I clean them every night.
Second the delamination on the edges until it drove me crazy, I like my phones looking nice and as pristine as possible.
I have to note that my first experience with the whitestone dome glass was perfect, I got one for my LG V30+ and until today after over a year of use doesn't have a single scratch or delamination.. it's just perfect!
I think they just have got greedier and cheap now using ****ty materials.
I'm not going through the hell of asking for a replacement as I have seen many many reviews and comments on Amazon and reddit about their ****ty customer service.
I used this product from Ringke after watching someone's video about it who also had the same problem with the whitestone doom glass ...
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JH795PN/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is the easiest screen protector I have installed in my life, cover almost the whole screen without the risk of being lifted by a case (at least the 3 cases I own didn't have an issue)
Though I really miss having the smoothness of a glass protector these seem to be pretty good.
To finish my post I would like you fellas who have a problem with Whitestone dome glass to say this with me: "**** Them!!"
You would think that a product that costs as much as they charge would have a better quality or at least stand behind their product's quality and warranty..

1 I installed flawlesly
2 2 months
3 Yes scratches easily and delamitation
4 no if you follow instructions to the T (though residue is present at the glass edges making it a dust magnet)
5 yes (lots of micro scratches and a big one too
6 (you didn't ask for this one) BUT bro please save your hard earned money and look for a different product
1. Flawless installation
2. Over two months
3. Just got two small ones today in the chin area at the bottom!
4. Nope, used the stickers and no glue went where it wasn't supposed to.
5. Got a big scratch today from my keys!
I'm gonna have to live with this, it's not so bad I need to take it off yet.
(1) I've done two installs on the note 9, one had a tiny bubble at the bottom, the other was flawless.
(2) First one was roughly 45 days before it started forming a half inch bubble on the curve of the display. Ended up cracking it in a drop and replaced it. The second one started de-laminating in the first week
(3) No bubbles near the edges but as you see from my 2nd answer I did form a bubble near the curve on my first install
(4) No issues with it running into ports. First install had an excess near the top so I would get little glue balls when wiping the device down
(5) scratches pretty easy
1. I had an extra note 8 Whitestone dome kit so i used that, the phone didn't fit completely in the plastic kit forcing me to eyeball it for the most part.
2. I've had it installed since i had the Note 9 on release date. .
3. Very small spot of small bubbles on lower right of screen but its on the bezel area just be fore the edge.
4. No Issues with glur running anywhere, even without using the kit and mostly eyeballing it. (lots of glue on the back of the phone but wiped off easily.)
5. No noticeable scratches at all but i baby my phones.
1. No it did have some small bubbles but nothing too important
2. 3 weeks
3. Yes and many of them, see here https://ibb.co/NZ1Rydp https://ibb.co/rwbbhwF https://ibb.co/26tSDS5
4. No because I covered them with tape
5. Yes but not visible easily
good evening guys. after removing the glass I noticed on the screen some, as little as dots. I guess it can be from glue (?). has happened to someone else and if so how are they removed? the liquid cloth did not remove them.
Sent from Note 9 while ruling the world from my toilet.

Put mine on in August - 5 months now.
I did three other phones in the product, so I'm pretty proficient in application, so it installed perfectly.
No issues with over-gluing areas - of course they give you a protector for the earphone/sensor area that works adequately.
There is some surface scratching now - two places, and I know exactly how it happened. I put my phone in the same pocket as my house keys. Otherwise, it has held up well. And let's be honest, that's the point of putting one of these on... so it can get scratched and not the phone glass.

1. Perfect install, no issues
2. Been on my phone since launch, second one on my wifes Note for two months. He first one got broken when she dropped it on gravel. Glass did its job and shattered, protecting the factory glass.
3. None
4. No
5. Nothing on mine, or Wifes second one. But I look at this as a sacrificial layer to protect the phone from drops, etc.
After 2 months and 1 week, this TGSP is looking good and holding on. Same for the wife's Note 9, plus a couple weeks.
I am very thankful that I have not experienced the lifting or spidering that others have reported!
I been using Whitestone dome since s8 and never had any issues. Yes, you will get some scratches, but far less than using the phone with out one (isn't this the whole point of using screen protector?). I now had it on 2 of note 9 (my wife and I) for a few months, and all I have is few micro scratches only visible at certain angle with screen off. If you use s pen much, then you need glass protector. Whitestone is best one by far as long as you follow direction during the install.

