Over at the Note9 forums here someone posted a newer version of the Linux on DeX beta (1.0.43). This one works on the S9+ as well! I've at least tested terminal mode to work and I've used it a bit.
EDIT: Graphical mode works too!

Which Android Version/ROM are you currently using?
I'm just getting an error that I should update my phone on Oreo (Security Patch level Dezember 1st 2018).
Do I have to upgrade to latest Pie ROM to use Linux on Dex with S9+?

The Samsung dialer on the s7 isn't bad, but I was wondering if it would be possible to edit the apk for the google "phone" app on the play store. For what ever reason, google has limited the apps capability to android one and developer edition devices running 6.0+.
Would it be possible for one of you guys to download and extract the apk so I can see if it works with the s7.
And if it doesn't work, would it be possible to edit it to work?
This is for the google made app called phone on the play store

Perhaps the SD820 is bad. Or T-mobile doesn't allow it..

There is used to be an option in Play Store to stop automatically adding shortcut icon on the home screen everytime install a new app.
But it seems it has been removed in Play Store.
Anyone knows how to do that on HTC phone running Android 8?
Thanks in advance.
Long push the home screen and select settings.
Should be there

If you are referring to the method mentioned in this post, https://android.stackexchange.com/q...sable-add-icon-to-home-screen-on-android-oreo
No, there is no such setting as HTC Edge Sense has taken over the settings from Android 8 and doesn't seem implemented it.
Well, the European version still has this as described by me

You are on Android 8 with Edge Sense?
I bought mine from Hong Kong, and people from other places in Asia confirmed there is no such option in google play store since Android 8.

Thank you for your screen shots.
Mine is actually U11+, but it should have the same OS version and Edge Sense as U11 life.
I checked mine, it is
Android: 8.0.0
Android security patch level: October 1, 2017
Software Number:1.10.400.23
Kernel version: 4.4.78
Build number 1.10.400.23
Not sure why it is different to U11 life.

This is really annoying..?
Hey all, today I have the most stable Google camera apk. Almost everything works in this .
Requirements-
Any Android pie software.
Camera 2 API enabled.
Installation-
Enable camera 2api and
Just install this as a normal apk no need to restart.
*Bugs*- ZOOM in 60fps recording in 1080p.(only in video stabilization)
4k doesnt work.
Except these, everything works!
I use Indian Variant of note 5 pro, so I can't say anything about global version.
Download-
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KVx8uycxvT6l4hTnFXdqyYcvhGeaJ4il/view?usp=drivesdk
Not work with global version. Global stable 10.2.1.0.

You may need Android pie for this to work.
For global (Pixel Experience r30) still have a lot of bugs.
For example switching to selfie camera crashing app, problems with hdr and slowmo.

Sorry in advance, I couldn't find a definite answer. Some say it can be rooted and others say it can't. So can a Verizon Galaxy S6 edge be rooted? Model number is SM-G950U and it is on software version 8.0.0. If it can be rooted, what is the best method?
Edit: what is the latest software version that can be rooted? I can keep it at 8 but if I can update it and root I would like to do that
Android 8.0.0???
Really on a S6?