1. Perfect install, no bubbles ect.
2. 3 months.
3. Showing spider web lines near a couple of the edges.
4. No glue issues during install
5. Scratches really easily and has at least 3 hair line cracks across the glass, phone hasn't been dropped in anyway.
For the cost of the kit in my opinion this is by no means perfect, looks good at first but just doesn't hold up. I bought a two pack so will give another try and see how that one goes, was hoping to last a little longer though.
my last install has held up quite nicely considering it was not 100 % perfect. about 3 months now.
I have two air bubbles at the top right corner and they have not budged or have caused the rest of the protector to "web" or lift.
I change phone cases out very often. I have seen reports of WS users having issues where they start seeing the glass lift after swapping out cases multiple times.
The only thing i did different was cure the screen way longer than instructed. probably 15+ mins worth of "curing".

Today I received my Nokia 8. Totally love the design
But..... i'm afraid to scratch the screen will carry it around in my pocket....
What is the best screen protector I can buy.... any suggestions?
I went ahead and ordered a pack of 3x tempered glass by Mr Shield from amazon. Will take about 2 weeks till it gets to my country. Had Mr Shield on a previous phone I owned and was satisfied.
Had transparentvpolyurethane full body protection installed
Zagg Invisible HD Dry, but I've only found in Swedish websites and they don't send worldwide
Sent from my Nokia 8!
Have had Techgear GhostShield on my HTC 10 - which also had curved edges on the screen like the Nokia 8(which means that a normal SP wont be able to cover edge to edge).
The GhostShield are made from some slightly stretchy material - a bit tricky to fit - but does give edge to edge protection.
They have a slightly grippy feel to them - so you get some resistance when moving your finger - but I got used to it after a bit and quite like it.
I have ordered a 3 pack - in case I waste one getting a perfect fit (as I did with my HTC10)
In the meantime, I currently have the normal TechGear Screen Protector fitted - was a doddle to fit without bubbles - but leaves around 3mm margin unprotected on all sides of the screen
Tried the Omoton from Amazon.co.uk, absolute rubbish. Has black bars top and bottom which is where the adhesive is - doesn't actually stick to the screen which looks awful and destroyed the touch sensitivity. Shame because I used the same brand on my Nexus 5X and it was perfect.
Now using the PULEN branded one, works much better (sticks to the screen as it should) although it doesn't stick very well at the edges resulting in a 'halo' effect. Have tried both pieces and the same - is it possible the Nokia screen isn't completely flat?

Has it arrived by any chance? I just got my 8 and a "regular" tempered glass and the edges aren't sticking (looks really bad) so I'm looking for something that actually fits!
Received gadgetshieldz and put it on my Nokia 8.
The touch is very good but i made some mistakes and got three particles under it...
Will try imak hydrogel when it arrives.

Don't wish to patronise, but did you wipe down the edges of the screen with the wipes and dry thoroughly before applying?
I ask because I fitted two GhostShield successfully to my HTC 10 which has similar curved edges and they stayed on fine for at least 6 months.
The first one I tried I messed up the alignment and things got messy near the cut outs - so I removed it. But the 2nd one stayed on fine for around 6-7 months - and was not showing any signs of coming loose. I only replaced it after 6 months because it was getting a bit worn looking near the centre.
The 3rd was also not showing any signs of coming loose - when I removed prior to selling the phone - again at least 6months after being fitted.
I plan to fit one to my Nokia 8 this weekend - so will report back - in case they changed the design or material and it fails to stay stuck down...

Yes, of course I've done all of the precautions.
Previously I've been using XtremeGuard wet apply one.
It sticks very well to the screen.
GhostShield came of to easy.
Maybe we are talking about two different things.
This is the one I bought.

Yep - definitely the same ones I have ordered for my Nokia 8. And I know these were the same fitted to my HTC 10 - cos I found them by searching Order history.
I will fit mine this weekend and see how it goes.
I just mentioned the obvious stuff - cos I know fitting SPs is not always as straightforwards as some people think :cyclops:
I should know - I used to sell Brando Workshop SP in the UK many many years ago....
OK, I just tried fitting the GhostShield to my Nokia 8.
First thing, this is not the same design / fitting method and probably different / thinner material than what I fitted to my HTC 10 - which was definitely this GhostShield item - as I checked my Amazon order history.
The Nokia one has 3 tabs that you use in the fitting, the top protective sheet is yellow - the HTC one had 2 tabs and semi transparent top sheet. The alignment technique is also different.
The Nokia version is also thinner - I can see minor creases when I look at it at an angle, but it fits better around the cutouts.
I had to waste one - as when I tried to removed the step 3 protective sheet, it took the actual SP off with it!!
On the second one I had to be extra careful and used my fingernail to separate the SP from the protective sheet. This mean some bubbles were left behind in one corner which I had to smooth out again - and this has left some scuffs on the SP - cant see them unless I hold the phone at an angle.
It has gone down well around the edges - just need to wait a few days and see if they stay down - or if I get the same problem as @TeddyBeers...Will report back after a few days or sooner if it starts coming away.
For now I will hold back from recommending this newer design of GhostShield....
Tried the ghostshield screen protector.
Complete garbage, grainy screen, protector came cracked and the yellow film stuck to the SP when trying to remove at step 3.
Getting a refund for this.
Can anyone recommend me a good screen protector? seems to be none that are good for the nokia..
Every time I check Amazon there are more and more generic, Chinese, no-name tempered glass protectors...
Avoid any that say 'full screen protection' and/or have black/coloured edges as these don't stick to the screen, only around the edge, and make the phone near unusable. IMO of course.
If anyone finds a version of the sort that don't cover the curved edges, but Do stick to the screen, and - and this is important - actually stick right to the edge of the protector, do please spread the word!

Had the same issue - wasted one because the yellow stuff remained stuck to the SP and lifted it off the screen.
Tried second time and this time it separated ok. Been 24hrs and so far so good - the SP has remained stuck down - around the edges too.#
Another minor negative, it has left a thin line between where part 1 and part 2 of the first stage removal items are joined....
Have uploaded a couple of pics..

Mine has also done that.
My biggest issue is with the viewing quality of the SP (grainy, coloured dots, and a major reduction in sharpness), the 4k screen looks worse than my 1080p 5 year old sony xperia z after applying the SP.
Can someone from USA try for us Xtremeguard please.
I've used their protectors on nexus 4 - front and back glass survived for over 3 years while I've used XG

First protector should be the wet one I've used on N4, second is some sort of new one.
Discount code "Friday88" takes price down to $1.20 postage apparently free in US.
Full disclaimer , I was sent these screen protectors for free for the promise of a review. I also purchased a set for my girlfriends V30 (more on that later)
The package came with a bottle of cleaning / application fluid, a rather large microfiber cloth (larger that Skinomi or ArmorSuit) and 2 screen protectors. Also a heavy business card sized item that could be used for a squeegee or whatnot , but I chose to use a rubber one that I have used before.
The installation was a mess. I followed the instructions closely .I cleaned the phone , sprayed down the sp , phone and my fingers well then applied the sp to the phone as shown in the installation video. All was good until I proceeded to remove the Stretch Guard top cover from the SP. I grabbed the bent back corner and pulled at 180 degrees , and it came right off , with the SP along with it. Took me a second to notice this , and thus the first SP was trashed due to being set down on my desk. Bummer . Okay , so I watch the video again , bend the corner again and proceed to install the second SP (thank goodness it came with 2 right?) . This time I am quite careful , but it still pulls the SP up with it . I am holding down on the corner , pulling at 180 degrees and yet it still pulled up the SP and introduced a new set up bubbles underneath the SP and moved the alignment as well. I was able to get it straight and remove what I thought were all the visible bubbles. Then out with the hairdryer to get the corner and sides to stick down. This also was crazy because the SP wanted to stick to my fingers like glue, so I grabbed the microfiber cloth and used that where I needed and did the heat press heat repeat until the SP was firmly in place all around the screen.
Well , after using the hair dryer to get it finished, I cleaned the surface of the SP off and I found I had bubble like areas in the SP , but no visible air underneath. I looked as good as I could and could not see dust particles , but it has that feel to it. I can be seen in the attached pics. So far I am not too impressed by these SP's , the installation seem harder than needed. I have installed plenty of both glass and plastic protectors in the past , and I will say this install was the most difficult of the plastic ones I have ever done. I am not a pro by no means , and only install protectors once every couple of months. I feel that the top plastics (stretch guard) has way too much stick to it and pulls up the SP making it difficult to keep the SP on the phone. Also think there is a little issue with the adhesive under the SP , it seems to set up quickly in the middle making positioning of the SP during install a pain.
I plan to wait a little bit before trying the install again on my girls V30 , will put the Armor Suit on her's tonight instead. I also will give these "bubbles" a few days to see if they disappear.
Hopefully the troubles I had will help someone else who tries these SPs , maybe a heads up on the issue will make your install go better.
Okay... not so fast I guess. When I checked this morning, most of the "bubbles" were gone and the protector had a very different look and feel. Just did so notes with the spen and the feel is great. Plus, it really didn't leave any marks on the screen. I will mess with it a bunch today and post some more pics when I get home.

Hmmm i had a different install experience on my front cover. i thought it was a super simple wet install. I love how mine came out with no bubbles. The feel of this thing is amazing especially with the spen. I have used zaggs skinomi, xtremeguard etc and none are comparable to this one. imo

did you use lots of liquid , little bit of liquid , or some where in the middle?
I want this to work ,because like you said the spen works on it greatly. After 24 hours of being on all original bubbles and deformities are gone. only trouble is edge coming up with a Spigen liquid crystal case and a Monarch UAG case . I most likely will order another set , just because of the way the spen works so well , to see if I can get a better job on the install process.
attached photos from tonight
I would say I used a good amount of liquid. I actually dont think you can use too much. You want it to be able to move on the screen until it fits just perfect.

Nothing better than an honest review, thanks.
I've also noticed on various other screen protectors, sometimes what one thinks is dust it isn't . It's a defect in their adhesive .

He amended his review. It seems he was a bit premature to judge. I have the same issue as him now, I got the edge to edge instead of case friendly version and the corners are pulling up a bit, but it's the best plastic screen protector I've ever used. I'd swear it was glass.

I found a case that actually is working with the PhantomSkinz screen protector. It's the TORRAS Galaxy Note 9 Case, Crystal Clear Ultra Thin Slim Fit Soft TPU Gel Case Cover on Amazon.
Every case works with the case friendly phantomskinz... What do you mean? Are you using the non case friendly?
Yes. I'm using the full screen version and the case I copied does not cause lifting and is thin. However, it is a bit slick
Case friendly, for note 9 and a LG V30. Both had corners coming up. Waiting on a new set I ordered to follow up. Seems the sides are fine , but might be the height that is the issue. Spigen and UAG and Samsung cases were all tried.
Should have the next set over the weekend , so will follow up then.

Well, final verdict, case friendly it is not. This is after 30 hours of dry time and the phone not being used. Spigen liquid crystal case and the UAG Monarch had the same results. I ordered 2 more to test and see, and this is the results. Really was hoping these would work, the spen feel is good. But still not quite cut right for a case. In total, I tried 4 different screensavers from Phantom Skinz , and all peeled on the edges after 24 hours of dry time .
Back to being naked....

Using the "Ultra clear screen (case friendly)" and have installed 4 total sp's on note 9 and 2 on lg V30, and had the same results. Tested with UAG and Spigen cases , which are common and not rare. I also used the Samsung tough case as well. All peeled, after allowing time to dry. Maybe I have bad luck, or the cut is just a little too close. The tops and sides seem to be right , just a little bit of each corner goes far enough out to be rubbed by what I would consider most common cases.

Thats too bad. I was considering buying this screen protector. But since I use a spigen liquid air case, i guess i better avoid this SP.
Thanks for sharing ur experience OP

Guess it depends what kind of case you use.
I guess but there is a lot of room for any case...
I finally had enough. I removed the first one and reapplied using the new instructions and I was still having issues with the fingerprint sensor. I have to say that with it removed, it works so much better. I installed a film protector and it still works great. I'm done with Whitestone as it was a total waste of money. I emailed them and they told me that I would have to uninstall it without breaking the screen protector in order to get a refund. Good luck with that.
I have no issues with mine. Sure, the fingerprint sensor doesn't work as well but it's damn-near close.
Quick question for you though:
Do you remember where the 4 nipples (dots) were located on your glass?
The reason I'm asking is because I originally got the single pack and the glass had 4 little dots (2 on the top and 2 on the bottom) that I assume were used as spacers.
My second box was a two pack (because I effed up my first attempt) and the dots were now located on the left and right sides. I think they changed how the design of the protector and how it lifts itself up for the adhesive to improve fingerprint recognition. The 1st box had the "4 full"printed on the front while the 2nd box only said "3 full" (didn't have the "full-filling" listed).
Maybe you have what I would consider 1st Gen and I'm using 2nd Gen?
I did have issues shortly after install, but about every 6 hours I added new fingerprints and removed the old, each time was improving more and more. I did this for a day or so and now that I flashed the ASD3 firmware it's about as good as the stock Samsung film that was installed.
My theory is that the glue is still curing. As it cures, your fingerprints appear different, making the registered fingerprints look different than what it sees after more cure time.
I wouldn't give up just yet, in my opinion.

I'm using a generic brand UV cured protector ($10 off eBay) and it works great after re-registering my fingerprint a week after application.
I think you're absolutely right about the glue continuing to cure after the initial cure process using the lamp..

I probably had the 1st generation because I received them before I even got the phones. I have already given up as I am done dealing with this company. I have used them before and over time, stuff always seems to get up around the edges. I already went through both protectors so I'm done at this point. The fingerprint sensor works so much better without it anyhow. Now I barely have to press for it to work where as before I had to push down pretty hard.
I'm getting ready to remove mine as well. It's incredibly soft. I literally took a chunk out of it with my fingernail trying to scrape off what I thought was a piece of dirt on it.

Anything that cures with a UV lamp will work.. they all come out of the same factory anyway.
Just need a little patience and ensure its cured before registering your fingerprint.

Yeah, from maybe 2 feet off the couch arm onto a plastic vinyl flooring. Which if this protector can't survive that than it's definitely not work it. But now there's a crack going straight across it that just appeared today. I'm hoping it's a fluke with this particular protector and that these just aren't that flimsy.

Don't worry about it as I've tried both versions (side and bottom dot) with the latest instructions and cured with a much more expensive uv lamp, and neither worked.
I too gave up on the Whitestone, that was with ASBA. Maybe the new firmware could make it work, but I have no idea as I already returned both of mine.
I got a 2-pack, would not work no matter what I do, followed the instructions and videos to the dot. Got a replacement and still doesn't work, I give up on Whitestone Dome, got full refund. Clearly they are not trying to address the issue so I'm not going to support them until they do something about their false advertising.
I've also bought the whitestone screen protector.. Cost me $52 Sing dollars.. The shop install it for me and it look perfect.. I've went back home after a few hours and tried registering my fingerprints.. It was then I discovered that I could not even register my prints.. I tried very hard for many times and it was a terrible feeling I have for such a expensive screen protector.. With little luck I was to frustrated and remove it.. In the removal process it was another heartbreaking experience where the glass protector shatter into smaller pieces and I literally had to use a small pocket knife to scrap off the broken pieces...
Before the whitestone protector I had a similar protection which I broke it. I can tell you some conclusions: do not hurry with registering fingerprints. It seems the glue needs some days (maybe a week) to reach the final and stable composition. For me it takes two weeks to register fingerprints properly because I noticed the behaviour changes slightly from day to day. Also I mention here the registering the same finger in two different positions.
The first glass become usable after about two weeks. The unlock rate was about 4 of 5 and also it needs a little more pressure which also became smaller in time. For me it was ok. When I reached this point the phone falls down and I broke it. I wanted to order another but the store was out of stock so I bought whitestone dome glass. I replaced the glass and the new one did not need another adjusments, also it seems to be little more sensitive that the first one. The only thing that starts to bother me is the dust and dirt that gathers in the front camera hole.

Going to let you know, this is false. The glue is an AWFUL quality LOCA, a few redditors did some research on it (who use real LOCA daily). I pulled the Whitestone off my S9+ after a year, and it was still slightly tacky. That's not "needing to reach stability", that's just **** quality.
My Note 9 had the same issue, but I only had it on for a few months. Whitestone is just poor quality.
A 1 week later i bought a tempered glass fingerprint work from ebay and is not good.it has already slipped off the edges and the imprint goes very rarely and hard.do you use some protective foil or glass that goes the imprint and can you recommend it to me?
Hi,
For me no protection is far better than all other solution (also dom glass)
The general expérience is far better (touch feeling, colour, reflectance,...)
But you need to be more careful with your phone (avoid keys or sands contact and clean it every day with soft Cloth ). For me after 1 month like this I have no scratch or other things.

Sorry but no.
Buy armfim screen protector
Better than white dome and finger print actually working.
Hi,
The better I've tested since now is LK screen protector.
No change in colour and touch feeling and also seem to be more protective than OEM one (auto repair scratch).
I try this for 2 days now with an OEM leather case and so far so good the feeling is pretty good in hand (better than hell classical TPU case....) and descent protection .

I m looking and i don t found...
I am using Invisible Shield Ultra Clear and it works great.
I replaced my broken Whitestone with the Mocolo UV nanoptics. It costs about the 1/4 of the Whitestone and it works and feels exactly the same. That means that the fingerprint reader works at about its 85-90% of its original cabability.
Any new cheap glass protectors on the market? I'm looking for something full adhesive edge to edge. FPS compatibility is not too critical but if it works without applying UV glue that would be great.
I ended up avoiding fingerprint unlock because it never works on the first try with my screen protector. That's the only thing I don't like about this device
Been using the apiker film for a week or so, 4 for $10 or whatever. Had an alignement jig, i wasn't super careful about cleaning, should've installed in the bathroom. Works really well, no problem with finger print. There's two spots on each side where it has popped up a little from taking my case on and off a feew times.
Just ordered the johncase tempered from Amazon, has the little uv light, pack of two for $15. See what happens.
My fps works correctly at least 9 times out of 10. I just registered my most frequently used finger, the right thumb, two times. One when it was completely dry and one more time when it was wet. Now I rarely loose a scanning.
My Flip 3 is about nine months old. Enclosed are two pictures, one from midnight on July 4, the second from 11:30 the next morning (noon-ish, July 4). The device was left open overnight because I was backing up my files to a USB stick in preparation for Samsung's fix of the screen. You can see the de-lamination of the factory-installed screen protector spread overnight from one-half the screen, across then entire fold-area, to encompass the entire screen, in less than 12 hours. There was no damage to the screen before the de-lamination started two days ago (July 2). The first indication was a tiny spontaneous de-lamination at the far right edge where the screen folds.
The phone is lovingly cared for, never dropped, no tears, no scratches on the protective film, no water exposure, battery-saver (85%) on, slow-chaage always on, etc... The phone is otherwise in "like new" condition. Samsung support recommends a local "UBreakIFix" store for the repair. I'll let you guys know how the repair goes.
So the "cost" for using this phone, so far, is $100 a month. $900 divided by 9 months, before it's now so fragile it can't be safely used. Wow.
That sucks.
Another dropped ball from Samsung.
This was predictable. Samsung exceeded the limits of the plastics and adhesive system. It is a high risk technical venture and they likely will never have the durability most would like.
As long as the screen underneath isn't cracked/loose, it should be fixable by removing the plastic screen protector and applying your own

Yeah, the phone is in perfect condition, except for the protected coming off. If it were out of warranty I'd probablly try to fix it myself.
Interestingly, the local Samsung-authorized repair sites near me are taking one look at the phone and saying (even before they look at it), "No, we don't fix those. Check one of the other repair sites.... ." They say they'd need to replace the entire screen, rather than peel/apply a new protector. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with such an involved process being done by "just anybody." This phone is just so intricate it's hard to imagine a local repair store having the experience needed to "cut open the glued bits, avoid cutting the cables, replacing the screen, and gluing everything back together so it's secure and waterproof."
If Samsung has to fix it themselves then if the phone fails again they have no one but themselves to blame.
Does anyone here have experience with Samsung replacing their phone screen?
I took off the original screen protector about 4 weeks ago. It had no damage, but curiosity beat me and I wanted to try the real, naked screen
It felt sooooooo goooood! Smooth, no fingerprints, brighter, touch nav was better, no rainbow effect ect.
Went naked for over 3 weeks and no scratches or anything. But, a couple of days ago I applied myself the whitestone film. Easy to apply and It's better then samsungs.
So, had a nice adventure
I've read in many places that Samsung will honor the warranty even after removing the plastic screen. Double check on that, but I highly recommend replacing it
Had mine for barely a month before I couldn't deal with all the fingerprints and ugly feeling of the screen
YouTube videos are your friend for gauging the difficulty and seeing the process. Helped give me the courage to do it

That should tell you something.
Getting it right on the first or even second shot may prove challenging. Wet apply hydrocell's are relatively easy, one sided adhesive ones like the stock ones are a true pain.
Anyone who has removed the stock protector can tell you the flaw that causes it. They are using a rigid protector with a weak adhesive.
The folding aspect has allowed Samsung to make the process sound much more complex, but it's installing a protector like any other phone. The only difference is taking more care to smooth it into the crease. Let it sit open for a day and try to take it light for the next few. Almost any third-party protector that is decent as a screen protector will work.
The stock protector is poorly designed, but it's not some magical specialty item. It is a slightly nicer version of the film Samsung wraps all their phones with so they look new out of the box.
Screen is fine, right?
Just like peeling off a bandaid IMO. ;-)
I have decided to send the phone back to Samsung for the replacement of the screen protector. They did not require a phone factory reset for this work. I'll report the quality of the repair work when the phone is returned. I'm hoping it will look "factory fresh". But I've also ordered an aftermarket protector in case I need to fix the fix.

They may not have required you to do one, but I hope you did a backup. It doesn't always mean they won't end up doing one, planned or not.
Does anyone have a source to buy a new screen protector that isn't too rigid or thick? There are tons of options online but I'm not finding an OEM option to buy. But it sounds like some of you may have found a better option anyway. Any links would be appreciated!

I've used Skinomi since my Pixel 2 XL days. The wet application process makes sense and the self repair screen makes it always look new. It's what I'm currently using on the Zflip
When I had mine before I got rid of it, I replaced the screen protector with a liquid one. Worked very well up until the actual screen started cracking on the crease. Keep in mind no drops and everyday use. For the 3rd generation it's definitely sad to see

Thank you so much for this helpful hint. I previously purchased a Whitestone Dome screen protector with install jig. It went on perfectly, but when I folded the phone 30 minutes later it delaminated in the crease. I threw that $20 piece in the trash. Nowhere in the instructions or installation video did it say to wait a full day. Based on your input I installed the same kit again, waited a day before carefully folding the phone and, bam, works like a champ!

UV cured adhesive once fully cured is at its full strength. No additional time is needed.

Yeah I have never had an easy time with either of those types of adhesive systems*. Hydrocell wet apply works best on non-folding screens for me but may not be ideal for a foldable.
*Whitestone sent the wrong screen in the right box so I never did install it. They were a complete offshore nightmare to deal with. The "new" one I received had been incorrectly reboxed. They caused me quit a bit of trouble... and never even apologized for the inconvenience. So free advertising for them.

Glad to hear it worked out in the end. There is somewhat of a curing period with any adhesive, but rigid protectors will still separate over time. Given how flimsy those are, it will be a lot longer than the stock one anyway.
If you use a UV one, longer is not always better. The catch to UV activated adhesive is the same as UV resin. It is on a parabola where it will hit peak adhesion and then actually begin to break down. It's best to follow the exact times provided and then let it get some sunlight to finish off curing.
P.S. Whatever you do, do NOT use a liquid adhesive protector on this phone. It's not an S series or Note where the panel is flush with the case. It's an aluminum body wrapped OVER the screen. While they do claim it's water resistant, getting adhesive under that edge can eventually lead to pressure on the edges that will damage the screen and cause it to fracture.
